Approved Log My Training Log

I fucked up today and went over my calories. I ate clean, but just didn't keep count. Ah, well. Not the end of the world. I smashed a weights session and did 45 minutes cardio tonight. My pec fly machine arrived today, so Monday I'll add it to my plan. I put my bike on a trainer so I'm not getting smashed by the heat. Anyhoo, enough of my boring log. I'm not worried about people flaming me. I'm just hard on myself and like to keep myself accountable and on point.
 
Do you ever get discouraged? I have been lifting for going on almost 2 years, with a 3-month and 2-month break in between for injuries, but I feel like I don't even look like I lift. I'm not sure if it's because of BF% or being in my 40s with a spinal cord injury. I work really hard on my fitness, and not seeing the results I feel like I should be getting for the time and effort I have put in makes me feel like packing it in at times. Anyone else in the same boat? I'm not quitting. I get too much benefit from it from a mental health perspective, and my strength has gone up, even if my size isn't where I'd like it. Just saying, it can be disheartening at times.

Yes that’s completely normal, especially when you’ve had to pause for injuries. Strength moving up means your body is adapting, even if the mirror is slower to catch up.

Focus your training and push small progressions weekly.
Keep protein high and run a light surplus with higher protein, and stay strong on the cardio. @Wheels85 you will get there, just takes time. :D

Bro we all wanna see more gains for the work we put in, you're not alone there. If you're strength is going up then you know you're on the right track and the gains will come.

Take more progess pics of yourself. It's hard to see changes in real time. Honestly if I didn't have my progress pics I'd be saying the exact same thing as you right now.

Change doesn't come quickly for anyone...except maybe young kids just starting out...they change quick.

Guys our age we need to stay consistent and do EVERYTHING right. Dial in your training, diet, supps and that's all you can do. Once you're doing everything right you can take comfort knowing you're leaving nothing on the table.

Last is to manage expectations. Realistically adding 6-8lbs of lean muscle in a year would be insane. But if you look in the mirror, it's not gonna be all that obvious, but it's there. Then you do that over the next few years and bam...it's obvious. If you have pics to look back on throughout the process you will see the changes tho. So like I said...take more pics!

Yeah I 100% agree with @BeMe here, took getting absolutely everything sorted for me to change. I had the same gut and tits combo for over 20 years. No matter what I did nothing would ever change one way or another. Never got any bigger or any smaller through various longterm extreme diets (not for fat loss, self sufficiency through peramaculture was my goal in the decade I experimented) including 5 years vegetarian and about a year vegan mostly from plants I grew myself until my teeth started falling out. And that was starting at 30 not 40 where I am now.

It's likely going to be something about diet or training man. We can lie to ourselves easily without realising. Through all that dieting I just mentioned, I used to say the same thing about my progress vs expectations and compare myself to others doing the same thing but I didn't even consider factoring in the reality that I drank 24 beers a day, every single day for those ten years, about 3400kcal as a baseline before I'd even eaten anything. It's wasent denial it was a blindspot. It seems retarded even to me now but that's the truth of what happened.

This is why logging is so powerful, it would have been two posts before someone said "what about those two beers you said you had?" 😂

My advice would be to try find a healthy diet that is sustainable long term for you and make the lifestyle changes needed to maintain it. For me that meant quitting drinking. I wanted so badly to start lifting and steriods after my friend and I saw Bigger Stronger Faster in 2008 which revealed to us that steriods aren't as dangerous as we thought, and we decided to start. He quit drinking immediately and starting changing, but I could not quit drinking. I attempted to get clean so I can start steriods several times and couldn't. Even bought $1000 worth of gear of the original silk road in 2012, and ended up swapping them for an 8-ball two years later when I still haven't cleaned up to start. I'm on week six of my first ever use of testosterone after sobering up at hospital detox two years ago.

Diet wise it was the carnivore diet I initially had success with, been off and on it for 7 years now and highly recommend at least a 90 day trial to see. If you don't like it you can use it as a form of elimination diet. Once adjusted to the meat and it's been at least a month, if you want to stop it you can reintroduce other types of food one by one and monitor thr effects and take notes.

