Morning guys.. got to the gym just before 5am to knock out a back session.
Tried everyone's tips/exercises and they all helped out dramatically.. thank you! I am going to rotate them into my back workouts each week.

@Napa1020 advice with the thumb and index was priceless! Instantly worked and first time I sat back and could feel my lats popping.
Thanks for helping out @LevButlerov with getting napa involved mate.
I have a video of me using the new grip to see if everything is correct (hopefully it uploads)
Also a couple of pictures - my lats are nothing compared to you guys but I'm on the right path I think, just got to keep grinding.
My only issue with the new grip is that it loads the weight on to these nodules I have in my hand on a tendon and can cause some pain. I am thinking maybe some kind of straps would relieve that whilst still keeping the same grip? (Pic attached of hand)

P.s ive also got absolutely no idea on how to pose to actually show the muscle properly 😅

This is how I do my pulldowns, here you'll see the back working. Control the weight and pull with the Elbows and squeeze at the bottom.of movement

You're a legend mate. Thanks for taking the time to do that.Your Back looks jacked bro!
Do you find the straps help you? I'm thinking of using them next time to stop the pain with these nodules on my hand.

You absolutely must use straps with your hands the way they are. It will allow you to pull more weight without harming your hands and wrists.

yikes that's a crazy thing with your hand
Yeh bro.. it's actually a bit common. I know a few people that have it and 1 person that actually had it operated on.
It doesn't cause any pain or hinder me unless I'm lifting weights. Mostly pulling since it loads up on the nodules and not on my palm

Noted. I thought the same.
I will start using them, I can see with the new grip that it will stop me from lifting heavy if I don't have some kind of assistance.
Cheers bro

The 5am grind is hardcore.
🤣 thanks bro.
4.30am leave home... gym.. then open the shop at 6.30am.
I've always worked out first thing in the morning as I've Always found it started my day well

This thought-provoking question encourages a nuanced exploration of athletic preferences. Top athletes weigh in with varied opinions, underscoring the significance of personalized decisions. Some opt for strap-free training to boost stabilizer strength, while others, including high-caliber athletes, effectively utilize straps like Versa Grip, tailored to their unique needs.

The straps incorporate a compact tongue constructed from an exceptionally durable material, distinct from traditional cloth or leather. The tongue's surface retains its sticky properties and features a small, perforated bump at its terminus, which resembles a miniature speed bump. This subtle feature significantly enhances stability when securing the strap to a handle. Additionally, the quick-release design enables rapid attachment, tightening, and detachment from handles or bars, while allowing for instantaneous release and effortless removal.

The moment you're finished, these straps are like, 'see ya!' - instant release. It's a snatch-and-grab, quick-draw situation. Those other brands and their leather tongues? Please, they're like wearing slippery shoes to a wrestling match - and don't even get me started on the fraying. These straps, however, are the real MVPs. They're like octopuses - wrapped around and ready to roll before you even know what's happening. Just wiggle your wrist, and voila! And if you get a little lazy, that clever speed bump's got some weight-lifting wizardry up its sleeve. Fast, fierce, and tiny - what more could you want?

I've heard of Vikings disease before

nice job man I think everybody has a little bit of an issue with certain things that we have to work around

good to see you continuing to grind don't let anything get in your way

Thanks bro. I'll have a look at them 👍

I wonder how many people have the same problem with their hands but just don't know it
I'm sure there would be heaps mate. Probably only gets brought to light once it causes them issues.
It doesn't really cause pain unless it gets loaded up.
Most people get the operation once it starts pulling tension on the finger as it gets worse (finger won't fully open up and will only go to like 45 degrees when palm is open)

good teamwork on this helping each other and giving advice on this condition
Yes I've been lucky.. Evo community been showing big love since I started my log.
Didn't know how it would go being a newbie with probably alot of silly questions but I can see my workouts have already got better form being on Evo

I'm glad that your hand issue doesn't cause many problems for you outside of the weight room that's at least something to be happy about

100% @caligirl85 & @Shrine ..
If I let these things get to me like my back and hand then I'd never do anything.
Luckily I've learnt to still do the things I want to do but know my limits or find a work around.
I spent alot of time learning my triggers for my back and avoiding them.
thanks for chiming in! Much appreciated

@Wheelhouse87 Stay on that grind bro!

Finished off the week with a solid arm session.
Had a insanely busy day yesterday and struggled to crack 1000 calories (mostly protein though).
Might go in for some cardio only tomorrow then rest up for the weekend.

solid arm day you really growing, I see the bis and tris getting bigger @Wheelhouse87 :)

Whatever you can do that will assist you on pulling movements or gripping movements in the gym will greatly increase success for you, especially with the hand isuse.

