Aesthetics or Mass?

lilweezy

New member
Alright bro's what are ya'lls main goal? to acquire aesthetics and be shredded as furck? Or to gains as much mass as humanly possible?

Mine is to be aesthetic:) we'll see if this here cycle can get me closer to my goal;)

SergiConstance-Irn-Jan14-MichaelNeveux-642.webp

Functional strength with enough aesthetics to look better than 90% of the population. I'm lean but could give a shit about abs.

Ya but ladies and judges do ;)

KRAZIEONE

My wife is gorgeous and I'm not planning on competing... But at 6'2" 212lbs I have visible abs.

15% was my last measurement.

I think I'm closer to 12% now - 4 weeks into a Var/Mast/Test run...

That's a good cutter stack for sure. U will dry out. Remember lots of water and fish oils. Tren is gonna dry out your joints after a while

KRAZIEONE

Polish is a powerlifter, in my blood too brother, so we have to be careful bc sometimes we just want to move as heavy a weight as possible....screw abs lol!!!!

Coming from the guy who has an 8 pack. Lies I tell you all lies!!!!!

KRAZIEONE

Power lifters are always a bit thicker through the middle and I don't think it is that their fat it's that the can out squat you and that adds some serious mass. I like going for aesthetics but I also want to increase mass naturaly so that both can be in harmony.

I am 6"4" @ at 225 very lean pounds right now. I have a four pack....those bottom abs are hiding behind something....lol I'll call it loose skin from when I was fat. :(

Dude! This is my total problem! I've been squatting heavy so long for powerlifting that my diaphragm is just plain huge from pressing against the belt. I have visible abs, but if I'm wearing a shirt it looks like I have a gut! Even stomach vacuums aren't helping...

Anyway, I'm looking into aesthetics now more than just lifting heavy stuff.

Ya that's big boy status at that bf. Lol. I'm 6'2" 212# and like 11%.

KRAZIEONE

I've been 219 at 12% but it was 2 years ago and I was very uncomfortable at that size. I think I could handle it better now but gettin to that size and level of low bf is another thing. For some reason 225 is stuck in my head and that seems to be the magic number for me.

Size and strength. I love aesthetics though. I am 6'1" and plan to be 220 and around 6-8% body fat. I just want to be strong and look good.

Just so you guys know 6-8% bf is NOT comfortable. There is no need to walk around at such a low bf.

I personally like walking around at 10-12%

this is correct... I was 5% body fat in my mid 20's and it was very hard. not only was my diet ridiculous but I was running 45 miles a week. it wasn't comfortable at all especially when you have an office job and are stuffing your face all day with calories to offset what I would burn off. I think 10-12% if perfect. you can look good plus be strong. and if you want to compete then you can cut down into the single digits

assuming you are a normal person with a normal job. now if my life was just lifting it would be a different story

Well said. It amazes me when guys want really low Bf. I hate it. My skin is paper thin and it's like my skin is wrapping my muscles.

10-12% I still have abs. I can lift heavy and I look bigger (in my opinion). Plus my diet doesn't have to be insanely strict. Plus 10-12% bf easy ideal because You won't need to prep for so long for a show!

Everyone loves zyzz. Yeah he was shredded but he was small....

his tactics to get shredded were very wreckless. sweating, diuretics, and stims 24/7. its all fun until you end up dead. the one thing the human body cannot tolerate is de-hydration, it will kill you faster than anything

There are far more impressive physiques than zyzz. Jaco de bryun or any of the men physique class

I disagree. Sub 6% isn't comfortable but I don't get that low unless I'm in prep. 6-8% is my normal range year round. I get to 6-7% during my summer cycle and a maximum of 8% during the winter. Its very easy for me to maintain with my dieting and training strategy. I enjoy 3 cheat meals per week of whatever I want. Burgers, pizza, whatever on workout days (M,W,F). People would shit if they seen some of the things I indulge in and enjoy eating The other days I do cardio and am in a slight defecit. I stay ripped while adding mass and strength. For me its the holy grail and it works beautifully

I'm with you on this Rick - but different strokes for different folks I guess. My metabolism is so high I can get away with more than others perhaps.

Aesthetics is what I'm looking for now.
But coming from a Powerlifting background, I'm always going to be a Bit Bigger..................... JP

I ran around at 7% from before high school through early college, easy. And I sure as shit wasn't eating chicken breast and rice, or oatmeal with a scoop of protein powder in it.

