Veteran Log First Testosterone Cycle Log

If that were true you'd have invited all your ex wives for a swim in the pond
bro haha. but seriously we got bigfoot near ranch. i seen him walking by.

Log Day 61

Woke up feeling like crap today. My wife is sick and snoring pretty loudly so my sleep was poor. I might be getting sick too. Time to add some vitamin C and elderberry to the stack.

I also ate way too much Mexican food for dinner last night and feeling a bit of heart burn this morning.

HRV is very low today, 2 days in a row.

Deloading this week so training is minimal. I have 5 programmed deload days but I'm going to compress them into 3 so I can have the weekend off. With it being father's day it would be good to just focus on time with the family.

Was it Bigfoot or that cousin of yours that never cycled off Tren lol. I think Bigfoot is what happens from too much Tren right. I heard that somewhere

Log Day 60

Yesterday was the most insane training session I have ever experienced. I don't know what the cause was, but I had an explosion in progression. Yesterday was my last day of 2 weeks training to failure. My numbers weren't really going up from the week before. Seemed I hit my actual limit. Not yesterday...I was like holy shit what is happening.

Leaning lateral raises +5 reps

Facepulls +2.5lbs and 2 reps

Shoulder Press +5lbs and 1 rep

Hamstring curls +4 reps

Hanging straight leg raises +3 reps

Not sure how to explain it. I was exhausted before training, felt like it was gonna be a bad day. The only thing that changed was my 1st pin of NPP the day before. I bumped my test by 50mgs 5 days ago. Nothing else has changed in my life. Can't really explain these results but man it felt amazing.

Thanks bro. I prefer to stay in the mid to high rep ranges these days and focus on technique. Two years straight of high volume low rep range powerlifting burnt me out.

I checked in on your log and you're doing amazing. Are you able to say what in your stack has the best effect on you for recovery? I've used BPC and TB. Never found it helped much in general recovery terms, great for injuries tho.

Lol no way bro. It would be fun to try and compete just to test myself but there's no way I could commit the time and work needed to get stage ready. Those guys are hardcore and make real sacrifices in their lives.

Thanks bro, that means a lot.

Your new profile pic looks insane. Are you competing? You look like your about to hop on stage.

Completely off topic, but my favourite flag is Isle of Man! Close enough to the UK members.
Hey it's been a while since you dropped by the log. Good to see you bro. I hear you're a fellow Canadian too.

Yea Isle of man with those 3 spinning legs is pretty sweet. Are you a TT fan?

If I could take 6 months off work I'd love to give it a go but with my lifestyle there's no way I could manage otherwise. I'm all in on everything I do so if I did try it I'd like to do it right and commit 100%

most people hate competing who do it to be honest. it takes the fun out of bodybuilding ironically

Log Day 62

Woke up feeling off. I think the illness my wife has been dealing with got it's hooks in me. Recovery has been pretty low the last 3 days, and this morning my throat is a bit sore. RHR is way up at 73bpm. Been running extra vitamin C and elderberry to try and knock this down. Hopefully I'm better tomorrow.

Knocked off to deload days in one yesterday. One more deload day to go and then I'll have the whole weekend off. Although I'm sure my dad will have a long list of chores for me once I get up to his place. It is Father's day weekend after all. Gotta work for the old man on this weekend traditionally.

Trying to figure out my next training cycle too. It seemed I over did things a little bit last training cycle so I need to do a better job of managing volume into my peaking weeks. In my head I'm thinking you're on cycle push the limits as far as they can go, but then last time members told me I had to take two days off to get my body back to baseline after over training. I've added NPP though so I can push harder this time right?

Ya show prep looks like torture. But it seems like a great challenge too and I'm sure if your body responds properly it's a pretty rewarding feeling after it's all said and done

If you’re feeling sick try to get some sun! I haven’t gotten sick one time since I bought a vitamin D lamp. Not so much as a sniffle. It’s been three years. Before that I was getting injectable vitamin D which is also awesome, but that source is gone and I haven’t found another. Even when my kids are feeling sick I make them use the lamp and they always bounce back fast.

