Approved Log Getting Fit for Fatherhood - My Weightloss Journal

My Weightloss journey with Retatrutide - Sponsored by @ZenithHealth

Daily Log 26/1

Happy Australia Day to all my EVO brothers! Scored the day off work, but you know that doesn’t mean a day off the iron. Hit the gym first thing, then kicked back with the family for some early Born Day celebrations, still made sure the wife whipped up my signature brekky. Spent the arvo tackling some overgrown grass, then wrapped up the night with a solid feed at the local. An Aussie Day done right!

It was Weigh in day today, skipped last week as I was on vacation.

Previous Weight: 116.8kg (12/01)

Current Weight: 114.6kg

Solid progress! Proud to have continued the momentum through the vacation! 💪

Diet

Eggs with avocado in the morning post workout, chicken sandwiches for lunch with my newly landed Muscle Nation protein water, finished off with a sizable portion of steak with some greens! Topped the evening with some protein yoghurt and some walnuts.

Nice update mate and congrats on the weightloss!

Well done hitting your macros even with going out for dinner. The steaks look good!

Workout looks good too. Good selection and number of exercises. If I was going to do anything I'd consider swapping the chest flies with a chest press just because a press is bigger bang for your buck.

Super update there brother. Training is coming along nicely with great volume in there. Love the diet log 😋 and who doesn't like a food porn pic. Journey is going along well bro 🩵
Cheers bro! 💙

I do miss a good parmy, might blow out my calories though!!

Loving the muscle nation protein water. Great bang for buck, got them on special on Amazon. A little on the sweet side but they are easy to drink.

Thanks bro! I'm thinking of incorporating a Pull/Push A and B workouts so i can hit different exercises. I'll try put it together and let me know what you think. I'll definitely add the Chest press.

Racked up a heap of steps, and wrapped things up with a game of futsal ⚽ with the lads. Safe to say…I’m absolutely buggered haha.

Woke up feeling a little sore from Futsal last night. Got into the gym nonetheless for a Leg workout! Felt some tightness in the hamstrings after the second set but pushed through and completed the third set after some stretching. Had work today so was running on a tight schedule, was lucky enough to get called to start a little later so I didn't have to rush through my training. Keeping the Macros in check, got in some extra steps whilst at work.

Diet

Eggs in the morning post workout, Chicken Sandwiches with Muscle Nation protein water for lunch, Chicken, potatoes and broccolini for dinner! Evening snack with some protein yogurt and walnuts to get the protein and fat macros in. Drank 3.5L of water.

Daily Log 28/1

Daily Log 29/1

Rest day from the gym today, which meant I treated myself to a little sleep in since I wasn’t starting work until the afternoon. After finally rolling out of bed and grabbing some brekky, I headed out for a walk with the family. The heat was no joke, I managed to rack up plenty more at work. My calories ended up a bit low since my break wasn’t until my usual dinner time, so I grabbed some Subway on the way in. Still managed to hit my protein and fat goals, so I’ll take that as a win.

Dragged myself out of bed for a morning push session after a late night at work, and honestly wasn’t feeling it at first. But by the end of the workout I felt much better. I’ve got a couple of days off now, so I spent the afternoon ticking off a few things around the house and keeping it pretty relaxed. Wrapped up the day with an evening stroll with the kids..

Diet

Post workout protein shake and eggs in the morning, Chicken Sandwiches with Muscle Nation protein water for lunch. Extra lean mince with potatoes for dinner. Protein shake and some walnuts in the evening.

Dropping 8kg in a month is seriously good work if you keep that rate of weightloss up you will hit your goal in like 3 months, which would be really well done for a first timer.

You won't notice massive changes in the early stages, but trust me my bro each week it will get more and more noticeable, and soon you won't even recognise yourself in the mirror.

Just keep doing what you're doing my bro and trust the process.

Im actually really excited to see in the coming months how your body will progress, you've already done an amazing job so far

Bro seriously that weight loss is crazy! It’s awesome for you to see all of that hard work paying off. You may not feel it or see it. But it’ll only be another 4 or 8kg when you start getting comments and other people will notice who don’t know you’re on a weight loss journey!