As you said you ARE progressing and, here it's muscle, progression is NOT linear. Sometimes it takes a while. Reset and go hard

Everyone responds different but in general 500 is way too high for your first cycle. This is responsible first cycle advice not the advice I would give myself today for example. I can run 500 easy but for you more is not better as first time and 375 will do the trick.

Congrats on getting sober, mate. Should be proud of yourself! I'm pretty lucky in that the diet I'm currently on is largely what I grew up on and how I enjoy eating. My issue is that my partner and the mother of my kid passed away 4 years ago, and I used food to deal with my feelings, along with not sleeping well. So, not sleeping for long periods isn't great to begin with and triggers your body to eat more, along with 3 am Uber Eats orders, is pretty much how I got here. In between the Uber orders, my diet was good, and I don't drink or do drugs. I also haven't been consistently active cardio-wise

Sorry to hear about your partner bro, that's rough. Understandable you needed something. I never really had a problem with food but even still I found it really difficult to stick to diet plans. I think carnivore worked so well for me because you it's not restrictive volume wise. I was weak from the vegetarian and alcohol and looked at meat as medicine initially, which it was and as long as it was fatty I didn't place any restrictions on it and tried to eat as much as possible. If I craved sugar or carbs I stuffed my face with fat even if I didn't feel like it. And every day I could feel my strength returning, it really was healing me. Physical problems I didn't realise were connected with diet disappeared and I got better quite quickly. It only takes a couple of weeks to get used to it then a couple of months for your body to fat adapt, when that happens your appetite changes, all the shit you used yo want is no longer appealing and you see it for what it is... cardboard with sauce on it pretty much. Moulded into different shapes in a factory and then painted different colours.

I started taking the peptide retatrutide, that's what my log is about (and testosterone therapy) and that's what truely gave me full control. I could make a plan on paper and execute it and I am. I have never ever lost a little bit of weight before so it's beem pretty crazy this past month. I've got loose skin which I find kinda unappealing and hope goes away soon, but it's a reminder that I used to fit in that skin pretty recently. Couldn't recommend it enough bro, it will likely fix your bad habits overnight.

Only thing was it made me basically not be able to tolerate fat, and made me rethink my whole diet which the forum helped me do. There's guys here who have been through everything and found the solution which they openly share - I think you'll find what you're looking for on Evo

@Wheels85 man of course i've gotten discouraged! it happens no matter what. your favorite pro athlets you watch on tv have droughts too. even the greateast of all times like Gretsky, Jordan and Brady had bad stretches.

the thing about going through tough times is to remember self harm and using things like alcohol as a depressent doesn't fix anything. it just numbs your brain temporarily. @Wheels85

i've gotten discouraged. our bodies will not improve in a linear fashion. there are steps forward and back @Wheels85

If you have a 2ml vial with 5mgs you'll need to use 1ml of solution, harder to measure though. @HarleyGuy

now you point this out, I think we need some mega threads on proper gear and peptide injections and prep.
Draw 1 ml of BAC water per mg of retatrutide into a sterile syringe and slowly inject it into the vial along the glass, not directly onto the powder. Let it dissolve at room temperature without shaking, just roll gently until clear.

Store the mixed vial in the fridge and use an insulin syringe to draw your weekly dose. Always use alcohol swabs on both the vial top and the injection site before pinning. :D @Wheels85

I was also thinking of a "health wellness and hygiene" including how to pin safely emphasizing the alcohol swabs needed both on your body preshot (and for me after) as well as swabbing the top of the vials before even starting the pinning process. How to pin certain muscle groups with what gauge and what length needle (when BF% is known roughly) as well as deep tissue forced massage post shot I find helps. I worry a lot of brothers on here don't practice alcohol swabbing during their pinning regime. For example I just helped a guy out who texted me complaining of balls in his glutes using only 3CC, I said use a longer needle 1.5", swab the vial and your ass and use multiple swabs let it get good and saturated then let it dry, and heat the oil before you inject by running the syringe under the hottest water your house has for 5 minutes (needle side up). He tried it and it worked.

The volume you use for reconstitution doesn't really matter much though. Especially if you use 1/2ml slin pins you can easily measure any non fractional amount.

I always say less is more cuz you save BAC water and don't have to keep buying it all the time lol. @HarleyGuy will appreciate that

I did, but I found it agitates the area more. This was when I was doing sub q injections on my first lot of gear and getting lumps in my stomach. It could be less painful with the new stuff.