Some guys think its placebo but i dont agree with that, ive felt what you just felt enough times on cycle to know, some people i feel just get hit faster or feel certian compounds quicker than others with a heightened response, the first time i did winstrol it was like holy fuck, then winstrol and Anavar together was like god mode enabled

I actually use a sun lamp every morning, but it's mainly for sleep. I take 3000iu of D every day. I don't really get sick sick, more just feeling off. The problem is my wife is a preschool teacher so she brings home a lot of sicknesses.

Ya I was thinking about placebo or psychosomatic results but I didn't even think the NPP could have any effect for another week or two. If it was the NPP that would be great cuz then I would have found my new favorite compound lol

Log Day 63

I messed up bad yesterday. It was reaching the end of my work day, rushing to complete the job and to home on a Friday, I did something I knew wasn't safe to try and save time. I need to drill a hole in a metal cover with a step bit. Normally I would screw the plate down and then drill it safely, but I was rushing and decided to do it by hand...on a 12ft ladder. Well the drill bit bound, the metal cover spun around and sliced my thumb wide open twice and skinned it on the third pass. Fukn stupid move. Gushing blood everywhere, instant murder scene.

Flushed out the cuts, they're deep, antiseptic spray, cream, gauze, finish the job before heading out for a walk in doctor to stich me up. Well turns out our walk in doc's don't do stitches since covid... I have to go to a hospital. At this point it's been 3 hrs since the cut and your skin is only viable for 4. Go to pharmacy, it doesn't sell dermabond, go to dollar store and get some krazy glue and seal it myself. If I went to a hospital it would be 5 hours min before I see a doc. Thanks Canada.

Hopefully everything sealed up good. I hit it with high proof isopropyl before sealing it. Threw on some butterflies and gauze for added protection. Think I did a decent job but time will tell. I got I lined up nice before gluing it so you could barely tell there was a cut.

Hopefully this won't effect my work or training.

Yeah, the mind is a powerful thing as they say even still placebo or not, placebo just doesn't make u automatically stronger, could it make u lift harder, probably as far as moving up in weights out of thin air, not likely imo, i would suspect the npp is already working in a small capacity for you, i noticed differences first dose of winstrol and the first dose of winstrol and anavar combination, npp is definitely an awesome little compound 💪

Naw I'm on a deload so fairly easy. Work was pretty tough tho. You know how that goes. I am coming off my peaking weeks of training too so you're right in thinking my system is probably a bit cooked right now.

I remember you and Steve talking on the podcast about how people respond differently to different compounds. Some people are androgen people and some are DHT people, and some more specifically respond to certain compounds. I think I remember you guys talking about how you're a DHT guy because you're incredible response to proviron. Maybe NPP is the one for me. I'd like to figure out what works best for me and just cycle that every once and a while going forward.

The dht compounds actually always peaked my interest even when i was nautral, seemed well tolerated and mild in nature compared with other compounds.

My mindset from the get go was try mild compounds and run conservative doses, really get a feel for what my body likes and responds with.

Plus the golden era of bodybuilding has always been my favorite, primo was a big one back then, so i wanted to give it a shot, ive pretty much run only dht compounds, i just posted some photos of me from my workout last night, i posted a photo of me from 2 months ago, and one of me 4 weeks into my current cycle and the difference is pretty noticeable, fo me dhts just work.

maybe man. check out my log and follow me
@ROIDDERS just had a chance to read through your log. Looks amazing. Your training is really hardcore and the results really show the work you're putting in. Do you have a show in mind they you're aiming for? I ask cuz you look really lean already

NPP can help, you don't get anxiety from it right bro? @BeMe
Nothing so far. I've never been proned to anxiety ever in my life. I was quick to anger in my younger years, work related stress is a problem for me, but anxiety never thankfully.

No signs of infection in my finger thankfully. Hopefully it's sealing up under the krazy glue. Yesterday was an actual rest day. Didn't really do much of anything except work on my tan lakeside and walk the dogs. My body is feeling really good today and I think I'm over whatever little illness I was battling the last few days.

