Hello All,

I have been doing Ironman events every year for the last few years, I use the intense cardio to get my fat wieght down. Last year I think I was about 13% at 183lbs, but gained 22lbs of fat over the winter, took me four months leading up to the ironman triathlon event to lose almost 17/18lbs, did not get back down to the 183lbs. I will post a picture, head cut off of course.

Goal is to use this winter time to really go from 18% down to 10%. Thats 8 percent. I plan on doing my first physique competition next year, have a few in mind but not 100 percent sure which one to do.

Things to change in order for this to work, strict diet, sleep, supplements, gym discipline, and focus.

Age: 42
Weight: 190 / 86/88KG
BF: 18-19% (photos later)
Years Training: 22 years (off/on - injuries)
Cycle History: 4 or 5 cycles in lifetime (got up to 230lbs at about 18%)
Diet: (Was on a low carb diet/eating clean - Meat(protein)/Veggies, not terribly strict but was watching what I ate
Cardio: Intense Cardio (just finished Half Ironman) 2–3-hour cardio sessions x 5 days a week
Workout: Light weights, higher reps, 3 x a week.
Monday - Legs, 3 to 4 sets per exercise and about 15 reps each
Tuesday - Back
Thursday - Chest/Tris/Bis

Sleep: 8 hours a day or more (even take some sleeping medication or melatonin only when I can't sleep)
Supplements: Magnesium/Vitamin D/Fiber (Stomach health)

Right now on break - two weeks ago finished Ironman

Goals and advices from others:
I would keep cutting to 10% bodyfat imo

Ironman and BB are two completely different animals. I've raced ironman and ultramarathon and you will def need to gear your training toward BB if you wanna compete.Endurance type training that you are doing now will be a detriment to your physique.

Cycles
On the cycles, I would start with option 1
its easy to handle with gw/rad/yk/n2g/czol and you'll feel it fast 8 weeks in

but its still a guess, we need more info please

Please share more day to day information with us.

Diet, Training, Cardio
Diet, please share foods and meals and when you eat them, macros would be good
Training, please share actual exercises reps sets and weights, as you go especially get stronger
cardio how much do you do? when etc
If you don't log what you eat or train now, open NOTES on phone and start recording it there and paste here. Very easy.

The bodyfat thing isn't a requirement as such for the IronMan events just something you want?
The Ironman events/trainer over the last few years tell me that the lower the body fat and the more leaner you are, will get you overall better performance. I do mainly heartbeat type training, which is called zone 1 - 4 training.

I am not looking to do another Ironman event next year, just the BB competition. Was going to make this the new competition event I do once a year.
