Yes. MRI was about 6 months ago. My ortho had several options: tenytomy, PRP, xsos
The ortho had a few recommendations for me: tenytomy (insurance covers), stem cell (not insurance covered), PRP (not insurance covered) and I chose the PRP. The PRP at Beacon Orthopedic is $750 per injection. The first injection was simply quite amazing! It’s a very long needle and no anesthesia can be used. The needle is plunged into 3 areas of the shoulder under the guidance of ultrasound. The results, simply put, are amazing. My friend had it done 15 years ago in her knee and her knee is still feeling great! I waited three months and there was still an annoying pinch where the bone was hitting my rotator cuff and bursa. Side note: my rotator cuff is fully intact. So, I had a second injection and the response was definitely delayed, however, I now have full range of motion in my right shoulder. I have zero regrets and would do it again without hesitation. Final results may take 6-12 months. Every day is better than the previous.
My medspa doctor suggested the BPC 157 and shockwave. I have had shockwave therapy before at my chiropractor and the response was minimal. My chiropractor provided two sessions to see how I responded. Because the response was minimal, she said it would be a waste of money and time to purchase a package. Shockwave therapy is quite interesting, however!
Dr. Weldon also suggested exsosome therapy, too. Now, I get a little leery when a medical doctor who specializes in facial fillers, laser hair removal, hair restorationPRP, and everything cosmetic begins to recommend exsosome therapy; that’s not his specialty. Exsosome therapy is similar to stem cell therapy but alters slightly because exsosome therapy is sort of an aftermarket of stem cell therapy. I’m going to hold off on all of that right now because the PRP has been such a positive experience.
