Veteran Log Mobsters Training Diary

I'd question this. Just how much was they using and it merely boosts natural production.

There's also a disconnect. Like when we see people say they are tired on PEDs and forget they train harder on PEDs. Others up the volume etc and then, when they have joint issues, blame product.

That said, usually if they were very lean, I saw the odd example of issues with Creatine and water bloat. The other was dry scooping and not enough fluid drunk with it and stomach upset (so on the user)
thats a valid point bro
5-10mgs nutrobal vs 25-30mgs nutrobal is a big difference I do agree @Mobster

10 IUs of hgh before bed thats a big dose bro
As I've said many times. Once you get passed 5ius a day it's getting to be a given you'll have issues. Best to do 10ius for short periods only

@Mobster possible but I found 10 IUs for pros works well
@SFDom415 was pumping a whole vial of hgh and he's a regular gym guy
Agreed. But all three things can be true.

Yes pros do - the late Monstro, a WABBA pro, did for sure and mentioned it on Evo.
I'd question his advice and esp his coach on that. Same as I'd do for a buddy at my local gym etc

We're all well aware of potential sides. Carpel tunnel is one such side effect and is associated with high use. What seems (and of course might vary from one person to the next) to be best is (if needed) HIGH use for short periods of time. Long term use is best done with lower amounts (circa 2.5ius a day). I've seen too many threads on various forums where the two connections are made.

On the Nutrabol... 20-25mg a day is the typical dose. I wonder if long term use at that dose enables potentially CTS in a LOT of users vs a few. Well worth seeing if there are any stats or studies on this. Super useful to the community as a whole. Ditto the conditions - as in does bodyfat, training etc affect the results

@Mobster I rather not speak ill of the dead EVO brothers, but I heard more was involved with RIP Monstro than just steroids/hgh, some other products from what I heard

Oh 100%. But I agree. Hence only stating what he himself used and that as an example. Most pros keep quiet. But the few that do speak give us more than enough to be able to say 10ius is kinda the norm - if not more. However, I've seen SOME talk about higher numbers but for brief periods only. It's make more sense, IMO, to use low doses like those discussed long term where possible (for injury and recovery purposes) and then go high pre comp only.

If, to be clear, a full vial is 10ius then half is 5 and at 5 per day that can lead to carpel tunnel issues. If it's less (please confirm) then we'd need to see. Also for how long (weeks, months etc) TY

split that up into 3

Monday
It might be xmas chaos outside (queues outside the big shop etc) and supposed to be cold but I was dripping sweat in the gym. Also spotted a buddy - crazy weights. Try 145kg a side on the low iso bench press (over 600lbs total). Then spotted him again on Smith Machine Press with 190kg/418lbs loaded. Even gave him a slap (back of the head)

Hatfield Squats
w/up, 100kg/220lbs x 8 reps, 200kg/440lbs x (support belt on) 6 reps (might have been 8) and then 320kg/704lbs (lifting belt n wraps on) x 4 reps - sat on the bench on the last rep. Had I been training with a buddy I'd have not sat in the hole but done 6-8 reps instead.

Leg Press
200kg x 8 reps, 420kg x 8 reps, 650kg/1430lbs x 8 reps

Lying Leg Curls
8p x 8 reps, 17p x 6 reps (felt good - sweating on the floor lol)

s/s

Leg Extensions
stack (90kg/198lbs) x 8 reps, stack x 6 reps per leg

Nice little leg Session @Mobster ! Merry Christmas Bro. Rest is good! Keep grinding 🌸🎄🏋️‍♀️

God help us hahaha 👀 what’s the heaviest you have leg pressed @Mobster?
850kg/1870lbs

The local gym had more 25kg plates then and so I could get 700 or 705kg on it. And then 'Brownie' aka Chris Brown a 150kg/330lbs lifter climbed on it. Just a few reps for the giggles. I could do more now. Heck, I could have done 700kg yesterday (I'll be there in 3 weeks max). If I win the lotto I'll buy a 4 pin machine from Watson - takes 1000kg/2200lbs

It's worth being clear on three points.

