14/01 86KG

whats up team, yes its ur boy, playfields. he is back! and he has gained sooo much strength and muscle in his 5 month bulk! (and fat), but he's off to a wayyyyy better start this time around than last bulk--I'm hoping this cut should only last around 2-3 months and have way better conditioning than last time (last cut was about 4 months).

If you followed my last journey, you'll see that my strength has gone through the roof since last time, instead of smith inclining 60kg for 12 reps or so, I'm now able to smith incline 100kg for 9 reps. My one rep max on the smith incline has gone from around 90-95kg (200-210lbs i think?), to now 140kg! (315 lbs for u yanks!). Obviously my diet isn't very strength oriented you'll see, it's mostly a keto type diet and it's only like that due to easier adherence to the diet. 2 weeks into the cut and we're still maintaining basically all strength. This cut will be as brutal as the last one.

In terms of cycle, I plan to really only titrate up the tren if im feeling much weaker relative to how light I get. In terms of fat burners, it's possible I might add 200mg dnp in Autumn and maybe titrate up the clen later on if I'm not feeling it anymore.

I think 8k steps was achieved during my sesh? regardless, I have night shift tonight so I'll be getting in the rest + more during then.

currently I've only had my post workout meal today, I train fasted.

@playfields I would dump those Quest Bars. They've been found to have arsenic in them and other harmful chemicals. Definitely things you don't want in your body.

I think the key with you is cleaning up your diet. @playfields once you do that, then sky's the limit. Make sure you put in the hours in the gym and keep getting conditioned.

This is looking really strong, my man. Keep up the good work. This is a hell of a cycle that you put together. The only thing I don't agree with is the clen. It's just not necessary here. You're only going to hurt yourself more than help. @playfields

Welcome back brother! Nice to see no clenbuterol this time too. Looking forward to lots of updates and you getting some whole foods in for protein. Your protein count is great I'd add more meat and eggs as your sources.

Probably too much, but I just love training, it's non-negotiable for me!

15/01 85kg (posting on the 16th)

Shorter session than usual on the 15th, woke up late and went to gym a bit later than I usually would so I had to speed things along and scrap some exercises because I had work. Definitely had a good workout regardless. On myfitnesspal I added a 'quick-add' of 1000 calories because I had some nachos and guacamole that my brother made up--it was a bit of a rare occasion so I didn't mind enjoying some of it. To go from 94kg to 85kg (now 84.5kg as of typing this) in roughly 2.5 weeks has made me become quite flat--but, happily, strength is surprisingly holding strong which I thank my protein intake for. In order to become a bit fuller and improve pumps, I'm starting to drink a lot of sodium, potassium and water.

Will be throwing out another log entry later today/tonight when I get my sesh in, cheers

15/01 85kg (posting on the 16th)

Shorter session than usual on the 15th, woke up late and went to gym a bit later than I usually would so I had to speed things along and scrap some exercises because I had work. Definitely had a good workout regardless. On myfitnesspal I added a 'quick-add' of 1000 calories because I had some nachos and guacamole that my brother made up--it was a bit of a rare occasion so I didn't mind enjoying some of it. Push day today + biceps, forearms, abs
Yesterday during my rest day, I attempted a 'load day', basically I had 400-500 grams of carbs and I tried to shovel it all into my muscles with insulin. I was taking 10ius of novorapid per meal and had 5 meals (100gs of carbs each roughly), I stayed roughly in a deficit calories wise but I didn't have anywhere near as much protein as I usually do. Yesterday I weighed 83kg and today I'm weighing 85.9kgs so not bad and I definitely got a big pump. However it's honestly made dieting today more difficult because it feels like my body is just dying for more carbs, so I'm probably not gonna do that again and just prioritise adhering to my current diet which is working really well for me and shredding me fast asf.

Today's session felt a bit sluggish because I woke up a bit earlier than I usually do, but 1 hour in and I was awake. Diet today had some carbs pre workout because I was trying to see if I could abuse more insulin, but as said previously, I reckon I'll stick to training fasted, my body likes to shutdown and sleep when it has food in it lol.

Then up the carbs you silly animal! I'm walking proof if you check my 2025 log vs. my 2026 log you can go high carb and still stay lean and they keep you full and dense with some extra mmphh in the gym to boot. For a lot of us it's a matter of experimenting with all different types and I spend all of December trying different carbs and I've got the ones down pat that are clean for me. Up them bro.
The worst carb for me was granola... Godawful stuff that is, whale belly bloat and does nothing for me at all!

Apologies for the 3-4 day gap, just been tired after gym and honestly slacking more on my log this time around! I promise you tho we are not slacking at the gym—or diet—or even recovery.

Yesterday, I complained to my GP about a week ago my shift work schedule, and he gave me a blood test, now 1 week later, he’s prescribed me a statin for my atrocious cholesterol! Lmao. Hr did also prescribe me a medication called zopiclone which is like a nonbenzo sleep aid, it can be addictive and also builds a tolerance, however I’m not needing to abuse it everyday, just once or twice a week so I’m perfectly fine with accepting this medication.

Food adherence has been perfect, 300g of protein has been preserving muscle and strength exceptionally—I was not able to hold this much strength last time; using less gear as well.

Last 2 days were a bit of a light session, I was going to the gym with one of my mates, he’s a beginner so I didn’t want him to get crazy DOMS or any injuries so we took it easy and I followed his lead, mostly teaching him basic form and keeping weight low but high reps.

I hate zopiclone and found it very easy for dependence (not addiction but dependence). If you take it every night you'll need more and more eventually. Stick to PRN only when needed. If you have the blue ones that are 7.5mg those are the high dose one. The white ones are 5mg. You can start by biting or cutting them in half and that should work fine. The blue ones are strong.

man we've really packed on some muscle last 5 months, I was definitely not this lean last time I was 84kg, and I definitely wasn't smith inclining 4 plates consistently for 8 reps. meals are still very high in protein and very low in carbs but I try to refeed with carbs every weekend (controlled).

Interesting approach with the evening and morning workout, is there a reason you dont just do one session?

i do one session each day 5-6 days a week, sometimes they’re in the morning and most of the time they’re in the evening. If i do a morning workout, its because I’m working in the evening, and if I’m training in the evening its due to night shift/or its my day off.

I don’t do 2 sessions a day, it might just of been a bit of overlap between days.

Doesn’t have a overstimulated wife with kids waiting for him at home. Living his best life 2 sessions a day. Hours spent there for the workout and eye candy. Getting caught in the crosshairs of tripods 👀

I think 4 plates on a smith incline is maybe 45lbs less than a regular bench press. So maybe 4 plates on smith = 175lbs?

My protein sources is completely meat (chicken) with the exception of 1 highly filtered protein drink and a quest bar which are both high quality.