Water is the best! I have a crackpot theory that being near nature, but especially water, is probiotic. It has to be! My family has had a string of properties on Green Bay since the original settling of the area. Everyone there lives a long time and stays super young. My great grandma lived alone in her cabin until she was 99. The water smelled like fish shit and the beach has sand fleas but we loved it there. Her daughter, my aunt, had lived right down the beach since forever. She’s in her nineties now and has the posture and energy of a fit 55 year old. I’m on a river and most of my neighbors are shaping up like this. The couple I bought my home from barely have grey hair and they are retired. I’ll never live far from water. Even if I’m in a van😂

A van down by the river would you say? Lol

The water does have a calming effect which is great for your well being. Just the sounds of a river are great for you.

I'm more of a mountain or deep woods guy but water is right up there too. I'd imagine being in the deep woods just reminds you of work so it's probably not the same in your case lol.

I did live in Colorado for half a year. Mountains are amazing. Every single day the views were breathtaking. It never got old. The way the pines infuse the air is amazing. I was doing fire mitigation logging. Then there were fires and I wound up going home. You guys are having a bunch of bad fires? Is that affecting you?

Northern Ontario is burning pretty bad and the smoke from the major Western Canada firee are actually effecting the air quality over here in Toronto. We don't get forest fires around where we live thankfully.

It's crazy cuz all my life in Toronto we'd never had smoke in the city but starting 4 years ago it's happened every summer since. Not sure what's changed because forest fires aren't new in Canada.

love nature bro ;) looks like gold @BeMe and protein over 460 is a win

you feel it there?
Ya it's crazy that smoke can travel thousands of kilometers and drop on us here. Just last week Toronto had its worst recorded air quality reading in history due to the smoke from fires in Manitoba. It felt like I was a cigarette smoker again lol

Love npp

We’re getting haze and smoke down here near Chicago too

It's crazy, even Cali wildfires we had them in New Mexico too @toddthelineman
Crazy how far the smoke can move in the atmosphere. They said it stays up there but if you get a high pressure system, which is typically a bright sunny day, it pushes the smoke down from the atmosphere right on top of you

Log Day 65

Missed my update this morning because I was a bit rushed getting out the door for work.

The glue peeled off my thumb and what was underneath doesn't look great, but could be worse. No infection which is the main thing. Glued it back up again and training around it. Having to be really mindful of my grips.

New high weight this morning 187lbs. Think the high calories and 3 days off in a row is making me fat lol.

I flushed it with water when it happened then antiseptic spray, and antiseptic gel. Later when I found out I wouldn't be able to get stitches in time I soaked it with some 99% isopropyl alcohol and krazy glued it. Since then I'm keeping it glued up with vetbond.

The cut is really really deep and I'm hoping it will stick back together inside. Less worried about the surface cuz another scar is just whatever.

I'm probably done gluing it after today and I'm gonna let the surface start drying out. I sliced it Friday afternoon so it's been long enough. If its gonna heal it it should be healed by now. Butterflies and polysporin from hear on out.

From Canada?

2 years ago we turned New York city orange...god know what was in that smoke.
That’s what everyone is saying. Bad air quality and you can see the haze. It’s gotta be a solid 10-12 hour drive to the border. Maybe more. I never drove to Canada. I canoed into Canada once for less than a day. Now I can’t go, and that’s so dumb to me. My record isn’t bad at all. Just traffic stuff and some cannabis. O don’t get it.

It's the same vice versa. Any minor charges and we can't go to the states. Its funny tho cuz a weed change will get you banned but a gun charge and you're ok lol.

I know guys who got blocked for DWI

Completely unfair. I can see why Canada would only want our best, because there’s so so so many awful people here. And sure, people are people no matter where they are from, but the numbers tell the story. Canadians aren’t up there killing people everyday, etc. there’s no reason to disallow a Canadian entrance into the states. They’re gonna make things worse here? Good luck!