You must be a Genetic freak lol or have tranny blood in ya 😉

wait until you get there. You'll just want to be 250 then.

Haha when i 1st started lifting properly I wanted the Ryan Reynolds look (smh) so the way its progressing you are probably right but i doubt i could ever get to that size

If you think 220 was uncomfortable before, wait till you hit 250!

If it's easy - why don't you look like that?
Ha. Who says I don't? Plus I'm old. I don't even care that Much anymore. I looked like him naturally in my late 20' early 30's. If I really knuckled down for 3 months I could look like that. I'm just old and tired

KRAZIEONE

Nah - I don't think it is wise to post personal pics on this type of web site. Thanks though. (picking on a guy pushing 60.....shame on you....lol)
I'm not picking on anyone. I offered a challenge because you challenged me saying I don't look like Ryan Reynolds. So why not out your ego where your mouth is. Lol.

KRAZIEONE

aesthetics always has been and always will be... several factors for me but comfort is the first and foremost... i can EASILY put on some serious size and have done so many times but its just completely uncomfortable for me... im also so big into cardio vascular training and i like to really generate a lot of muscular endurance when im lifting as well... volume lifting really adds to that but still builds lean muscle... don't get me wrong, i want nice, clean size but i MUST be shredded all year or im not comfortable, and comfort is extremely important to living a happy life where you can be the most productive and feel the best...

come on guys its the internet. everyone on here is 6'2" 260 at 4% body fat and can bench 600

some of the guys on forums are so fucking cocky but I never see them put up a single picture of themselves.. hmmmm.. or they put up a pic with a shirt on or copy/paste on google images and guys suck them off. (see reps for jesus for example)

I always wondered how on the internet every person can bench 3 plates yet at my gym I have only seen myself and a handful of other guys do it. and I go to a juicehead gym. its always been a wonder of mine.. I see 6foot dudes who are pushing 235 easy who can barely do 300 on the bench like once or twice with a spotter.

here is the way it works on forums. when in doubt add 50% to your lifts and deduct 50% from your body fat to give yourself an accurate internet profile .. oh and remember you were a former IFBB champion too but you didn't get your pro card cause the judge didn't like white guys or something

Haha I feel where you’re coming from Steve but I think a lot of the guys posting pics (myself included) have been fairly transparent as to where we are in relation to our goals. Of course you are going to meet some liars and douches, hell I meet those people on a daily basis but you are 100% right - the internet makes it easy for people to look better.

Prior to 1st cycle I was closegripping 3 plates natty for damn near 10 years. If u want to lift bigger weight u must train with them regularly, period. I believe it is all about being humble and knowing that there is so much for us all to learn. Everyone is a bit different in terms of structure and body types, tie ins, etc. Get after it, add some muscle to ur frame to see what direction would be best for you. Train and eat accordingly!

I went to a crossfit gym and not a single person could do 3 plates on the bench. the record on the board for best bench ever was 325 lol... the guy who set it wouldn't let me bench cause he didn't want me to knock him off the top.

yet you go on crossfit forums and 80% of the guys can do it.. doesn't translate to in person at all.

you can actually make a living off challenging guys to actually lift what they claim online.

Steve,
I agree. I spent many, many years researching lifting programs the previous 19 30's guys used to build strength and mass with
So I have a really good idea what's possible natty. Then u add juice. Well I also research what current powerlifter who juice can do. So when someone comes on here and spouts off I just lol. Also looks, I've seen what naties can do weight and height wise. Why I was able to bust that one dude who was on here claiming natty who looked fukin juiced to the gills. I don't get it....why lie?

I don't understand people’s egos sometimes. Crossfit to me is just another fad - I see people joining but perhaps I don't understand their culture and honestly I don't even want to. I think if you are going to lift and build your body this is a very personal thing. Everyone is going to be different and people need to realize that it isn't what they say it’s what they do and the goals the keep. The main problem that has kept me away from most gyms is meeting these types of people - I am a very kind guy and can talk with anyone but I would rather spend my time talking with good people and not folks who feel they always have something to prove. Like Casca mentioned you have to be humble in life to build up and that comes with letting others hold you accountable and not writing checks that you can't cash.