1) It's all relative. I squat a load so I ought to be able to leg press a load. I mean I sat, tight, onto a bench with 700lbs+ in the Hatfield Squat. I'm only leg pressing double. And I'm well over 300lbs etc with 45 years lifting.
2) How I do it. I have the exact same leg press at home - I mean EXACT (just a diff color). On mine I put a big foam pad on the back rest and, as I do at the commercial gym, on the super heavy sets I push off of the safeties (I mean who's gonna save me with 600kg?). I'd actually argue I have a better range of movement at home. My foot position means I'm pushing from where my legs/knee etc are at a right angle. I can and have gone deeper (I let it sit me in the hole with 420kg a few years back and repped it).

IF I was a bodybuilder I'd actually use less. Like no more than 400kg probably. But DEEP, slow and circa 20 reps. I'd also switch up between 1 and 2 legged presses and different food positions

There's a vid of me doing reps with 765kg circa 2005-2010 on my old YT account

Nice week of weights @Mobster! 💪💪🌸 is that an asterisk by your squat n leg press be PRs? Haven’t used knee wraps in years and years. Might be fun to try them again one day. But I lift Raw so Use size XL SBDs but I have competition sleeves LG by SBD. The federation said we have to put on sleeves on without assist or any cheating so to speak. If you can get the on yourself without a bag or sock do t matter how tight!! 🤣🤪 legs might go numb tho. That be bad. Ha. Always inspiring to read bro! 💪🌸

I did a post 2 days ago on Facebook. Sleeves are allowed in what is called 'raw powerlifting'.

Squat: I go no support at all warming up and 1st set (100kg/220lbs). 2nd set (200kg/440lbs) is a back support (elasticated etc) and then 330lg/726lbs was the lifting belt and knee wraps

Leg Press: support belt on and then only wrapping the knees on the max set.

It's as much about knee and back health (so far so good) as max lifting

Started the New Year bulk yesterday. First 4 weeks (of 8) will be Purity Source Labs / EuroPharmacies. The latter 4 weeks will be (assuming no issues with delivery cos of customs) Pur Pharma Canada. Any issues and I'll stay with PSL/EP

Dosing / cycle info as follows: 1050mg weekly made up of 175mg a week of Proviron and 1ml each of Sus 250mg and 1ml of Deca every 4 days (eqv to 875mgs weekly). Pur also kindly included a few Cheque Drop tablets (I assume 300-500mcgs). These will be used sparingly (like super heavy days or 1RM's only - 1 tablet only).

I'll weigh myself tomorrow. I anticipate beating my old all time highest bodyweight of 336lbs (perhaps 340lbs). One issue is I don't have access to a working scale (I'll buy one soon) that goes over the 336lbs.

I also purchased earlier yesterday a bench press slingshot known as a F8 Widowmaker. If it works as planned it might involve benching 260-280kg (572-616lbs). That's 6 to 6.5 plates a side. Another possible on cycle target is a new 1 rep max Hatfield Squat. The old PB is 410kg/905lbs x 1. I can see 430-455 as a possibility. 455kg is a grand - 1000lbs

A cr*p kinda session and all down to me.
Seated BB Press
w/up, bar x 8, 60-kilos x 8, 85-kilos x 6 and 100-kilos x 4 (completely forgot my elbow sleeves

Thick Handled Dumbbell Work
Dragged the 120-kilo bell out and was gonna de-load it with 2 x red bands. No warm ups etc. Bad idea. Then went and pulled the 90-kilos/198lbs dumbbell out. HAF. Again should have warmed up. I eventually worked to a 4 reps set LH and 5 reps RH. Again my own fault.

Dumbbell Wrist Curls - Flexor
10-kilos x 8 to 40-kilos x 8

Thumb Work
Light band. Braced the working hand on my thigh and used the free hand too. Hooked the band over my thumb and repped to failure x 4 sets (reps got less and less with each set). The thumb absolutely needs strengthening

Can you explain the thumb work and what it's for/ why it would be needed? 🤔

Road testing the F8 Widowmaker: I don't usually train Wednesdays but I've a tiny bit of work to do Friday and I bench then and didn't wanna be time limited so...