I really think it’s all about control. They don’t want people to be able to just go next door and do what they want after they screw up at home. Because it would be too easy. I’m not aware of any other country I can’t go to. I’m sure there are some, but not many

Log Day 66

Week 1 new training cycle 3 RIR sets.

Tried the @Noah Wixx warm up working set technique. Worked well be I'm figuring it out still. Still did a warm up set before the warm up working set. Not sure if that's right.

Adding in some drop sets like @LevButlerov suggested.

Otherwise all is good except for this giant gash on my thumb that I have to work around.

Glad you liked it brother, that first set is really designed for getting the muscle active and warmed up and pushing blood flo into the muscle you are working, if you can handle more sets and arent noticing recovery issues or fatigue setting in quicker by adding an extra set on top then go for it, nothing wrong with how you have it setup, as long as you see progression in reps or weight moved along with endurance gains, it is working perfectly fine 😎

Do you do it for every set, or first set in a muscle group, or just first set of the day? @Noah Wixx

Is there a strategy to where it's works best. I normally only warm up for my first set then I'm off to the races lol.

If i have 7 movements i do it for all 7 movements on that first opening set, the goal behind it is slow controlled reps, with a squeeze of 3-5 seconds on each rep till i reach 15 reps, over time those Warm-up sets will get heavier over time and endurance will go up, so its a method I use for hitting mutiple target goals, last week if i did say 20lbs for something this week it's 25lbs next week its 30lbs, till i find a weight i struggle with, when finding a new Warm-up starting weight i always want the last 3-5 reps to have some struggle but always doable with good structure and form. Its a nice way of having progressive overload on the warmup with higher reps.

When you say 3-5 second squeeze, you're pausing on the concentric instead of the eccentric?

I usually pause on the eccentric to maximize the stretch.

Sometimes i do both other times i do it on the eccentric, just depends on the week as i rotate that specific aspect around based on the movements im doing, like cable flys, i will squeeze and pause with a full extension 3-5 seconds, as i retract my arms back, i will go back a little past neutral position and do a full stretch and pause in the rest position if that makes sense, makes the reps harder, you cant use constant motion as a leverage point or advantage, when you pause like that and stop before starting the next rep.

That makes total sense in my head. There are certain exercises where the concentric is amplified and pausing on that makes total sense. Thanks bro

Absolutely brother, im always analyzing in the gym and go what if i do it this way now, or what if i try this, i pay attention to the pump the stretch, the connection with mind and muscle, im going over all of it in my head trying to prefect my workouts.

I feel you. No sense in just showing up and going through the motions, that's just a waste of time.

I’m following all this and honestly, I’m pretty lost. I think I don’t really know how to work out like a body builder at all. Everything I know about lifting comes from Reddit and from Reddit the StrongLifts 5x5 app, and my X3 bar for when I travel. I think I’ve got my form dialed in because I’m not hurting myself anymore. And I do things like pauses and really slow reps and either really full range of motion or I’ll just do the hard range of the rep, like prison pushups… you don’t go all the way to the top or bottom because that’s resting. Before all that all I ever did was calisthenics. Pushups, pistol squats, pull ups, one arm push ups, planks. I could do front and rear levers and a shaky planche. Some other things. I could do one bad muscle up.

I like the power lifting lifts. I feel like I’m getting a lot out of them. Except maybe my chest and I really hate doing rows because I could pull a lot up but it always hurts my neck so I can’t actually get anything out of it. And I can’t do any curls right now because of the stupid tendinitis

You guys are doing a lot of isolation stuff, yeah? Does that make it so you can workout everyday?