I knew about your kid I didn't know what your ex did to herself brother that's some heavy, heavy shit. How long ago was this and how you holding up today? I can still hear the pain, anger and resentment in some of your posts and I don't blame you on that at all. That's something that is almost impossible to let go of.

Yea ditch the subq and go intramuscular. The oil can get stuck when you go subq

You can pin delts, triceps, biceps, lats. Plenty of great option. My 2 faves are delts and lats.

I just so a light massage. Don't wanna aggrivate it, just wanna move the oil around in the muscle.

I'll put that on my TO DO and check with mod que on it :D we might have it in the works and I didn't check.

I was also thinking of a "health wellness and hygiene" including how to pin safely emphasizing the alcohol swabs needed both on your body preshot (and for me after) as well as swabbing the top of the vials before even starting the pinning process. How to pin certain muscle groups with what gauge and what length needle (when BF% is known roughly) as well as deep tissue forced massage post shot I find helps. I worry a lot of brothers on here don't practice alcohol swabbing during their pinning regime. For example I just helped a guy out who texted me complaining of balls in his glutes using only 3CC, I said use a longer needle 1.5", swab the vial and your ass and use multiple swabs let it get good and saturated then let it dry, and heat the oil before you inject by running the syringe under the hottest water your house has for 5 minutes (needle side up). He tried it and it worked.

Going to force myself to take a couple of rest days to get the strength back in my arms and let them grow. Definitely felt weaker today and a bit of an elbow twinge. Maybe find some low-intensity cardio to do, cause I hate doing nothing when I'm motivated.

yeah i don't mention it very often. kept it silent in my log as its not the place. people always assume i need therapy which to me is very beta. i'm an alpha i do not go to therapy. my therapy is the gym, football, and protein

The problem is most therapists don't have a fucking clue how to relate to you and personally I can read through their textbook templated questions and dialogue faster than they even realize they're just regurgitating the same thing to all their clients. I was forced to do therapy by my workplace injury insurance and how do you talk to some ivory towered Ph.D. about looking for a guys head in a car because it came off in an accident? I've literally said to some therapists "I know where you're going with this and I'm not interested, that's from 'such and such' book written by 'insert author here'".

I finally found one who is ex military and trained on the same joint task force that I did and we just talk shit together and he doesn't try and textbook me; he's good and lets me casually talk about the shit I've done either as a SWAT operator or a traffic cop but as soon as I'm off probation I'm gonna 86 him.

Do you ever get discouraged? I have been lifting for going on almost 2 years, with a 3-month and 2-month break in between for injuries, but I feel like I don't even look like I lift. I'm not sure if it's because of BF% or being in my 40s with a spinal cord injury. I work really hard on my fitness, and not seeing the results I feel like I should be getting for the time and effort I have put in makes me feel like packing it in at times. Anyone else in the same boat? I'm not quitting. I get too much benefit from it from a mental health perspective, and my strength has gone up, even if my size isn't where I'd like it. Just saying, it can be disheartening at times.
@Wheels85 yes this happens to me quite often, but I just keep pushing I attribute most of it to body dysmorphia

Next week would be a good time to get bloodwork done Total test/Free Test and Estradiol/Progesterone with Prolactin at the minimum. SHBG if it's covered too. It's still worth it if you have to pay out of pocket in my opinion.

I had bloods done at the Dr last week, just so I had a before and after reference. It only covers cholesterol, liver etc, not test. I have a full "sports" blood panel that I paid for on my last cycle that I didn't end up using so I'll use that.

I wasn't until last week. I think I pinned 200 last week, may have been less. Pinned 125 Wednesday night, nothing since. I have a full blood panel that I paid for during my last cycle that I haven't used, so next week I can get that done. I had bloods done at my local GP last week, but that won't show everything.

Go for it. Whatever gets the correct amount in. With that syringe too you can worry less about it blasting in too fast and ruining the peptide. If it’s pressurize. Some aren’t but it should be.

Then chuck that syringe and use a new one to pin yourself.

