Hey guys,
Total new guy here so please forgive me in advance.

Personal Details
38 year old male in the USA
158 lbs after my recent cut
5'10
~8% bf (not measured, just what people have told me visually)

Only been training about a year. Typically train 6 days a week based on body part split right now. Open to ideas on best training now that I am trying to gain mass.

Diet
2585 cal
300g Carbs
200g Protein
65g Fat

Focus as much as I can on whole foods. Would love suggestions to make meal planning easy as I have 6 kids and our house gets crazy. The easier I can make this while staying as lean and healthy as possible, the better. I'm all ears!

Banana or protein bar before gym at 4:30am
Usually organic oats or oat bran with a scoop of whey isolate for breakfast post workout. Maybe throw in an apple with cinnamon depending on how I feel.

protein snack midmorning of some beef jerkey

lunch is usually a high fiber pasta or sweet potatoes with a lean protein like grilled chicken, canned chicken or organic turkey breast.

Depending on the day, maybe a protein bar or shake in the afternoon.

dinner is usually lighter on carbs with more lean protein. Maybe a 93/7 ground turkey, chicken breast, or seafood with veggies and some avocado oil, mct oil or grassfed butter for fats.

I just finished my cut about a week ago (lost 30lbs) so these calories are already new for me. I was only eating about 1500 calories during the cut. Not sure how much or how fast I should increase over 2500 now as I think I still need more while trying to get big.

CYCLE HELP

I was just prescribed TRT of 200mg test cyp weekly due to low total T of 259 and free T of 44. They told me to pin 2x per week at 100mg Monday and Thursday. This is my first and only time venturing into the world of steroid use but I'm currently still in information overload mode and trying to figure out how to put on MASS that holds after the 4 months of cut I was on. I have read a lot and know you guys may just say to do test only to start but I'm looking to bulk as quickly and safely as possible while keeping as much of the gains as I can (probably the same thing most guys are chasing). I will never be competing. Wondering if I should actually use the TRT dose to get started or order more to up the dose for a certain length of time before dropping back down to the normal trt dose.

I have a friend that suggested Primo at 300mg along with 50mg Anavar to just go with my standard TRT dose but this seems extremely minor for quite a bit of money. I was looking at 50mg Anadrol along with some Nolva as estrogen blocker and AI as needed. Also got a TUDCA (1000mg) and NAC(200mg) supplement for liver support. Open to an and all suggestions for the cycle and timing. Don't want to rush this but really want to dive in and commit.

I have not really explored PCT as it doesnt look like ill be coming off TRT and not 100% on what cycle I'll be doing. Looking for experts to help guide me.

If you've never used test before and you just started trt I would just stick with trt, no reason logically ordering more out the gate and upping the dose.

The fact you are this low, 200mg is gonna plenty and you definitely will feel the difference going from low T into high normal which 200mg a week is gonna kick hard for you.

Being brand new with all of this, I would get comfortable with the dose run the required bloodwork and document how you feel and the differences you notice feel and see.

If you started a log on here you can document the journey and all of us can offer help and advice while on the journey.

Plenty of us are on trt and have cycle experience that range from beginner level into advanced levels of knowledge.

Are you running just trt or do you anti estrogen medicine in play as well or hcg by chance? What is the full protocol.

Don't listen with what the friend is saying, anything added into trt is no longer trt it is a cycle no matter how big or small its a cycle, you being so new I wouldn't add anything, you need time for hormones to balance out and the body to get used to the test and for establishing a baseline.

Once you are far enough along you can start with experimenting, this is not something you just add other compounds into the mix without the proper education or knowledge first.

So many guys make the mistake of doing that and they pay the price for it, just ease in study learn ask us questions and enjoy the change, 200mg a week u will see plenty difference in the mind muscle and overall wellbeing.

No brother you did nothing wrong I misunderstood you, that is completely on me and I apologize about that, thank you for correcting me.

Don't get caught up in what everyone else is doing, absolutely read the posts and learn as much as you can, typically a standard protocol is x2 a week for trt injections and some cycles as well just depends on how many compounds you run and the dosesage of each one.

I'm running 3 injectables with my current log and cycle and I split the Injection x3 a week because I can Inject less volume of oil into the muscles so they don't become super irritated from alot of volume.

I also put all the oils into one syringe less pokes easiest way for rotation of sites for injections as you don't want to continuously injection around or in the same spot each week, less scar tissue and chances of things feeling uncomfortable over time.

