Carl Weathers passed away yesterday. He, up against some of the very biggest movies stars of the late 80's and early 90's in the form of Stallone and Schwarzenegger, had a heck of an impact on many of us. There are a ton of memes of him with Arnold doing the arm grabbing 'you son of a bitch Dillon' moment from the first Predator. His role in that movie had him as good guy, bad guy, fearful and brave showing his range. That and up against Stallone as Apollo Creed which required another kind of muscular physicality inspired many of us to go hit the gym and kick ass. More recently his part in the Mandolorian has kept him in the public eye.

Show your appreciation for Carl here. What other movie stars like Carl made you wanna go smash the gym? Who hasn't got their gym juices going to a Rocky training montage?

Weathers was a terrific actor who played a lot of different roles. he also played football at a high level, making it to the NFL which is a feat in itself even back in those days.

for me it was staying at my grannies over the summer and one of my uncles put on Commando which had Arnold in it. i was super young at the time. just remember thinking damn this guy was huge lol. although the movie was Atrociously poorly acted and the plot made no sense just like 99% of these 80's action flicks.

thats why diehard is hands down the best action flick of the 80's

well acted, well directed, and very few plot holes

Oh man so many movies and people. Kurt Russell with escape from New york/LA. All the rocky movies, roadhouse one of my all time favorites, over the top with sly and cobra one my my favorite sly movies. I love blood sport. I can keep going but I won't lol, yes so many movies and people that influenced me among other things like old pro wrestling.

@Mobster Carl Weathers was a great man RIP
a podcast guys do one on him

I like how they turned him from heel (Rocky 1 & II) to babyface (Rocky 3). When he gets Rocky riled up asking him where his head is in Rocky III.
He was great in Predator. You have to love that Arnold/Carl bicep clasp in Predator. He was always in great condition.
He did Action Jackson where he was the lead. You would think he would have had more lead roles. He had the charisma and character.

RIP
He will be missed. It really sucks when people you have idolized pass away.

I admittedly did not see the first couple of Rocky's.. the first time i watched one was in high school when a teacher put on rocky IV. the movie itself was atrociously bad lol. but there were some good training scenes and the few parts with Weathers were the few bright spots. he really was a very good actor for an ex jock

I remember this guy he was pretty funny

rest in peace Mobsters friend