As you probably know you shouldn’t expect to keep your weight loss as fast as your body gets more accustomed to your diet and training regiment. In my journey, cause I also started at 122kg, at 115kg I felt maybe a little lighter and far less bloated while at 109kg I feel visually different and can really notice changes in myself. I look forward to you seeing and feeling your progress aswell! But holy crap, the scales don’t lie 👀 awesome achievement so far!

Thanks brother! Trusting the process!

It actually great to look back and reflect even from beginning my journey. I was obviously losing so much weight initially because I was on a massive caloric deficit. Weight loss has been steady at ~1kg/ week since upping the calories and protein and hitting the weights.

Yeah 1kg /week is definitely reasonable that should absolutely be your goal, if you are doing more than that then you should be very proud

Daily Log 1/2

Had a late night yesterday, so the morning definitely hit harder than usual. Still, I dragged myself out of bed and made it to the gym for leg day.

I’d promised the kids a day out.. The weather wasn’t great, but we still managed to have a good day out.

Tomorrow the kids head back to school for their first day of the new year, and I’m back to work after three days off. Safe to say, tonight is going to be an early one.

Diet

Post workout protein shake and eggs with avocado in the morning, Had a late lunch as there wasn't any healthy options where we went so i had Chicken Sandwiches when we got home with Muscle Nation protein water. I didn't feel like eating anything heavy after the late lunch so i whipped up some protein yoghurt (200g greek yoghurt and 2 scoops protein powder) and added some banana and crushed walnuts sprinkled with some cinnamon powder.

Daily Log 31/1

Kicked off the morning with a solid pull session at the gym, then spent the day out with the kids and catching up with family. Wrapped it up with dinner at home before heading out for a date night with the wifey. All in all, a pretty great day. Decent macros, slightly lower than usual, but still on point.

Diet

Post workout protein shake and eggs in the morning, Subway salad with Muscle Nation protein water for lunch. Extra lean mince and chicken with potatoes and greens for dinner. Protein shake and some almonds in the evening.

@kamsikazee good job on the hammer curls and the supplements that you're putting together. The sleep is also really solid. Good to see that you're tracking what's going on.

@kamsikazee hopefully one day you'll get to the point where you don't need any assistance on the pull-ups. Pull-ups are a great way to really work the back and arms. There's nothing better.

CONSISTENCY!! and smart training. that will be the key
Trying hard to stay consistent, logging definitely helps to keep me accountable, not too sure about the smart training part, that may need some work.
Yep and you get it out of the way in case something else happens.

Great update as always my bro

Everything looking really good here bro. How is your journey going?
I am enjoying the journey, the results have been steady. I started at 135kg, got down to 122.5kg before stumbling on EVO. Have had some great advice from the bros to fix my supplementation and nutrition and have got into the routine of gym. I weight myself weekly, last one was on my 2/2 update.

Yeah you're doing an amazing job, if you are around 6 foot then a good weight for you will be about 75-80kg with no muscle, so i think once you get down to there (which you will) time to go crazy on the weights

Daily Log 4/2

Woke up feeling a little battered and bruised from last night’s kickabout. Casual game or not, the boys never shy away from a few heavy challenges. Still, nothing that could keep me out of the gym. Kicked off the morning with a solid Pull session, followed up with 35 minutes of cardio, and managed to rack up plenty of steps throughout the day. Calling that a win, needed a rebound after last nights loss.

I got the chance to listen to an Evolutionary podcast today, Episode #229 - TRT formula product worth it? Shout out to @stevesmi and @Mobster for the best episode yet on TRT, something I am considering for the future, it was very informative.

Love to see how much cardio you are doing, 35 mins on treadmill is a very good effort, do you find your knees can handle it ok?

I found a great way to maximise calorie output while not fucking with my knees was using the crosstrainer, putting it on a very high resistance and going for about 1 hour would burn about 800-1000 calories, something to consider if your joints arent holding up

I was experiencing a fair bit of pain in my knees when I was heavier, not so much recently, but I know a lot of people my age are having issues injury ACL etc through soccer etc so it's probably a good idea to try and prevent causing extra strain. I will consider switching it up and using the cross trainer and maybe bike to mix it up.

