In the moment for sure. Maybe a bit after lol. Ultimately we do what we do for ourselves. But it IS a plus for sure if in doing so others see that and wanna kick ass too. We do it cos we love it but if we leave a legacy... gotta love that too.

I also 'give' to the gym I use. Arguably, I now have the ability to kick ass in my very well equipped home gym. So I have no specific need to go there. But they've allowed me, in the past, to train their for free for 3 years. I did promo work (put on a show) at 2 events they had sponsored (Aberdare Motorbike Races). I paid for kit to go to the gym (circa $500 most recently for 4 x 20kg/44lbs comp quality plates) and more. So they show me the love in return. Plus I try not to be an ass about it lol. Oh and every time I go in one of about 4 who get a free coffee. Gotta love that right ;)

Late last week a buddy, Sam Solimi (look him up - 1000kg/2200lbs 'raw' total powerlifter), listed me and 3 others as 'inspiring me in grip' in answer to an 'ask Sam' Q&A. Sam has known me via our strongman gym we had in Gloucester since he was 17.

That is half a day for sure!!
I love working out in the early hours, it is peaceful, BUT, sometimes, I kinda of miss the noise of the gym. I used to like going at 3:00 in the afternoon, it would get busy and sometimes I would feel rushed. I like to be in and out at around 45 minutes to an hour, but at the same time, I hate feeling like I am sprinting through a workout and not making every rep count whether a warm up or a work set.
I am glad I found your platform here. It is the first time that I have been able to communicate with people that understand how it feels to have this mindset, of wanting to always be better and not being afraid to go to that place that is uncomfortable, and doing it so willingly. I am seeing that we are not the same as other people. I used to have just one friend that gets it, we only talk to each other about the gym and diet, all other friends and family think we are crazy for what we do. But now it feels like I have a whole big community around me that gets it!!

most gyms don't even carry dumbbells that heavy !

Thanks. Even though I'm more 'lifter' than 'builder' I can do the quad separation pose. I also notice the odd shin vein when 'on'. I also joke about how I'm meat on top (veins on elbow and bicep), meat on the bottom and ice cream in the middle lol