What is the mg amount they prescribed you for the Arimidex, unless you convert estrogen easily u don't need much at all each week.

you can get the test and the AI much cheaper from one of our many approved sources on here if u ever chose to go down that route, option is open so you know, plenty do it that way.

Log looks great brother you doing well so far and ask anything you like this community is great with helping out. 💪

Thanks! Any recommendations for the diet aspect of things now while I wait for my hormones to level out? I went straight from my cut to what I feel is maintenance calories at 2585 per day. Macros at 300C, 65F, and 200P. I am starting my test inj today or tomorrow. Anything I should change right away diet wise.

Would also love to hear if you guys are utilizing any specific workout program or regimen like PHAT, PHUL, 5x5 or if most of you just build your own workouts based on weaknesses?

for your cycle, Tamoxifen and Oxymetholone is a bad mix IMO especially with anadrol direct impact on the E2 receptor. I suggest Primobolan with tbol for you, 300mgs primobolan 50mgs tbol.

You look fantastic brother! Excellent work and I agree definitely 8% doing it right and putting on the work paying off, you are a prime example of that.
 
yes with a grill and an air fryer you can cook just about anything
I cook lots of chicken and beef for the entire week in one hour
 
a rice cooker is really smart too
you can cook rice and vegetables in it
 
my advice on diet is increase your vegetables
and then when it comes to protein and good fats add in some avocado and maybe some red meat here and there
 
you are going to look like a beast
a couple Cycles from now you will look incredible I predict
 
I have an air fryer, instant pot (I use for rice, veggies, chicken breast, whatever) and a smoker I use as a barbecue and to smoke meat low and slow. I have half a cow in my freezer so plenty of access to red meat but haven’t been eating it on my cut much at all.

Took my first shot of test. .5ml of 200mg/ml for a total of 100mg. Took it IM ventrogluteal as planned. Didn’t hurt but I def got worked up and lightheaded and the injection site is a bit sore this morning.

Going to grab a banana and my preworkout and hit the gym shortly. I’ll weigh and log it for you guys along with my training today.

As for total number of cals, you guys feel I’m where I need to be at just under 2600? I feel like I need more food.

got good base should grow off the test alone. I would run 400mg of test and call it a day bro
 
Didn’t end up eating the protein bar. Finished workout at about 6:30 am. Training log attached. Walked/jogged 2 miles in addition to the lifting.

Snack at about 10:30 was a honey and jalapeño chicken stick. Lunch foods and time all attached in the photos. Someone told me to eat more veggies. Done.

Anyone able to give me any advice on the total calorie consumption?

Please let me know if I messed anything up with my diet today. Tried to be thorough for you guys to give you a full day of eating.

1 gallon+ of water and electrolytes from Lmnt is a non-negotiable for me so it happens everyday. Today it’s about 148 oz of water plus the Zevia soda.

REAL FOOD MAN. that is what your body wants.

you have the potential to be great here, but feed your body real food.

forget the protein bars, its all junk ingredients and fake food. eat a couple whole eggs and some fruit instead.. or what you can do is if you want a protein bar is make your own. easy to do combine raw nuts, raw honey, granola, etc. and squish them in a pan and put in fridge for a few hours. now you have your own homemade bars
 
yes definitely prep your own food that makes a huge difference
 
I'm never used a smoker before so definitely we would love to hear more about that and see something that you cooked in it

Breakfast food log and training log for today attached. Thanks for the feedback on the protein bars. I’ll make a shift away from those.

In addition to the food log attached: 1 scoop preworkout and creatine at 4:15am and training wise, 1 mile walk not shown.

Am I eating enough total calories? I saw someone say something on another thread about 30x bodyweight should be the rough number of caloric intake. That seems excessive since it would put me at 4800 per day but I feel 3000-3500 seems reasonable. Let me know your thoughts.

Been doing as much research as possible on TDEE and how much I should be eating for sustaining muscle growth. Based on this chart, if I’m doing 30 minutes of walking 6-7 days a week and 1-1.5 hours of lifting 5-6 days a week, it seems I would be in the “Very Active” category here and maintaining my current weight would require 3000-3500 calories per day. That would mean I need to be closer to 4000 calories per day in order to see big results with big muscles right? Just want to make sure I’m doing what I need to do with my food intake in a clean way to eat enough while staying lean af.

@MONSTRO Tren/Mast looks like a killer cycle. Would my TRT base of 200mg weekly be okay with this? How long would you recommend I wait just on TRT before I start and what quantities do you recommend for a first cycle? Slightly concerned with hair loss as I already take Finasteride and Minoxidil to help with that.