Anyway. In a chat with the late Julia Mills I'd asked how much a difference this triple ply slingshot would make to sleeve only 1RM (202.5kg right now). Approx 80kg. So I did my usual warm ups then did a quick n easy 180kg with my Maddog single ply. Then the F8 went on and with Nathan and Gareth Parkman spotting me of we went.

With this on I couldn't unrack the bar. And I had to get Nathan to yank on my left hand and pull it into position with both hands a few inches wide than my norm. All new for me I always unrack myself and use a kind of close grip. Slingshots force the bar lower down than normal (more belly than the bottom of my sternum). We tried 200, 220 and 240kg and at no point did the bar actually touch my chest lol. I think it's gonna be 260 or 270kg to get it to my chest. And it's gonna be 280 or even 300kg benched for one 'equipped' with this bit of kit.

Bench Press
See above

Low Cable Row - Close Grip Mag Grip Handle
8p x 20 reps, 16p x 20 reps, 20p (eqv to 120kg/264lbs in the hands) x 20 reps

They look slick as f**k. Check these out!

600lbs bench cant be beat bro ;) @Mobster

you are pushing some big weight.

No clue how you do it. You are just gifted.

Have you always been this strong or is this something that you've developed over time?

Over time. I've really old training diaries showing it.

By way of example I'd been training a good few years and finally managed to do a standing press of 100lbs x 8 reps on a fixed weight barbell. A nice number to aim for. Now that's a warm up. Literally my first set with weight on the bar is 132lbs/60kg. My all time best is (I think) 132.5kg/269lbs for 1. On bench I'd been training maybe 12 months and did 90kg/198lbs which IS good for age 16 and a year working out.

Also, kinda obvious, why train if I'd always been that strong? lol

Man, I wish I could do that much weight.

I'm so jealous, seriously.

That's nice. That you have a group of there to support you and push, you, you don't see that in many places.

Very impressive job.

I can't even count the amount of plates. I see on that bar.

Very nice job for the spotters to let you get the weight. Without being too helpful.

I can't imagine how strong you must be.

You can probably throw someone across a room.

Thursday
Heavy Arm Day
Dumbbell Hammer Curls
10kg x 20 reps, 30kg x 9 reps, 50kg x 9 reps, 70kg x 9 reps, 90kg/198lbs x 9 reps (had a buddy film this - just waiting on it). All per arm

Skull Crusher
bar x 20 reps, 29kg x 8 reps, 59kg x 8 reps, 89kg/196lbs x 6 reps

Standing BB Wrist Curl
bar x 20 reps, 60kg x 8 reps, 90kg x 8 reps, 120kg/264lbs x 5 reps and broomstick x 20 reps flex.

Literally says how I do it in my log. I have SOME gifts. But it's also just putting in 45 years work
Absolutely 💯 @Mobster! And when you build size and strength like this over years look at your volume!! It’s not massive like so many…. And yet you still have mass and strength! Dont have to go crazy with sets. Good job! Nic pics thx for sharing

To be fair volume has it's place. But think on two points:

1) I ought be fkin big if I can move 200lbs for reps as and when required (say on curls). Even those smaller but power packed athletes are more rare than what I have
2) There's that sense of forcing growth we all have. Be that from a crazy contraction with light weight, volume or what I do. But NO ONE normal is building 20-inch pipes from 100 reps with 10lbs. And, again using the curl example, 200lbs MUST equal some size. Plus even my 'lighter' sets were 22lbs, 66lbs, 110lbs and 154lbs lol. All bar the 22lbs the 198lbs were all 9 reps.

I think ALL should do SOME strength focused periods. To be fair my size is a side bonus. I'm actually (annoyingly) down a few pounds at 325lbs on cycle but strength is about 95% of my top range stuff. I'll max 100-105% by the end of the cycle

'Light'arm day. Teeny tiny 'I'm on there' issue with someone on the lat machine. I pointed out I was already using it and have zero issue sharing. Calm down buddy I'm not pushing you off and taking over. That's not my vibe. Got him to help on the last set (also my vibe lol)*
