Veteran Log Mobsters Training Diary

Thanks. Even though I'm more 'lifter' than 'builder' I can do the quad separation pose. I also notice the odd shin vein when 'on'
i want you to eventually get away from powerlifting. i think you have the genetics for bodybuilding more then you think

You never know but unlikely at 60+ years of age. I DID start out that way. When a LOT younger I had a split bicep and 4-pack

On the way down I was 'shall I do the planned 370kg/814lbs or shall I max out?'. Part of the maxing out was tied into thought that if (and I KNOW I would have done it)I'd have done that I'd be good for a max. So...

Hatfield Squat
Bar x 12, 120kg x 8, 230kg x 4 (deliberately holding back here), 300kg x 1 (belt only), 380kg x 1 (belt and knee wraps. Then do I do a 20kg PB of 440kg/968lbs or do I do the 1000lbs? Decision made. 460kg loaded and done!! That's 1014+lbs. A lifetime PB. I may never do this much again but still wanted to do this before my 61st birthday in a few weeks time

As you can imagine I didn't much feel like doing anything else and yet was still at the gym for over 2 hours lol

This was powered by a combination of hard ass working for 45 years and my current TRT (200mg Test C). In addition I've done 4 weeks of 50mg Var and switched that to 50mg of DBol the last few weeks plus 20mg a day throughout of LGD. All via @PSL and all @EuroPharmacies. @~Vision~

bros you pushing some big weight. that looks like perfect form too. good job ! @Mobster

That is insane weight! GREAT JOB 😁
Can’t believe how low your doses were as well. Further shows how much of a beast you are @Mobster
Even I had a think about the doses. My last cycle I pushed to 1.6g which was of no additional benefit. I just do well around 800mg total. That this cycle was TRT and 690mg is kinda crazy when I squatted 1000lbs+

Bit looser today (got my shoes and socks on lol) so I'l;l walk to the gym and see what I can do

The squat, cue look of shock lol, had an impact so Tuesday off. Took baby steps in terms of seeing what I could do today in lieu of Tuesday as a rest day. Did more stretching and staying limber.
Seated Press

Rear Delt Machine
to stack +1.25kg x 4

Saxon Bar
With the biggest issue being bending over I didn't push this today.

Wow! 😮 that is Incredible.
Do you get a sore back from loading that much weight on your shoulders?

I wish I could hit those numbers myself, my max squat of 245kg doesn’t come anywhere close to your 460kg.

When I did the 420kg in Feb I did. Nice red raw mark lol. My hips ached for 2 days on the 460kg and my lower right back is still stiff as is a muscle inside my right thing. I did a LOT more stretching yesterday.

I've done 18 x 230kg lol but to be fair 245kg is still better than 90% of gym users

@~Vision~

@Mobster you are the elite of the elite, sir!

I recall you saying on the podcast you're from South East London? Very near to me, you may know some guys I've trained with in the past who were into strongman/powerlifting

Andy "Ox", Terry Smith, Tony Stevens, John Spreadbury...any of those names ring a bell?
No. By the time I started to get into strength I was on the cusp of leaving London. I trained at Flaxman Sports Centre (Camberwell), Camberwell Swimming Baths then Matrix Gym (Peckham). Later on Blue Rock Lower Sydenham and a couple of other places. Tony S I heard of. Steve Z over in Norwood too

Once I got going and was flat out competing I was in Gloucester (my business had a warehouse so that's where we trained too). We had an Andy 'Ox' there (can't recall his surname right now) as well as a bunch of 90 and 105kg strongmen. Top boy would have been Laurence Shahalei.

I can't remember Andy's surname either but it begins with an L. He's gone off grid now, no social media and lives on a boat. Would have been 90-105kg strongman

LIDBURY!!!