I weight train 5 days a week right now, but I think I'm pushing the limit of what I should be doing. I have a hard time determining what is my maximum recoverable volume now that I'm on cycle and I'd rather overdue it then under. Guess I'm just a meathead that way lol. The big 3 powerlifting moves and some of the other compounds do have a high systemtic burden and can wear you out more. Doing more isolations can allow you to do more work, but then you're missing the benefits of the big compounds, so its really a balancing act depending on how you're feeling. Deadlifts are something I can go without for some weeks. It's literally my favorite lift but when it comes to asthetics it has the worst benefit to burden ratio. Bench I also skip a fair amount because I find I get way better chest activation from other movements. Squats are always a must for me personally because for me I find they're worth the cost. Dips and pullups are pretty much a must for me every week.

Can you do other row variations? Chest supported? T-Bar? Have you tried playing with grip types or widths? Also try dropping the weight and increasing the reps and see if that helps a bit. Focus on form, good flexion to maximize the stretch, driving through your pinkies, squeeze tight on the contraction. Try and figure out what part of the seated row causes pain and maybe that can help you figure a way around it.

Literally 90% of weight lifting is just pick weight up and put weight down. If you do that then you're literally getting 90% of the benefits. The finer details are really where you get that last little bit, and that's all the science based lifting nerdy stuff. A lot of the old school guys poo poo all this kinda stuff but I'm not really sure why. We're all chasing small improvements so why not try new techniques and see if they help right?

Don't feel like you're missing out bro. You're doing most of the work from the sounds of it and thats the main thing. NOTHING is more important than consistency. As long as you do the work every time its money in the bank. Even if you have a bad session, its better than nothing at all. Even if you can't finish a session, STILL better than nothing at all. Its all money in the bank.

For your tendonitis get yourself a thera-band flexbar and just youtube the training for it. It will help A LOT. I barely get flare ups anymore thanks to this thing. Make sure you order a light one to start. Lighter weight higher reps are better for curing the tendonitis.

For training to keep things simple I just use the RP Hypertrophy App. It can program everything for you or you can customize it yourself. Each movement has video explanations telling you cues and form. It's really good for tracking purposes and the UI is great. Its designed for hypertrophy unlike a lot of other apps that focus more on powerlifting.

I would love to workout more often, but I think I’m on the right track for what I’m trying to do for now. If I can ever work my way into a desk though I’m going to go full body builder mode.

I think I can do anything but bent over rows. Like I can do them but any real weight just pulls on my old neck injury and it’s a hard no. I’m working out under a carport ghetto as all hell until one of these kids moves out, then I’ll build a home gym. So right now it’s just a garage sale squat rack, a bench, and Olympic plates from Amazon. I can only really find time to go to a gym in the winter, but they’re always packed. I can’t do it.

I’m going to get that flex bar right now! My left arm is my dominant skiing arm, and it has the tendinitis right now. It’s sucking bad. I’m performing in a water ski show twice a week, practicing twice at least, plus a tournament Saturday and at least two more this season. It’s never going to heal like this…

@toddthelineman you aren't missing out brother and i know all of this is hard with tracking and if you've never seen actual bodybuilders or people who are competitive or taking it super serious, this can all be overwhelming from the outside looking in, i agree with @BeMe you are doing a fantastic job and don't feel like you are missing out on anything, as long as you see results and you progress over time that is all that matters, alot of what i talk about is more intermediate/advanced by design. BE follows my log and took an interest in how i think and how i work, so sometimes he asks me questions that i put alot of details in so he can full see it from how i see it and apply it himself if he so wishes, alot of the stuff i do or talk about came from a very long time of trianing and experimenting for what is best for my body and my goals long term, alot of what i say can apply for anyone in various different degrees, always happy to help or explain something 💪 😎

Right on, man! I’ll get there. I’m really just building a base still, I think, but I like seeing how other people are doing it.

Lol that's crazy, I used to water ski in tournaments too and I would always get tendonitis after. Now I only ski a couple times a year to make my mom happy and man there's a lot of muscles you just can't train for when it comes to slalom skiing. I'm sore for days after everytime...but it makes my mom happy so I gotta do it. She's already bugging me to go this year and the lake is still freezing cold lol.

