Stopped in at Micks place to drop off some choc coco water and he had the dumbbells and what not ready to collect. Let Delta off the lead to have a wander about and get all the pats and sniff all the things. Love how well trained she islistens and obeys every command
Just a quick couple of vids in case anyone wondered what a dog on deca, single-minded, hunting the scent of rabbits looks like.
On a mission for sure!Mobility Update

After observing Delta's behaviour this past fortnight, I've taken it on the vets recommendation to keep dosing DECA 50mg at every 3 weeks instead of my intended 2 weeks. I've noticed a tony little bit of attitude coming from her, so we'll keep the anabolics low just incase I'm seeing true behavioural changes and not just her getting bored lately. I'll try to keep her more mentally stimulated as best I can, just to be sure.
Her mobility is fine, although she is a tiny bit stiffer in her legs because we havent been able to get out and about as regularly the past 10 days, which could be why she has a bit of an attitude lately.
She gets plenty of sleep in also.
In this video we can see her climbing the stairs from start, unassisted. She's still got it and is very capable. We do need to do some more physio to keep her limber.
Eating like an absolute machine tho, plenty of protein this morning with turkey mince, 5star lean beef mince, pasta, chicken breast and cottage cheese with green lipped mussel and her medication hidden inside.
When it comes to diet, I think it's important for your pets health to give them the best you can afford, tinned food is full of preservatives and carcinogens. Single source proteins are definately the way to go.
The point of all this is that she is happy and loved and taken care of, good on you brother!Mobility Update

Friday 13/3 - Sunday 15/3/2026
Friday morning Mick and I took Delta and Fox to the reserve so they could see each other again and get some exercise in before she had her shots and Mick and I hit the Gym in town. Both of them have mobility issues to do with their rear legs and we used to walk them for hours when we first got them together, some days we'd do 10km treks thru the reserve, its a far cry from those days, so its nice to get them to plod 1-2km. Poor old Fox is done for the day after. Delta though is very much on the up and up. And enjoys the undulating terrain. She does get a bit stiff after though.
She hadn't been out much the week prior and it had been 3 weeks to the day since her last shot of DECA.
We will have to make her next pin in 2 weeks time because in 3 weeks its public holidays etc. so her oin schedule looks like 2 weeks 3 weeks 2 weeks 3 weeks now.
The vet came out to tell me how impressed he is with the progress she's made since first starting. She's got more of a waist about her now and heaps of muscle drive and co ordination.
It's nice to get that kind of feedback from the professionals. She's full of spirit. Little bitch is such a vibe hey.![]()

Not much to report Evo fam. Steady as she goes. Did plenty of walking about Friday and Saturday.
Out in the reserve and a quick lap of the town with Mick after our Breaky catchup.
There's some regular dog food porn there, she eats plenty and eats well. She has access to some dry kibble through the day too. Sneaking the Epijoint into her mince again too.
She did really well with a nice big walk in the reserve and loves plonking about in the creeks now that the recent rains have topped them up. I made sure to give her a Meloxicam before I went into the gym so she could rest up and be good for another walk when I got home.
Mowed my front lawn and the neighbours but I can't take her with me for obvious reasons...
We've just done some stretching exercises and her range of motion is very good, so I'm about to pop some lamb into the slow cooker and take her out to the reserve again. Cos she was climbing all over me and letting me know she's boredNothing like the Velvet Hippo to remind you to make the most of your time and get out and do some shit.
Have a good one Evo Fam.

Best News I've heard all day my broThanks man. I’m sure he will continue to improve. He’s getting a little better today.
Nice man we are definitely helping our pets I read something the other day that in 50 years our pets will be living much much longerThe meloxicam is a gentle anti inflammatory, but it also has a calmative effect. Alot of people will use it prophylactically knowing that their Dog is gunna be moving about a bit when they're a bit stiff. It helps them relax and frees up their movement after a big walk.
The other Meds she has are Apoquel for her skin allergy and I give her Epijoint which is the human version of 4syte, an anti arthritic supplement made from pine trees with a vitamin E dose in it,.good for joint care.
Haha that's pretty cool. She Loves a splash in the thick water brother![]()

Not to jinx anything, so knock on wood aye, but I think we can just about draw a close to the log. we've started the second vial of DECA on Tuesday 7/4/2026 at 50-60mg every 2-3 weeks.
The velvet hippo has made amazing progress. Just recently she has done short little sprints when she gets excited. She climbs the back stairs multiple times a day, has no trouble climbing up onto the lounge, can jump down off the bed and out of the car comfortably and has been eating like a machine.
Now that the weather is cooling I'll be able to test her on the long fire trail that goes to the top of the local reserve (the same one Mick and I did farmers carries on today) its 3km round trip but no shade. In the cooler weather she should be able to handle it.
However we'll see how her joints treat her when it starts to really snap over, and we get into the frosts of the winter. Hopefully she wont be too stiff and stays nimble.
We've reached another milestone, now that I see her doing short explosive runs when she's excited.
I feel the final test will be the stamina and endurance required for the 3km hill climb.