Thanks for your input mate. Going to use my straps but also might look into those Versa grips that were posted earlier in the thread.
I like that you can fold them over for push movements also.
Cheers bro

Hey guys,

Been a pretty busy week as I sold my house so a few things fell behind like proper meal prep after Tuesday till now.
Haven't eaten bad at all but probably been falling about 40g of protein short for the last few days.
Been having some really solid workouts everyday and found a new love for training my back since getting all the help from you guys last week.

Just purchased some Versa grips and looking forward to using them when they arrive, I think they will really allow me to up some weight with this hand issue.

I added spider curls to my arm day & damn! My arms got a serious full pump! Thinking of keeping them in the routine.

Few pictures from after today's workout. Really need to get these love handles sorted 🤣 I'm all ears for some help.. should I step cardio up? Do a bigger ab workout? I am losing weight each week so I am confident I can do it.

Log Start weight - 125.4kg
Today's weight - 122.9kg

Hope you all have a great weekend

Will do bro 🙌 should be back to normal this week with more time to ensure my meal prep is spot on.
Going to step the cardio up aswell. Do you guys have any suggestions for cardio workout that isn't ridiculously time consuming?
I use to do interval training in my 20's and found it dropped weight off pretty quickly.. 2min walk/2 min run for 20 mins on treadmill then weight training.
We have majority of cardio machines and I have had someone mention the assault bike is pretty good for high intensity cardio? I haven't used one before.

back training is important there's so many guys who are very strong up front but then they have weak backs which creates an imbalance
Guilty 🤣 but definitely changing that as of last week. Everyone's help to get me better connection with my lats has helped massively and I am genuinely enjoying back days now because I'm feeling it.

thanks for putting up the pictures we're gonna get you and way better shape don't worry

definitely your conditioning has lots of room to improve and we're going to get you there

it starts with the food prep and you're doing a great job

I see healthy vegetables I see healthy carbs and I see healthy protein that's what it's all about

bro look like you served in prison too. i like the prison tats. which one did you get last time you in slammer? we used to shank people for fun

Really appreciate all you guys jumping over showing the love, support & valuable knowledge.
It's definitely early days but everyone's help is making a difference already for my goal.

Cheers

Mon and Tuesdays Meal 1&2 for work. Used up what I had in the fridge today.
Turkey mince, sirloin steak, eggs, Celery, onion, asparagus, garlic, chilli, 1 cup brown rice (between all 4) and a tablespoon of low sodium soy.
46gr protein & 560 calories per container.

I need to make something like that. It looks really good.
Super easy to make bro and taste the goods.
I just find.i use alot of fresh herbs or garlic/ginger/chilli to get flavour instead of using high calorie sauces.
Low sodium soy is probably my exception but just stay clear for ones loaded with sugar like oyster sauce etc.

I have alot of Asian dishes I make that are just herbs and a splash of fish sauce or soy & taste unbelievably fresh👍

The best thing about Asian dishes are they taste so good, good for you as they have fresh veggies, and are low cal. I love green onions and Celery. Gives a good crunch and flavor. One thing I've noticed is that if you don't use much oil rice can still be really filling. I literally can't eat enough cals when eating rice.

100% bro.. I'll share some more of my Asian dishes which are exactly what you like as I cook them.
Thai laarb salad (chicken mince with fresh herbs, chilli fish sauce)
Thai chilli basil beef, Vietnamese shredded chicken salads - heaps of good healthy dishes 👍

@Wheelhouse87 Keep it coming bro weight is coming down!

My Versa grips arrived yesterday & I gave them a run this morning For a back workout and some chest.
Really impressed with them & highly recommend for anyone with hands issues like myself.
Utilising these along with @Napa1020 thumb and index tip has helped massively. Loving back days now.

@Wheelhouse87 legit, you pushed it hard, strong arms man :) and strong shoulders too there

Another week down.
Stepped up weight across the board this week - felt great, hit all my protein and calories spot on.
Got a bit deflated through the week as I weighed in at 123.8kg Mon,Tues & we'd but dropped down Thursday morning.. maybe water weight or something? My food was spot on so I was a bit frustrated with myself.
Come this morning and I weighed in at 122.1kg which I'm stoked about, about another .7kg down from last week and it marks 20kg loss since I started back at the gym earlier this year (not at the start of this log)
Have a great weekend guys

Few more meals from this week.
First one was dinner and Meal 1&2 Wednesday which was Egg Foo Young (Chinese Omelette) with chicken, prawns, bean Sprouts, green onion, garlic and eggs. There is a sauce that goes with it but I only have a couple of tablespoons sparingly but my wife drowns hers in it 🤣
Some fresh atlantic Salmon Sashimi with fresh herbs for a light dinner yesterday.
followed by a nice piece of Sirloin steak with mustard, salad and homemade air fryer sweet potato chips.

Don't get frustrated with short weekly stagnate times. Weight loss is never linear. Water weight can fluctuate 7 lbs in a day.
This is good to know bro - thank you for the insight. I suspected it may have been water weight as I have been smashing training and strict with my eating. Cheers again
