Guys,

This forum has prided itself for the past number of years on not bashing people and just trying to help. The past few months it has turned into thread after thread of guys correcting grammar, telling newbies that they should have researched first, just a place that does not welcome new members. This is not what we stand for. The goal here is to help people so get off your high horse and either help people or shut the fuck up. I am tired of all the negativity. If this is the new direction of this place I am out.

Cheers,
MasonicBB

Well I am definitely guilty of telling people to do more research. And I stand by that. I didn’t take the easy way out. I researched for about a year to learn before I dabbled in any of this stuff.

I do get sucked down the rabbit hole with others on occasion and I fully agree with what you are saying. We are here to help and at times I think the lack of research on other’s part makes us jaded. Especially being the answer to the question might be in a thread two above or two below where they are asking.

With that said, I will commit to stay out of the rabbit hole a bit more. I do think humor and being blunt to some at times is necessary.

One thing I would recommend though is we all come to a consensus on how to help the 19yr old kids. Do we do it? I morally feel we should not. But at the same time they should be told politely and professionally we won’t help them.

Just my two cents.

As a courtesy extended to the readership, I have, in fact, and on occasion, corrected the especially egregious writings of those I have responded to in an effort to simply make their writings more readable. However, never have I corrected anyone's grammar, spelling and/or syntax for the sole purpose of correcting someone's grammar, spelling and/or syntax with an eye towards humiliating them.
So if Masonic's comment was directed towards yours truly, then it was, with all respect due him, a gross exaggeration.

Something I've seen on other forums I mod or have modded on is a tendency to just answer questions without any thought as to who is being answered, their age, needs or more.

So two examples are the underage. If we NEVER ask for ages we could be guilty of telling a teenager to take gear. That they still might is their concern. Another has been guys with next to no training experience at all. That a fella might be old enough is ok b ut with weeks in the gym? c'mon.

Something I've also pointed out is that we MUST have half an eye on the bigger picture. If bodies like the DEA etc already have half an eye on steroid sites - both those selling, those facilitating and the forums associated with them - let's not make it easy for them buy being too eager and polite with it by bending over backwards to hand out advice to some who really ought not to be using just because we can. Only for us to then regret doing so later on.

It's arguable (cos I've seen it done) that we are not moral arbiters etc. It's been said that 'it's not for us to decide'. If not us who then? It is, of course, impossible on a forum to stop those who ought not to do certain things from doing so, but let's at least have it in mind when we reply.

brother mobster...good point...i think we should help all evo brothers no matter what....
and yea age is important ...i agree but all of them agree to be over 18 when they sign up....yea under 18 possible but rare and we slam them down brother....

I never correct anyone on grammar or spellings ... cause honestly I am not great there either . Thank the Gods for spell check. However, when it comes to teenagers and under 25 year old kids taking gear I will definitely ALWAYS try to dissuade them from doing so. Their natural levels should be MORE than enough for them to consistently gain muscle and lose body fat. So I always say the same thing in regards to our youth . Diet, supplementation with protein and creatine , and good old fashioned training ( cardio and weight) .

I am not disillusioned however , I know they are going to do what they want to do no matter how much we tell them not to. They should see us as older and more experienced veterans , especially when it comes to PED’s , but they see us as “parents” telling them no. Now we know that kids love to rebel against their parents. So here is our problem. What do we do ? In my opinion we cannot condone that kind of behavior, but we are obligated to offer help on the situation we are presented with. And from what I have seen out here on EVO is just that ... men and women helping each other out EVEN though we may not agree. That’s what makes this place a better place . When it comes to our youth I will ALWAYS have the same plan and make the same attempts to make them try to alter future plans to use PED’s ...but if that fails ... I WILL try and help and guide them to the best of my ability while letting them know I do not condone their choices . Just my two cents ....

i see a lot of people who fuck around with each other on here and i think that is awesome.. they know each other, they are vets. that is 100% awesome and i love to see that and we know each other well enough to know it is cool.

but when it is a new person posting obviously we can't fuck with them the same way cause they don't know who is who. so we def want to welcome them.. and we all were new at some point. i always try and recommend they read the free articles on here to brush up on the info and if they are still stumped they should post so we can help them.

i think MB's point is we don't want to turn into meso where we bash newbs on their first day and make them feel bad. we aren't even close to that point and we should keep it that way.

Agreed I try to help but and be courteous but am guilty of being a dick when people just post insane stuff that is completely unsafe/irrational or sounds like spam so could be a little nicer.

Which goes back to a post a made in another thread.

We really should make it mandatory that if someone is asking for help or opinions on a cycle, the thread should begin with the basic bio:

Age
Weight
Height
Body Fat
Training frequency

I think it would streamline the discussion and avoid the torturous and often circuitous path that many threads seem to take.

we definitely dont want it to turn into meso... that would be the worst thing that could ever happen but it would never happen here

these are ALL important factors.. you need to have some background info to properly help people.. these are all very important numbers that only take a quick second to ask and for them to respond... i agree... its to look out for everyone and teach them the right way