That's what we like to hear. It's amazing how far we've come with our pets. There was a time when they didn't even take pets to the vet.Thankyou brother. Everything is falling into place and she's getting super strong.

What a beautiful doggo love seeing thatDelta Update
Week ending Friday 10/4/2026
Vids attached below after the meal pics.

Wahooo a Delta update!! Bro maybe I'm biased but she actually looks happier than before! I know it's bad for her but her apnea while awake is really cute it's like she's a little piggy oinkingMobility Update
Weekend 9/5/2026
It's been a little minute since I've added anything to Delta's log. The land seal has been cruising along well. We don't get a lot of time for much other than a wrestle and hanging out before bed after work lately. The weekends are all her though and she gets plenty of love and goes everywhere with me. She's famous in town now too. Just about everyone knows her.
She has developed a strange growth on one of her legs. Its not the one I spoke to the vet about earlier in the log. This is like a round flat growth on her other knee. I'll be speaking with the vet again soon and we'll have a look at it. It doesn't seem to bother her so much but I need to know what's happening there. Otherwise her mobility is great, but she does fatigue after a little while of trotting about. Still working on that endurance on weekends.
Here's some videos of her at my Darling Dearests place. She was super excited to see the missus and burst through the door up the stairs. After playing tho, she wasn't quite as quick to climb them at the end of the day.
Her mood is pretty much the same with the DECA but I've noticed she is humping the ever loving bejayzus out of her shrek donkeyand she won't take any shit from the male cavoodle that visits my M.I.L like she used to.
We're also waiting to hear back from the vet about a possible soft pallet trim to assist her breathing, she has a short snout which makes for a fair amount of apnea even at rest, (as you can hear in the videos) so anything that can alleviate that and improve her quality of life is top priority.
Anyhow, that's all I've got from the Velvet Hippo for now. Thanks for reading Evo Fam. The high speed wombat sends her love @HarleyGuy

Maybe the vet can give it an ultrasound, make sure it's nothing to worry about.

Just got back from.the Vets now brother.Hopefully the new growth isn’t anything major. Wishing the best
hopefully goes down and she's fineJust got back from.the Vets now brother.
Looks fine for now, she took a cell sample and it is infected but no detectable abnormal cells, which could be because of the amount of infected cells.
She's on an antibiotic now for the week, and she cleaned up the wound on top. So we'll see. hopefully the swelling goes down. Staffies are known for developing wierd skin growths as they get older though.
Doesn't seem to bother Delta, she's carrying on as normal.![]()
Holy fuck, you have some balls bro. I would have gone no where near the fucking thingQuick Update

Delta has recovered from the lump infection on her leg. It's healed up now and beginning to grow over again. See pics.
Friday she had another DECA shot. She's loosing body fat and her shape is deffo improving, her belly is smaller and her waist is thinner but her legs are muscular and she has a super wide chest. Arnold would be proud.
She's still a tiny bit ginger when she folds her legs under herself to sit down but isnt indicating any pain or discomfort and still is motoring up and down the stairs at home and at wifeys house and is always eager to go on walks. She does however slow down a bit toward the end of a trot.
I took her for a walk with Mick and Fox at the reserve today, we let them roam off lead because they mostly stick to the trail. She went straight to the dam and dipped herself in mud, I only just washed her on Saturday too
Today though, I got to the end of the track and noticed she wasnt with me but could hear her "alert" barking at something. I called her back but she stayed fixed in the one spot barking away. I thought maybe a koala or goanna in a tree... Nope she was face to face with a snake and thankfully she listened to my command to stay put, but just as I got closer she went to charge, but I pulled her back by the harness and passed her to Mick so I could shoo the snake off the trail so no one else was spooked by it.
Videos attached...

Obviously brotherIt had a little bit of size to it, and lunged at me when I got it to move on. Guess it could've made me a dumb bitch toobut its been very cool weather here lately so I figured it just wanted to go about its way without drama. I was still in work gear and steelcaps, so wasn't too fussed. Ive had a few run ins with snakes over the years.
