moved this to Aussie sub @OneWay13 I'm guessing fairly easy to donate blood in Australia.
I checked on Google, be warned I didn't actually use the clinics. I'm not from there :D
I found in Melbourne Lifeblood, but they do require a doctor referral. There is also a private clinic called The Infusion Clinic on StKilda Rd, but they also require a referral, so I couldn't find anything without referral. I'm sure there are, I'm just ignorant of the area.

And, of course, if we're ok with injecting we can also pull some too (just not from a vein). Flush down toilet.

But ideally donating makes a LOT more sense.

Here in the UK we DO have such services (for a fee). Dave Croslands 'eVal' does it

Is there a specific reason why you are unable to donate blood? If it’s off the cards then I believe the only way would be to get a referral from doctor for one or do it yourself but I wouldn’t recommend it

Hey @OneWay13 , I would recommend to just be upfront with your doctor if it's an emergency. Your doctor has a duty of care to medically assist you. They're also supposed to keep tight lip if it's embarrassing for you, whether criminally or not. (Unless you harmed others....)

Just remember that to them you're one of many potentially "embarrassed" patients. They don't actually care that much to gauge you.

As has been stated, you can't get a therapeutic phlebotomy without a referral. You can however go and donate blood but if your haemoglobin is above 185 they won't let you donate and you'll need to see a doctor to have a blood test and be cleared before you can donate.

hey fellas

i appreciate the responses and individually thank you.
i will probably have to go and see a doctor because last time i was tested i had high haemoglodin and
hct and high iron so im not sure if i qualify for donation.
i might have to try and persuade him to refer me for a therapeutic phlebotomy if not qualified and i
think those above reasons might help.
again thank you!

What was your haemoglobin out of curiosity?

What was your haemoglobin out of curiosity?
it was slightly over 17g/dL. im experiencing some dizziness here and there.
also blood pressure is 158 to 160 most of the time.
i dont smoke or drink so im assuming its because of the Test (last 8 months only on Test).
i booked an appointment with the doctor tomorrow to have another blood test and i will
update you guys with results.

How's your hydration. Do you do daily cardio? Electrolytes? Try and get that blood flowing. Cialis may help slightly. Blood dumping is only a band-aid.. you should find the source of the problem.

i drink 2 litres to 2 and a half a day, i should try to hit 3.5 a day though.
i cardio twice/week and i go for a daily walk of an hour in a park!
i eat healthy and i do electrolytes, minerals and vitamins daily.
thanks for your recommendation

That's a good starting point bro. If you're running test you want atleast a gallon a day. You'll be surprised how much hydration plays a part in haemoglobin levels. Ive done bloods mildly dehydrated and hgb was in the red... Test a week later after chugging 1.5L of water before my test and I'm fine.

That falls well within range brother you're fine

thank you brother.
i ll keep you guys updated!
I've been literally in the donation chair, needle in ready to go, when they've said sorry sir your haemoglobin is too high you can't donate. It was 189 from memory.
All good now though, tested 176 most recent one

One thing I forgot to mention, do you snore? Sleep apnoea is one of the biggest contributors to high haemoglobin