100% know him. One of the fellas that trained on occasion with us in Gloucester and competed in the comp we put on called the Severn Valley

I found a few mentions on FB. One was my old business partner and him competing and also when Andy was coaching at Kings Gym. I THINK there might be a pic etc somewhere with Andy and James Hollingshead

Found a reference to Gareth lifting in 2013 lol. Age ha ha

It'll be at least a few weeks before we plan shit out. For example getting his bench back to 120kg/264lbs and then onward to big boy numbers. Two to 3 macro cycles.

I remember you saying you don't like 1 armed stuff for back training @Mobster

Is there a specific reason you do 1 arm dumbbell rows? Are they better somehow?

It's less that than what I see people doing. For example I've done one arm cable rows, one arm hammer type mid rows and so on.

What I dislike is so-called 'lat activation' type rows. Usually done on a cable machine. With light weights. Most of the time said athlete hasn't got much of a lat to 'activate'. While they MIGHT feel the lat working they need to do the bigger, harder and heavier work first.

First BUILD then shape and refine

Obviously I'm more strength focused but the heavy work has built me some lats. I'll see if I can throw a pic up

Ahh ok I misunderstood your point previously. It was in reference to lat work.

Build then shape. I like that!

The funny thing is what you consider light work is very heavy for guys like me and most people lol

I'm lucky, genetically speaking, that even when I was a would be bodybuilder, I never needed lots of sets. I looked at what Mike Mentzer said, read lots of books (still have 100's), saw what stimulated the most muscle and so on.

Obviously what I've lifted all the way back when WAS light. A max press of 100lbs x 8 was a HUGE deal for me back in London in the late 90's. I warm up now with more. Aged 15 a girl curled my bench weight.

Equally doing what I've done can and does (I've had this checked out BTW and I'm fine) strain. Like Monday's squat of 836lbs x 4 = blood when I shit this week. When I did the 1014lbs I couldn't put socks on or tie my shoes for 2 days - so sandals it was lol

Holy shit... you're name should be Monster

Who needs shoes when you can squat over 1000lbs lol. Jesus...that probably puts you in the 0.000000001% of the world. You're basically Bigfoot walking around lol. I'm sure you exist but I've never seen one

i gotta take you pier fishing with me or on the boat. nobody would fuck with me lol
When he sets the hook he'll probably rip the fishes jaw outta its mouth lol

I wonder how quick @Mobster could haul up a Goliath grouper on a steel line.

Really people do that?? You always hear that about surfing but the kinda people who surf it's kinda understandable. Didn't realize pier fishing was like that to. I guess there are just assholes everywhere

pier fishing is the nastiest place to fish. when its crowded and lines get tangled tempers flare. usually at piers the regulars treat everyone else like crap. its the whole territorial bs. you will earn a level of respect from others if you are a good fisherman though and give others fish etc.

stuff like that happens on the water too with boats. plenty of YT vids of boaters going at it cause a boat comes up to where they are fishing etc the big issue is too people who troll lines out.. 3, 4, 5 lines at a time. and some asshole drives by and runs the trolls over cause he isn't paying attention. also people get all triggered if you speed past them too close. its road rage on the water. its made worse when you aren't catching fish of course

Can't believe that happens out on the water too. The ocean is such a big place. There's room for everyone.

If someone cut my lines when I was trolling I'd be pissed too lol. I've definitely given people shit for getting to close when I'm trolling.

Seems like I'm Florida there are a ton of rich idiots with fancy boats who have no clue how to operate them. That YT channel wavvy boats or something inlet...those videos are hilarious.

yes the weekends and holidays you want to avoid public places. no piers, no boating, etc. too many people, too many drunk idiots.

Same up here on the lakes. Drunks everywhere. I usually only fish at night on long weekends. I'll take out the jet ski during the day but no boats. The jet ski is fast and agile enough to avoid anything.

'Science based' vs brutal hard work x time x weight lifted =
bro you got a big size @Mobster but we could still take you easy in prison shower. gonna need about 5 of us though
