First day back and almost as strong as you left is a good sign. Looking really strong in the progress shots. I'd say we have about the same shoulder mobility in our front double bis lol. Your bench form looks amazing. Solid looking arch. The powerlifting background really shows.

The 400+ protein worked awesome for me. Working my way back up there right now actually. Since you respond better to low carbs I bet you're gonna love the results too. I felt way more energized, clear headed, and looked way leaner. Some of us just don't respond well to high carbs like you said before
Thanks bro. Felt really good in the gym yesterday, shoulders are tender today but no worse. My wife had GLOW coming in so I am going to "borrow" one of the vials and see if the BPC and TB in my shoulders make a difference. Won't hurt them anyway.
I so don't do well on high carbs, or more to the point, sugar. I had a few off plan carb items a couple of days ago and my BS spiked to 8.4 in the morning. Didnt do that yesterday and it's back to 5.8. Not only doesn't sit well appears to be a bit unhealthy for me as well. Back to chomping on steak 😅🩵

HGH - 3iu. Once I trained and tightened things up I felt the benefits of the GH today in my joints. Lets see how things progress.

Overall - TRT now. No issues so far.

**Pretty happy with this. Failed on 142.5 like I did 2 weeks ago but without any pain this time. Definitely coming soon.

DB Flat press 10x35,37.5kg 3x10x40kg
** New exercise. Went 10,9,8 for the 40kg which was ok. Shoulder and chest tie-in area is a weak point and got really tired. These are a keeper for sure.

Pullovers ezybar 15x15kg (bar not included)
**New exercise. Wasn't sure if the bar could substitute for a DB but it was actually perfect. Really felt the lack of flexibility in the stretch so these will benefit me greatly down the track.

**Good start in the progression of these. First 2 were slightly uncomfortable, 3rd was tough.

Daily thoughts
Back into it today after my deload week. It was probably the best return session I have ever done after a break.
I took my time, warmed up completely especially through my shoulders and made sure there was plenty of rest between sets.
I was able to push to the edge without pain and tightened my upper body nicely over the course of the session.
Really feeling good about this block of training and what it will bring. Bit wiser in my overall outlook to a training session and this will pay huge dividends where weaknesses and avoiding injuries are concerned.
The fails in lifts were kind of expected as I have never been able to take a week off and come back exactly where I left off. But this time was very close to that.
New back training session tomorrow, looking forward to this alot.

Diet wise, today was the biggest carb hit in a long time. Italian lunch will do that.
Tomorrow I start to further trim things a bit. I have started in places but tomorrow gets more serious. Protein will sit above 400 and I will trim carbs and fats a little to see what happens physically. An additional experiment on top of TRT.

Awesome news re lack of any pain during the workout mate. Looks like a good one too! 40's on DB bench is good going. Do you do the pullovers for chest or tri's?

Training was tougher today. Weights were the same but recovery between sets just isn't as good now that I am on TRT.
The Eq bounce back is certainly missed. But this isn't a bad thing, far from it. Now I have to dig deeper into myself and not be reliant on any assistance the Peds give me.
I also have to remind myself I didn't reduce my weight load after a break, I just picked up where I left off. It was never going to be an easy ride in this training block.

As we all know I am no nutritional genius, and it came as a huge suprise to me how much actual sugar can affect my blood sugar levels. For 2 consecutive days I had some sugary treats in the afternoon and the following morning my FBS was 7.7 and 8.4 respectively. Yesterday I had a large pasta meal and a huge carb day for me, but no sugary stuff. BS was 5.8 this morning. Bit of a wake up call for me on what Carbs I can and can't eat.

I figure I also have to finally accept that I wont be hitting any great strides with sleeping until I actually finish working, if that ever happens. I have survived on 6 -7 hours of sleep per night my entire working life and I don't think it will ever change, regardless of what I take to try and help.

Been a nice mini break but back to it tomorrow.

Thanks brother. I do the pullovers for chest mainly but my tri's and a bit of back gets hit too.
Haven't done them for a long time but man-o-man they work 💪🩵

Oh the worst one was marshmallows and melted chocolate. Never had them before, delicious but so not good for me 🤣🤣🩵

**Failed these 2 weeks ago and nailed it today. Much cleaner lift.

Daily thoughts
Training was tougher today. Weights were the same but recovery between sets just isn't as good now that I am on TRT.
The Eq bounce back is certainly missed. But this isn't a bad thing, far from it. Now I have to dig deeper into myself and not be reliant on any assistance the Peds give me.
I also have to remind myself I didn't reduce my weight load after a break, I just picked up where I left off. It was never going to be an easy ride in this training block.

As we all know I am no nutritional genius, and it came as a huge suprise to me how much actual sugar can affect my blood sugar levels. For 2 consecutive days I had some sugary treats in the afternoon and the following morning my FBS was 7.7 and 8.4 respectively. Yesterday I had a large pasta meal and a huge carb day for me, but no sugary stuff. BS was 5.8 this morning. Bit of a wake up call for me on what Carbs I can and can't eat.

I figure I also have to finally accept that I wont be hitting any great strides with sleeping until I actually finish working, if that ever happens. I have survived on 6 -7 hours of sleep per night my entire working life and I don't think it will ever change, regardless of what I take to try and help.

Been a nice mini break but back to it tomorrow.

Thanks brother. The amount of water weight I seem to be losing is a bit unexpected, but cool. First 2 days have been great. Recovery is taking a hit but that was to be expected. 🩵

**Easy start for these. No pain, pretty comfortable.

**Where I left off before deload. Same awful pain on the third set. Will do each time for a week now and then increase.

Great day in the gym. Haven't pulled 240 off blocks in about 8 years. Felt great. This is the key to my deadlift going up so very pleased. Used my brand new lifting belt as well and it didn't disappoint.
Got a lovely suprise from my wife. A little marketing for @Southern Cross Labs and my own personal mantra in one package (actually 3 to be precise).