Been doing as much research as possible on TDEE and how much I should be eating for sustaining muscle growth. Based on this chart, if I’m doing 30 minutes of walking 6-7 days a week and 1-1.5 hours of lifting 5-6 days a week, it seems I would be in the “Very Active” category here and maintaining my current weight would require 3000-3500 calories per day. That would mean I need to be closer to 4000 calories per day in order to see big results with big muscles right? Just want to make sure I’m doing what I need to do with my food intake in a clean way to eat enough while staying lean af.

@MONSTRO Tren/Mast looks like a killer cycle. Would my TRT base of 200mg weekly be okay with this? How long would you recommend I wait just on TRT before I start and what quantities do you recommend for a first cycle? In addition to the food log attached: 1 scoop preworkout and creatine at 4:15am and training wise, 1 mile walk not shown.

Am I eating enough total calories? I saw someone say something on another thread about 30x bodyweight should be the rough number of caloric intake. That seems excessive since it would put me at 4800 per day but I feel 3000-3500 seems reasonable. Let me know your thoughts.

@steadfastsavage good diet but you have to up the protein more you're doing well though
calories I think you can go with 3500-4000 range but higher protein and omega 3 fats

Took my second testosterone shot tonight. Did it in my right delt. Seemed much more chill than ventroglute. .5ml/100mg done with a Union Medico auto injector. Super easy.

🤣 Nope. Long story short, we had two biological kids and always knew we wanted to adopt ONE from foster care. Turns out the one placed with us had a brother born in another state and transferred to us a month later. 7 months later we got a call to come get another full sibling just born at the hospital. Then, 10 months after that, same thing happened again. 😳🤯

just be careful with Chipotle they cook their food and refined sunflower oil I heard
I had no idea. I’ll check this out for sure. It was a rare “treat” that was easy to monitor macros.

Thanks for the feedback! Just went on a Trader Joe’s shopping spree for a ton of veggies, meat and seafood to do some meal prep.

How do you guys feel about 3275 calories goal with 350C 300P and 75F (or less)?

I have to say… I keep thinking about the Primo and Tbol cycle someone mentioned earlier in this thread. Will that cycle still help dramatically with looking more muscular or is it more of a cutting cycle? Looks to be great for low side effects which would be perfect for a first cycle IMO.

@steadfastsavage primo and tbol you would get harder for sure
but i think you need to eat more longer before primo if you ask me
 
Okay. Looking to get bigger. I don’t really care as much about strength and how hard I get. If you guys like the extra calories and macros I proposed above, I’ll hit that hard with as many whole foods as possible and go from there.
 
I already posted breakfast. I grabbed a terrible protein shake when I was leaving to run some errands. That was all I had for lunch but followed it up with some good snacks as soon as I could. Dinner was a LOT of food but I’m trying to get my calories up while keeping fats low. Total calories ended up just over 3000 today.

on a first cycle sure, but if you have used steroids already primo and tbol aren't gonna do much vs. other steroids

Agree with Noah, get used to TRT before adding anything. You should grow on just TRT. I got on TRT back in 2017 or so. Get used to the injections the anti estrogen if you need it. Feel whether you have peaks and valleys between injections. Sensitive nipples, etc.

Once you have been on TRT for 6-8 months then you can look at other compounds. Certain compound are for stage, certain for strength, certain for lifestyle. Choose the right ones for your goals.

BTW, the Trader Joe, organic frozen pizza is the bomb!
 
Be careful running finasteride. It can ruin your dick function and libido. Some people are fine on it but read up on post finasteride syndrome.

I know I can be on TRT for that long. I understand I’ll likely be on it forever. I’m trying to understand why I need to be on TRT for 6 months before doing any cycle. Does it really take that long for levels to even out with my hormones? I guess I’m just being impatient as I want to up the dose on the test at the very least. You guys are my voice of reason which is why I’m here and not just trying to do this alone.

TRT takes time for testosterone levels to level out, 2-3 months in many situation. No joke.

Okay. I was planning to do bloods 8 weeks after starting my TRT anyway. Hope that will give us the details you guys need to provide some additional guidance about starting a cycle. For now, I’ll just stay the course with the trt, diet, and training as heavy as possible without hurting myself.

i haven't touched a protein bar or protein powder in years man.

i'm a proponent of a natural diet. it's simply how we were meant to eat and it's going to make you feel better and it's what your body wants.

So the more you stay natural the better. there are people out there who eat nothing but fake food. the countries that eat the most faked foods are the most obese and sick, thats just a fact.