Bro as long as you're doing something, doesn't matter the equipment or conditions, just something then that's 90% of the battle. If you stay consistent and eat then you'll gain. I know enough guys that came outta prison jacked and all they ate was carbs and sugar and no gym. Dudes always come out fat or jacked lol

Well said! Plus some of us are just geekier about it than others and go way overboard at times lol @toddthelineman

I think @Noah Wixx and I are both a bit geeky when it comes to lifting. It just sounds crazier than it really is cuz of the terminology and things like that.

You got the meat and potatoes @toddthelineman bro. What were talking about is just the BBQ sauce on the side lol.

That’s crazy dude. We’re like alternate reality versions of each other hahaha. I do show skiing, so I’m carrying chicks that climb into pyramids. It’s very challenging for me, and I was the worst skier on the team for yeeeeaaaaars because they start when they’re 6 and I was like 32 lol. I also barefoot and trick ski, but barely show worthy.

Crazy that your lake is still so cold. A couple years ago some friends and I took skiing Christmas pictures in December hahaha. We’re all nuts here. I’ll go in 40° water and 40° air.

I know so many people that grew up behind a boat that don’t do it anymore. My son refused to ski until he moved back in with me at 18, and Saturday he made his first slalom deep start. My daughter skis about 8-10 times a year, and still enjoys it. We were ski partners in the show for like five years until she had scoliosis surgery and didn’t want to be the top of a four tier pyramid anymore. She’s gymnast size so the team always pressured her to do it and she just stopped going.

I did get big and strong as hell in jail. If I had actually gotten hard time I would be huge. All that grits and baloney had me at 195 in just three months, still with abs. And I couldn’t weigh myself until I got home from 3 days on the bus!😭. All this clean eating is not the same hahaha

Right now, I’m trying to reconcile that if I can’t gain weight at this workload, with this heat, that’s ok. I’m still getting stronger. That will eventually equal mass on the scale when the time is right.

Holy shit that's so cool. You do the pyramid, that's sick! Barefoot skiing is bad ass too! I was always to scared to do it cuz our lake is weedy and has sticks and I've heard stories about people ripping their feet right open on a piece of lake garbage. Man that's so cool. Those ski shows must be a crazy workout! Between the training, work, and the shows you're gonna be yolked and peeled by the end of summer. Just stay the course bro!

You could gain weight if you dirty bulk but it's not worth it to your long term health. Stick with it and the gains will come. You could always try something to boost your appetite? GH or MK77?

I did cave and start my gh last night. Nobody noticed it’s in my log hahaha. Now I’m trying not to fall asleep before I’m done eating

Barefooting is super tough. More exciting than skydiving. Absolutely it is very dangerous. The chick that got me into show skiing was competing for world comp. Broke her neck practicing. She’s a partial quadriplegic? They had to run new nerves for her to move her hands some. Very sad. The way she moved on the water was unreal. Made me look like a baby deer

Damn that's sad to hear. Hopefully neuralink or a company like that will be able to help people like her.

When I was young I was always pushing to get shoulder down and took a couple bad falls with minor concussions. Now I just take it easy and ski good enough to make my mom smile.

Your pyramid could be really dangerous. Remember Jaws

Yeah people get hurt for sure. There’s little kids in it even. Like 13 year old gymnasts climbing five high. It’s terrifying when they fall forward. I sure don’t remember jaws lol

Log Day 67

Going to start posting pictures of my meals and my logs. I ate the same thing all day everyday with the exception of dinner so I'll just post a photo of that each day.

Training was really good yesterday, figuring out the @Noah Wixx warm up working set. Why is it harder than my actual sets lol. Threw in some drop sets. I'm going to start doing extra work on my arms to try and help them catch up to my chest and back. My arms have gotten bigger but my side profile is so thick now it's making them look smaller.

Does NPP effect your sleep? I feel like I'm not sleeping as deeply as I usually do.

Does NPP effect your sleep? I feel like I'm not sleeping as deeply as I usually do.

I told you brother it is no joke and a challenge if you do it exact in the way i describe, glad it has added a level of difficulty, that will help with progressing in overload and endurance over time 💪 lets get it 😎