Today was a better bounce back. Things are getting into the rhythm I need for the next few weeks. Hopefully I can continue increasing my lifts with this new program and get my body back in hormonal sync at the same time. Should then set up nicely for another run later this year.

Found it pretty cool you played soccer like me. I was the GK, not the striker. I had less glory. But when I had blinders that won it for the team I overtook the glory of the striker even if they scored a goal. Especially one year fighting for the title, and our last 4 games were. 1-0 wins

Today was a better bounce back. Things are getting into the rhythm I need for the next few weeks. Hopefully I can continue increasing my lifts with this new program and get my body back in hormonal sync at the same time. Should then set up nicely for another run later this year.

**Where I left off before deload. Same awful pain on the third set. Will do each time for a week now and then increase.

Daily thoughts
Great day in the gym. Haven't pulled 240 off blocks in about 8 years. Felt great. This is the key to my deadlift going up so very pleased. Used my brand new lifting belt as well and it didn't disappoint.
Got a lovely suprise from my wife. A little marketing for @Southern Cross Labs and my own personal mantra in one package (actually 3 to be precise).

Feeling really rushed today. Deliveries, posting TD's, logging and just general stuff getting busy, it all seems to be happening at once.
Anyway, I now know driving aggravates the absolute hell out of my shoulder. Was not a pleasant experience at all. Glad I have a rest day. Anti inflammatory cream and rest tonight. Cant wait for the GLOW to get here so maybe I can sort this once and for all.

I am actually stoked with tonight. Left nothing behind and learnt a ton of lessons about what I need to work on.
Quick turn around and arms session early tomorrow before we travel to the coast.

Didnt lower myself to the box cleanly even once. Back and hips are way too stiff yet.
I haven't failed a leg press lift in decades, but I simply couldn't complete set 3 tonight.
Planks....well that was always coming realistically.😅
I am actually stoked with tonight. Left nothing behind and learnt a ton of lessons about what I need to work on.
Quick turn around and arms session early tomorrow before we travel to the coast.
Better rest up I suppose 😁

Sounds like the box squats did you in bro lol. That's to be expected tho. Especially when you're just coming back. Squatting is one of those things where your body needs to remember the movement pattern that works best for you then the weight shoots up and it gets a lot easier.

I already know the answer, but are you doing any stretching or anything for mobility? I'm guessing like me it's probably a no lol

I do some mobility and stretching work but nowhere near enough. I am trying to be better at it 🤣🤣🩵

Overall - TRT now. Definitely not getting the recovery I got while I was in cycle. Have to work much harder.

Not tracking today. Travelling and I need a day to relax from my diet. If I don't track it I can delude myself a little it was healthy-ish.

5.5 hours. Quality is not too bad, but had to get up early to train.

Barbell Curl - not done
Hammer curl 15kg x 20,15,12
**Flat position was not possible for curls due to some sort of wrist strain I acquired during deload, go figure that one out 🤔🤷‍♂️.
Hammer curls were fine with the wrist in a neutral position so winged it. Super pump.

Rope cable curls 3x15x7.5kg
**Super set with the hammercurls. Was totally cooked by the end.

Daily thoughts
I am starting to find a few limitations not being on cycle at present. My rate of recovery is much longer and my general fitness at present is terrible. Need that to improve and I am sure it will, but it certainly has suprised me how low my GPP is at present.
Anyway, this weekend I need to switch off and be present for my wife and family. Switching off is not something I do at all and I need to try now and then.

**Failed these 2 weeks ago and nailed it today. Much cleaner lift.

Daily thoughts
Training was tougher today. Weights were the same but recovery between sets just isn't as good now that I am on TRT.
The Eq bounce back is certainly missed. But this isn't a bad thing, far from it. Now I have to dig deeper into myself and not be reliant on any assistance the Peds give me.
I also have to remind myself I didn't reduce my weight load after a break, I just picked up where I left off. It was never going to be an easy ride in this training block.

As we all know I am no nutritional genius, and it came as a huge suprise to me how much actual sugar can affect my blood sugar levels. For 2 consecutive days I had some sugary treats in the afternoon and the following morning my FBS was 7.7 and 8.4 respectively. Yesterday I had a large pasta meal and a huge carb day for me, but no sugary stuff. BS was 5.8 this morning. Bit of a wake up call for me on what Carbs I can and can't eat.

I figure I also have to finally accept that I wont be hitting any great strides with sleeping until I actually finish working, if that ever happens. I have survived on 6 -7 hours of sleep per night my entire working life and I don't think it will ever change, regardless of what I take to try and help.

Been a nice mini break but back to it tomorrow.

I love a sweet treat as my last meal too! A short walk or little spoonful of chia seeds mixed in water can help reduce the glucose spike I’ve found.
Just an idea/ something worth testing out, if you wake up at night to use the bathroom, I’ve found that this is a good time to take GH. I’m usually up once between 1-5am and that’s when I’ve been taking mine. So it stays 5-6 hours away from my first and last meals and doesn’t interfere with insulin sensitivity.

Love the bird pics! I am also considering getting a cockatiel. But not sure if my birds will drive it crazy with their shenanigans 🤣

Love the updates brother. The box squats have me intrigued, a fella from work who trains at the same gym is into them too after rehabbing his knee. I think this is something I'd like to try too.

Good work on the press nice solid weight with close grip, I tend to get sore elbows on those.