Trying hard to stay consistent, logging definitely helps to keep me accountable, not too sure about the smart training part, that may need some work.

So true, avoid any hesitation later on in the day after a long day at work.

@kamsikazee Solid updates....keep going.......

Is the carbs intake good? I've purely been focusing on hitting protein >250g and fats ~50g and fitting it under 1900 calories.
try to keep them low 100 and less

Good to know I'm generally consuming under 100, that one meal with the rice pushed it above yesterday though, oops.

Daily Log 5/2

Ankle’s a little bruised from soccer the other night but nothing dramatic. Still, I pushed through and made it to the gym for leg day. Solid session overall, and I even brought the hip exercises back into the routine. Wrapped it up with a 30 minute walk on treadmill.

Got a decent amount of walking in throughout the day too. I wanted to do more, but parts of Sydney hit around 38 degrees, so I had to dial it back and not melt into the pavement.

Diet

Macros as they should be.

Protein shake and eggs with avocado in the morning, Chicken Sandwiches for lunch with Muscle Nation protein water, Large subway salad with double serving of chicken for dinner and finished the day with some protein mixed in with yogurt and walnuts.

Protein shake and eggs with avocado in the morning, Chicken Sandwiches for lunch with Muscle Nation protein water, Large subway salad with double serving of chicken for dinner and finished the day with some protein mixed in with yogurt and walnuts.

careful with soccer but you still did it trained hard :D

Do you think my workouts are sufficient to slow down the loss of muscle? Is there no way of avoiding the muscle loss?
Yeah your workouts will slow it down for sure, but the unfortunate reality is that because you have so much weight to lose some muscle will be lost in the process.

Its not a big issue though and nothing you will notice personally, to retain as much muscle as possible you can jump on things like HGH or masteron but I wouldn't recommend it for you as your main issue is your bf%, I think the goal should be to lose the weight first and then build muscle and then you can start the typical bulk/cut bodybuilding cycle

@Allupfromhere @Pigsy @LevButlerov thoughts?

I will be playing again next week, but might have to take a few weeks off soccer after that due to work commitments which sucks because I do enjoy it and get great cardio out of it at the same time.
be careful please

Nice update brother. Hope the ankle is getting better, I also hope that you repaid the favour to whomever tagged you in the game. Know I would have worn a card for the level up 😈.
Great workout on the pins and an even better "office" view bro 🩵

If it was competitive and not among mates I definitely would have dished out more than was served! It was a just a clumsy challenge, there is always next week though haha

Great workout and lovely breakfast pic bro

Nice workout , suggestion

I would put reverse flys first before chest presses. Wakes up the rear delts, mid traps and rhomboids , puts you in a stronger safer position for pressing , reduce chance of injury. When the upper back is engaged , you will keep a better arch , press in a more efficient path and get better mind muscle connection

I just got caught up on your log brother and I am so impressed! Your dedication to this is so evident and the daily updates are setting the standard on here for perseverance and a determination to log, you clearly really want this and it's working for you. I love being a part of someone's daily journey and watching them progress in their goals.

Today was a challenging one. My wife was rushed to the hospital this morning, which meant taking the day off work and spending most of the day there. Thankfully, it turned out to be nothing too serious, and for that I’m incredibly grateful.
I was happy to read this worked out okay for you both.

Work was relentless in the gruelling heat, so I treated myself to an ice cream in the evening to cool off.
Naughty boy! LOL

My wife was adamant I should sit it out, but I couldn’t leave the boys short-handed. Turns out it was a great session. I’m feeling seriously sore now
Like you say this is your happy place so it's a mental health must

Bonus pic from my evening walk.
Beautiful, thanks for sharing!

lower weights, up your reps you'll get more burn and pumps
As I got caught up I thought the same thing here too.

I think the Reta is really helping get rid of any noise for any snacking in between meals.
I will bro, once it saturates it's magic!

they have these SiSU health machines
Bro, watch the movie SISU it's insane!

Mate, 8kg down in as little in a month is world-class.
Agree with @R.AP and the boys here big time! We are our own worst critiques so allow me to say that 8kg in a month is phenomenal keep up the great work and the daily grind you're displaying!
