You guys have pretty stuff knife laws over in the UK, right? And that’s great about those nature photos. Really cool stuff man! I have a nice camera that someone left here, a couple years ago, but I don’t know how to use it.Multi-talented me lol. Yep ALL those nature pics are mine. The Otter pics ended up being used by the BBC and ITV here as a part of a local news item for a local community project I help with. Often as not I'll take my camera (Nikon Coolpix P1000) when I get my steps. Deffo if I go anywhere else. On the training stuff buddies and myself was taking training pics before Insta was a thing so we kinda got ok at it. I can get 10 likes and be at the top hashtag of the clothing brand I rep for easy lol
Some cool sh*t on your page too. I had, and ought to get another, Cold Steel Tanto at one point.

@Ori yes, social media is mind poison and so much negative discussion, I stay on forums, they are much more personal for me.Same here. The forums are as close as I’ve been to social media in nearly ten years.

Ok a pain now and again - certain items of clothing for exampleI can't imagine what it's like being this big and strong
I like the low volume. I think as we get older we can get away with training less and continue to get stronger and put on quality muscle.Monday
It might be NYD but for me it's leg day. Trained solo in my gym
Lever Squat
to 330kg/704lbs x 7 reps
Iso Lateral Leg Press
to 180kg/396lbs (a side) x 4 reps
Lying leg Curls
to 9p x 6 reps
Leg Extensions
to stack + 20kg x 6 reps
Bwt: 326+lbs
11 sets total inc warming up
There's an argument to be made for intensity vs volumeI like the low volume. I think as we get older we can get away with training less and continue to get stronger and put on quality muscle.
IMO the intensity is most effective as long as your body can handle the abuse. I think when you get injured and beat up then its time to go with higher volume less weight. IMO I think a good middle ground is the slow reps with medium high weight. I like to switch things up as I believe you need to keep the body guessing to trick it into growth. There's an argument to be made for intensity vs volume
Possibly. As often as not it's mental. But I do rotate exercises if only to keep numbers going up without burnout. But not so much for strength. Size for me is a bonus.IMO the intensity is most effective as long as your body can handle the abuse. I think when you get injured and beat up then its time to go with higher volume less weight. Best bench session to date. 2007/8 it was 180kg x 4 x 1. 11 weeks ago it was 185kg x 4 x 12. Friday... 190kg x 4 x 1 (and easier than some weeks back) and I'll almost certainly do 1 (poss 2) more session (192.5?? x 4 x 1) before hitting the 200kg/440lbs attempt again. Indeed if I can do 2 instead of one I'll be that little bit more head of the target.those are some big boy weights!
For reps yes. For 1 it was 195kg and did 4 z 1 with 190 yesterdaySo your at your strongest ever on bench correct?
Proof that us old guys can keep on getting stronger as we age. We’re giving the younger lads on here a run for their money. For reps yes. For 1 it was 195kg and did 4 z 1 with 190 yesterday

Damn dude! From Friday's workout (I don't take photos every time I train but I'm writing an e-book on this lift so...). Picking up that 160kg+ (handle, clip and pin are about 3kg) so about 360lbs on a 60mm thick handle (about 2 and 3/8ths of an inch thick)

Yep. I've had to resist training this week cos I'm worn out sickness wise. Even when I was laid up with the back injury in 2016 I still squeezed my grippersStrongest dudes at every gym I’ve been at has been in their 50s
years of training is definitely an advantage
Key though is staying healthy And not letting things in life get in your way. Mobster has been consistent for years
It’s a lifestyle not a hobby for him