It don't matter if they are telling the truth or lying because their is always someone bigger and badder wherever you go. I remember I used to military 340 lb. for a triple, and I thought nobody could touch me. Until this one dude came in the gym and did a 430 lb. military for a triple, with perfect form. True story! I stormed out of the gym pissed to high heaven...

crossfit is more of a social fad if you are into group thing... being a gym rat is like masterbating and crossfit is like an orgy. one is solo and one is with a group. if you are into that sort of thing then crossfit can be fun, a lot of people react better to that group setting than they do motivating themselves on their own.

its not for me at all but when the owner of the one near me is not there a buddy of mine will sneak me in for free and I will do the class with everyone else just for something different

Idk why people get so hung up on numbers. Who really cares. U bench what u bench u weigh what u weigh. If u like how u look and feel, then who gives a fuck. I'm just so sick of hearing "oh ya bro well I pull 400 and push 450". So fucking what. U can't even bend over to tie ur shoes Cuz u got a fat gut.

I think I remember that guy. I think he lied cause he thought he would get more respect looking like that natty vs. on juice I guess.

Truer words have never been spoken. My old ass has nothing to lie about, and I've posted multiple photos in the members pics thread. Most on this forum have not.

The way I see it, I'll always be training to increase my lifts because that's what's most important to me. At least as long as my body allows me too, and then I'll change my programming to achieve a different set of goals. I have no plans to sport a banana hammock and flex for folks onstage, but I can understand and respect those that are inclined to do so.

Its the internet. People can be whatever they want to escape from reality. For me ye are the only people who I can seriously talk to about training, diet, AAS. I have nothing to lie about. I don't have a Bugatti or a diamond encrusted cock. Just a normal guy who enjoys the gym

Geezus......

Geezus......

True story. It was around the same time Flex Magazine was making big deal about Craig Kovacs doing a 410 military for (1). We were like, we should write Flex and tell them to come see this dude!! He does 430 for (3). It is a real big world!

430 strict military is unheard-of.
Idk. I think its just rediculous. Why even do it. 3 reps? That's doesn't do shit. Its ego shit. And a good way to blow out a shoulder joint or rotator cuff and then what. U will never lift again after that.

KRAZIEONE

Strength training 1 to 3 reps is about all u need when doing 85 to 90% max 1 rep weight

Of course EER, but those are pretty impressive either way.

Push press....not strict at all bro
And I'm not impressed at all. That guy is a fat fuck, whose cholesterol is probly thru the roof. Eats like shit and will probly die of a heart attack soon or probly drop that stupid shit on himself one day when his pec snaps like a rubber band with no spotter and kill himself. Again not impressed.

Of course that I understand I'm just saying do a huge weight with bad form and no spotter is not smart its ego stuff. I'm all for strength training. But training done right.

But here is the problem....form....hey I can push press 350+ and i weigh just shy of 200lbs. But strict I can do 240ish may lbs 250. Hey I can squat 550....did I mention on a smith machine lmfao....so we almost need to post vids to prove it lol.

I'm sure he'll clean up his diet and train differently knowing this is how you feel about him. Funny how people are so quick to judge.

His form didn't look bad to me for the weight he was pushing. A slight bend at the knee for hip drive? But I agree those are not the definition of a strict press.

Most guys can't strict press 135.

strength training at his level is totally different... he has the luxury of not worrying about how much he weighs.. if i'm him I am going to the buffet every day after the gym and eating a lot of meat and carbs. some guys are geneticley gifted at strength training cause they have a lot of white muscle fibers, others are more gifted at bodybuilding cause they have red muscle fibers. it is what it is. yeah I agree he won't live past 55 or 60 with the strain he puts on his heart, rarely do you see fat old people for a reason (or old smokers for that matter) but you have to give him credit for being gifted at it.

powerlifting by weight class the guys are actually in very good shape, low body fat .. its important they weigh in as low as possible so it makes sense they don't want to carry excess mass. in this guys case he obviously doesn't care about making weight, just getting stronger.

and yeah his joints are gonna be fucked up too as he ages

I'm sure he'll clean up his diet and train differently knowing this is how you feel about him. Funny how people are so quick to judge.

Haha....like my original comment about powerlifting....they just want to move the weight. I get the same way...it's in my blood..that and androgens

Ya. I agree with you to a point. With that kind of weight at any moment the tensile strength of his muscles or ligament and the dons cud give. He shudnt be doing that solo. I seen too may guys drop a bar on themselves be a use they pushed to hard with no safety net.
