I have had the luxury of being off work for a 6 months and have just concentrated on training and diet. I decided to start training 10 months ago at the age of 47 after a horrific knee injury in 2015. I have gone from 13st 8lbs to 16st 4lbs at 6ft 1 inch. Bf 18%. I recently reached the milestone of 17inch biceps and are well chuffed. It is all going so well. Today I had a work interview and was unable to eat for most of the day and it suddenly dawned on me, how am I going to sustain this level of training if I start work again. I want to compete in a vets competition when I get to 50+. Strangest feeling ever today. Frickin starvin and badly prepared. I currently train 5 on one off and repeat. The nature of my work is such that I often go for periods of 3-4 hours in meetings (sometimes longer). Has anyone got any thoughts or words of wisdom or is this just life and an indication that it's a tough gig.

How is working 3-4 hours am issue? That's what every body does who works. Let's start at the top. I'm 53 now. I'm off to work shortly. I have a shake and a coffee before I actually then don't eat until I'm on the train home 4 and a half hours later. You'll be fine.

I have a lot of clients who are surgeons or work in health care and sometimes have to go 4-5 hours without a break. That means no water, no food, nothing.

It's not optimal but it's life. Just eat before the meal and after the meal. Remember that it takes your body around 8-10 hours to fully digest a meal. Worrying about a few hours here or there is nit picking and won't make any real world difference at the end of the day.

Be prepared bro.. I'm sure you can take water into meetings.. and cmon, a quick toilet break to have a quick snack! You'll figure it out.. I can give you ideas on how to snack / consume food! Cheeky cheeky!

as much as it would be nice to have a trust fund at 21 and be able to just do whatever all day and workout etc. the reality is 98% of us do not have that luxury

we all have full time jobs and some of us have a part time job and families on top of that!

the guys you see on youtube who spend their lives doing nothing but workout are living off their youtube and supplement/clothing line.

Well, that situation does not sound all that bad - just adapt yourself to those meetings, and have something to eat at the office. That is not such a big deal not to eat for 3-4 hours.

I agree with Masonic.
The easiest way to deal with eating properly, is to prepare your Food ahead of time, and take it with you.

There's all types of containers available these days.
Not like when I was young, and you only had Tupperware, which didn't always stay sealed.
And the Original wasn't Microwave Friendly................................ JP
P.S.
Plus the Old Tupperware had BPA in it ~ which acts as a Xenoestrogen.