I have two red lines high up on my cheek, where NFL players would put the black polish. They popped up not long after I started my first cycle. I read somewhere that it can be a sign of liver damage but surely that would be way too quick for the test and var to have that sort of effect? Today I only ate a 3 egg omelette with salmon and cottage cheese for breakfast and a Greek yogurt with a scoop of Whey post workout. Not gonna lie, my parents made homemade pizza on Friday, and I indulged too much. Some cookies on Saturday night, too. Kept my calories extremely low yesterday and today to try to make up for it. I took my first shot of Reta yesterday, so hopefully that helps. 1 hour cardio last night.


Smashed a good workout today. Had some energy (probably from all the pizza), so I did some 4 rep sets and went heavier than usual on some exercises. Just want to give a quick shoutout to Harley Guy, for his kind words on the Evo podcast, along with his help since I have been here. Same goes for the rest of you. I think there'd be a lot more healthier people in the world if they understood just how much established gym goers only want to help and see others thrive in their journeys. Hope you all had a good weekend!

I never have heard that. I put a BEATING on my liver way back about 14 years ago. I did winstrol for like three months and drank heavily and regularly. I didn’t get lines on my face but my poop turned white. Originally I was being somewhat healthy, but I got around girls and then it was over for me hahaha. It took a while before I could tell I was hurting myself, but I was much younger and in crazy shape and health. I think most will agree that in the end you can only trust bloodwork. You can feel “fine” and have poor results. But if something is really wrong, you should be able to track it down

I either read it or it was on a YT video about PEDs. I feel fine, and I'm 99% sure the gear was fake. It could have just been age-related and happened to happen the same time I started the gear. I have blood test results from last week that I'm going to see on Tuesday, and I'm getting a full blood test done with the works next week.

When I bought 10 vials of fake test e, I was halfway through a vial before I knew I was in trouble. Felt pretty bad. I was still functioning, but far from optimally. And my body was starting to melt but I had been working my ass off which is usually more than enough to keep me looking uncommonly fit, without working out at all.

I smelled the fear coming from the oil carrier. Just kidding... it was purchased off a website that resells an approved brand on here but I went on a tangent and bought another brand they resell (just to try and get deca before it became a tumbleweed compound); that brand isn't approved on here and then doing a little digging I found some sketchy posts about it and when I questioned it a bunch of new members all of a sudden appeared and started raving about that brand. That to me, is a circle jerk of people trying to all of a sudden rave about a brand that they could have posted about long before it was questioned. I'm not one to trust anything that doesn't have a long standing reputation for being approved and trusted on here. And before I came on EVO I'd just get it tested, hence why I was using Nordic Fusion for years before I found EVO where in fact Nordic Fusion is a approved and trusted source on EVO so now I just get direct from source. It was a hiccup on my part, I trust that brand because it was being sold on the same website that was reselling Nordic Fusion but now I know that doesn't mean their counterpart brands on the website are legit too.

Ya when you're on real gear you know. When I got out of prison and tested at 4 nmol/L, I immediately pinned my Rx TestE and got in range to renew my prescription and felt meh, ok. Then when I ran a Nordic Fusion cycle it was like stepping on the gas like a first cycle all over again. You know when your shit is real once you have experience.

Bro, 10 vials. No way, that's brutal. I only buy 1 at a time for that reason. I know that has it's own problems, but until I find a trusted source, I'm just going to have to keep doing it.

Nah you're good bro you can exhale and relax on here with the trusted sources. If they are out of stock they will just admit it, they won't sent you bunk shit. Just stick to what's approved on here. You can NOT go wrong with UGL I've never seen one issue with it except the odd member pop up complaining it took a couple days for them to reply but that's with all of them since they're legit they are busy so these guys need to cool their jets and just insert patience into an equation that at least equals getting real quality gear.

You're running 200mg from what I recall so you'll be a bit high but not outside the range. Glad you're doing bloods now the sooner the better. It won't be your test or free test that I will be looking at it will be the other markers.

Not at all, and you're definitely not a fat mess. I just wanna see how you aromatize on 200mg. Everyone is different and with no AI on board and just the Test being run I'm interested to see if your e2 is still in range. Some guys stay in range as high as 400mg and some guys their e2 goes through the roof with any exogenous test. These bloods will give us a good baseline to see about getting you a proper cycle in the future and in the mean time just keep focusing on the calorie deficit and that inspirational work you're putting in that I mentioned here:
