Yo baldies.

Want to keep your hair on cycle? I bet.

Here are the basics:

1. Finasteride/Dutasteride - 5-alpha-reductase

- Blocks the conversion of Test to DHT. DHT is the main culprit for balding.
- Commonly dosed at 1mg to 5mg for Finasteride, 500mcg for Dutasteride
- Your dose may depend on how much test you are on, and how much you convert to DHT. So get bloodwork and see how you respond
- Dutasteride CRUSHES DHT, so start with Finasteride and get bloodwork.

note - dont take this with Deca or NPP. Has the opposite effect, causes more hairloss.

2. Minoxidil 5%

- Topical solution to help maintain or regrow hair.
- Apply twice daily to the dry scalp, massaging in gently.

3. Microneedling the hairline - Derma roller

- Using a Derma roller (get on amazon), you microneedle the hairline and bald spots.
- The micro cuts encourages new hairgrowth.
- Do once a week, skip the minodixil the day you do.

4. Tretinoin cream - Vitamin A Retinoid

- Powerful retinoid face cream, used for many things, including anti-aging.
- For whatever reason, some people dont respond to Minoxidil. The vitamin a acid, helps non-responders become responder.
- Start at once a day, before bed. Apply a pea sized amount to your face and moisturize after.
- Stay out of the sun the as much as possible. Your skin will burn alot easier.
- Every week or so, you can ad another application day, depending on your response. Some peoples skin cant handle it.

Note:

DHT compounds are going to shred your hair more than others. You can do all this and still go bald, sucks to be you.

You can always just shave it off.

Finasteride put the hair back on my crown quickly, and it had been effectively gone for a long time. Too little too late though. And it didn’t do much for my hairline. I did the whole thing. Microneedling, finasteride, minoxidil. If I’d started all that 25 years ago I’d still have a lot of hair. But my hairloss was early and aggressive, and it was so thin and blond to begin with, I never stood a chance. I don’t worry about it though. If I had hair it wouldn’t be fair lmao

I’m lucky that I haven’t had any hair loss.
Had a little bit of thinning I noticed on primo. But nothing major

Not sure how much it helps or not . I also used DHT blocking shampoo and conditioner.

Also GHK-cu has some benefits for hair health improving thickness and may inhibit DHT effects

Other than those I haven’t taken any of the listed above been lucky like that

Great guide and I love the initiative to create this thread @Nasser1997o2. It will be a great reference when other members ask about this.

Quick question for anyone who might know:
Topical solution to help maintain or regrow hair.
Does Minoxidil come in higher strength than 5% and what is the data on it actually regrowing hair?

Yeah for sure. I think the "hairsafe" compounds are below (so long as you follow the above guide)

Test
EQ
DBOL
TBOL
Anadrol - Even though its DHT, it has a alot of evidence to suggest its hairsafe
Nandrolone (so long as you dont use Finasteride or Dutasteride)

Its the only FDA approved topical solution. There is topical finasteride and oral minoxidil, but the data on those isn't set in stone, and its lots of trail and error.

Im sure there are other things, but what i listed out, its the stuff that you can get from a chemist/doctor, easily and its approved for hair protection.

Best is to go with straight testosterone and hgh.

Bro, this is a good list you lay out but back in the day I know some dudes who ended up with issues from Finasteride. Sometimes it can kill your libido.

Good looking out for put this list together. Appreciate all the info..

Definitely want to maintain your hair as you get older. It will make you look younger. Also if you notice a lot of hair shedding, that probably means your prostate's also taken a beating, which is not good either.
The thing that irritated my prostate more than anything was alcohol, no question. Everything mashed my hair shed. My hair was a lost cause a long time ago, but it would seem my prostate is in good shape. PSA always in range, pee like a horse, etc. very thankful for that. I’ve had friends tell me horror stories about needing to pee and flat out being not able to. That sounds like torture😣.

But I’m not disagreeing with you, for sure if your prostate is as sensitive as your hair, watch out!

Yeah prostate issues are pretty common as we get older.

Boys, quick update.

The last 2-3 weeks i've talked to a couple of guys in person who've recently had hair transplants.

Somethhing to note, is that most places will tell you to take finasteride even after a hair transplant to prevent shedding from the new area.

They actually looked really good and its a viable alternative to "just shave it off bro"

Put aside some of that HGH money, kings. Turkey is apparently very pretty.

I got a hair transplant done back in Nov 2023 in Tj, Mexico.
It was a hair mill so not the greatest quality and they were very aggressive so i did get over harvested. Over all im still happy with results.

I got 5k grafts done and im still thin on top but i use hair fibers and it blends in pretty good and no one can tell i use fibers or got a hair transplant.

I used to take finasteride and oral minoxidil back when i got transplant. I didnt get regrowth but hair quality was alot thicker and better.

After watching a video from Dr Todd Lee on Dutasteride I decided to started taking oral minoxidil daily with .05 dutasteride once a week.
Also use nizoral shampoo and topical Minoxidilmax 60ml ( 7% minoxidil, .3 dutasteride, .001 retinoic acid) which i also added 3g Ru58841 and use it Monday thru friday in the mornings.

Still too early for any results on the new regime but im hope.

Ill add pix of my before and afters and how it looks with fibers.

Ive been leaning towards shaving it down and getting smp. Also might get a 2nd transplant but thats less likely.

I had been razor shaving for 10 years before the transplant and i looked the way i looked just look better with hair and missed it lol. I may go back to razor shaving as well.

Wow dude I’d be pretty happy to have hair like that. I’ve been shaving my head for so long idk how much I have, but probably similar to what you were working with. This is interesting. I look ok shaved but eh. Not the best head, I’ve always had pretty pronounced jaw muscles that make this temple creases. Looks tough, but not as good as hair by a mile

What does that even cost in TJ?

Turkey is good for transplants but you not planning to go now right? @Nasser1997o2 :D

depends not sure some of these DHT aids are worth it at all tbh
some would rather burn for 1000 years in hellish flames than lose the hair :ROFLMAO: definitely effective but i agree you dont really want to nuke your dht. ru is a topical as opposed to oral thats why i recommended it.

I don’t appreciate my hair enough
I had a conversation with a young man I ski with. He was kinda sorta complaining about being short. (He’s pretty damn short, maybe 5’5” but maybe not even(there’s also more context in this, when you base human ski pyramids, the short guys always wind up taking all the weight because that’s the girl’s straight leg, he’s an awesome skier)). I told him “would you rather be short, or bald?”

It worked!

My dad is short AND bald. He’s tough af though lmao.

Everyone wants what they don't have. Just human nature. Tall dudes and guys with plenty of head hair will complain about something or another.

Me too. I piss dominance. And I get it all out too. It’s great
LMAO... that was my first gut laugh of the day and as usual it was on EVO... that was too good. "I piss dominance". I'm gonna use that one!

So you don't have the 'I'm done peeing... oh wait' moments anymore? My PSA is better but I never got there thank God.

Na I’m good. But I didn’t used to be. Pretty fun when you work and pee outside everyday. You don’t find out you’re not done until you put it away 😒.
My old friend, he’s a real bad drinker. He came to work one time and said he had to pee so bad the night before, And he just couldn’t. He just had to lay down and suffer. God damn

A certain white drug used to do that to me while drinking. It's the most annoying feeling I feel for the guy!

I'm glad you're better bro, for real.

Hello @Asthetek23 from what I understand, you had your transplant about three years ago. After starting finasteride and minoxidil, your hair became thicker and fuller, but you still didn’t get the density you wanted on top! That's why you decided to switch things up and try dutasteride, hoping for better results. right?

I actually had my own transplant 9 weeks ago and would love to pick your brain. If thats cool with you!?

How long after your transplant did you go back to PEDs? What are / were you running and at what dosing?

Looking back, do you regret anything about your approach, or are you happy with how things turned out?

I was on oral min/fin leading up to hair transplant. But yea i was hoping for more coverage with meds but after i saw it wasnt that much of a difference i just got tired of taking meds and stopped about 5 months after transplant.

I recently started topical and super low dose dutasteride and Ru58841 to see if i can get atleast regrowth in crown. If i do i may decide to do a 2nd transplant to fill in frontal 3rd. But not holding my breath

I wasnt on peds before transplant. I took Trt (160mg Test C thru a clinic) for 2 months about a year after transplant but got really bad ance so just stopped.

I started taking Test again (self prescribed) late December of 2025 and this time around havent had any acne. Started at 150mgs on fridays and now on 105mg MWF (315mg weekly)

I dont regret anything ... for the price i paid it was worth it. If i could do it all again thou i might stay on meds and maybe go to a better clinic. I went to a hair mill and they did over harvest my donor so a 2nd transplant is gonna be tricky and more than likely need beard grafts to get a full head of hair.

Im leaning towards just getting smp now and buzzing it down.
Using fibers is a hassle but worth it. Just dont know for how mych longer lol

But yea if you got any other questions id be glad to answer them.

To note i was razor shaving my head for 10 years before transplant so my thought process was always going back to that worse case.

Haha nice bro! Yeah I did mine in TJ too... 3,500 grafts for $2K. it was a steal! It was definitely a high-volume clinic though… all Turkish women running it lol. And man, it was painful AF. Not gonna lie, I don’t know if I’d go through that again. Maybe… maybe not 😂

My doctor recommended PRP on Skull once a month for six months. I only did one session because I couldn’t fly out every month. Now I’m trying to find a local clinic that does PRP so I can continue it. but yeah she recommended me to do PRP instead of FIN or MINOX.

They also mentioned fin and minoxidil would help, but basically said they’re just pills and foam that promote the hormones pushing for the hair regroth and once you stop, the benefits stop too. So she told me either commit to it long-term and to be aware of the consequences. @Asthetek23
