Not a fan of kratom
It’s a miracle plant that gave me my life back, seriously, but it has become a vice and I am definitely dependent on it. It’s in the log because I’m going to slowly lower my intake and possibly remove it completely.

I was badly injured and somewhat crippled for a bout a year. In that time my alcohol use ramped a lot. A friend gave me kratom and within a few days I couldn’t finish a beer. It became completely disgusting to me. And I’ve been drinking since I was a child.

A friend knew what I was going through and offered it to me, but I had heard that it was dangerous. He had been seriously addicted to pain killers for a long time and had gotten off them with kratom and his life got a lot better. Well I tried it and it was better than taking real opioids by a lot. I think that was like six years ago.

Kratom is what got me here today. It straight up cured me of serious long term alcoholism and got my brain out of the cycle of nerve pain from herniated discs in my neck. I don’t think I need it anymore. I was able to stop for a month before I had a surgery on my back because I didn’t want to explain it to the doctor and anesthesiologist. It wasn’t too dramatic. I didn’t get sick. But after the surgery I used kratom instead of the Percocet they gave me because I believe it’s safer for me in many ways.

Work is taking over this week. Major deadline. Very short handed. There will be no lifting and limited logging, likely miss a lot of sleep, I missed my chance to meal prep. I will be checking in and eager to get back on track

Man I really appreciate you checking in! Monday is probably realistic. I might have my bloodwork results around then. At that point, I may start a new log with an actual plan, depending on what everyone thinks about my bloodwork. I already know my cholesterol is going to give people anxiety hahaha. Maybe it won’t be so bad.

And my hematocrit is almost certainly very high, since I’ve been on higher than TRT doses for years. I do drink a ton of water, maybe it’s not outrageous.

I need to reduce my dependence on caffeine and kratom. I don’t need the kratom to keep me out of a bottle anymore, and even if I do still have some chronic pain, I can’t be just numb all the time.

The big push at work is going great. I’m going to come out of this with a great attitude and pumped to reward myself

I wouldn't drop caffeine or kratom right away, will be difficult. Lets talk doses and how to cut down a bit first.

I’m picturing like 250mg test, 100 mg deca, 100 mg primo, 2iu HGH. I think I could tolerate that really well, with acne being the one thing I’ll for sure have to watch out for. It would be nice if 100mg deca was enough to make my joints feel really good. I thought I got that effect from npp, and I liked the way it made me feel mentally. I would continue with bpc 157 and tb 500.

From logging I realized that I’m eating as much as 30 grams of kratom a day. Years ago it was only 3-5 a day. I’ve cut down and quit before without too much drama. It’s definitely time

@toddthelineman that's pretty low dose, you can go for it, I would up the test to 300mgs in the mix and 150mgs primo but not off the bat, about week 4.

I didn’t order the thyroid stuff. Every time I get it it’s roughly the same. Lowish t4. I didn’t even think to bother because I can’t imagine there’s anything to optimize there. I seem to convert all of my food to energy hahaha. As for E2, I predict it’s in the 80s, because I can feel my nipples if I get into the 90s. I’m not sure what my Total T will be as I have always used different testosterone amps when tested before. I didn’t use UGLs. This is béligas Test Enanthate 300/ml, pinned daily. I’m guessing at 210mg/ wk I’m at like 1600 mg/dl. I didn’t pin the day before though. Should have the results by like, Monday.

I was far more concerned with my hematocrit, as I’ve taken between 200-250 a week for at year three years, and I had taken orals intermittently throughout that time, as well as various other injectables. I haven’t donated blood in a year and a half I’m surprised it wasn’t higher, but I’m going to get it down nice and low. Going to donate blood, take nattokinase, and hydrate better. I need a plan for the liver values still. I was already taking tudca and milk thistle at a good dose. I’ll add NAC and glutathione. Maybe I’ll do all that for a month and retest.

you really have to be most concerned with your heart #'s. you don't want to put too much pressure on your heart. It's important to be working with a good cardiologist as we get older.

I've a few local buddies who do similar jobs to you (high electrical pylon work)
Several of my old coworkers moved into that type of line work. They’re hanging from helicopters and stuff like that. They work like 6 16 hour days in a row. The money is outrageous I guess but that’s just too much. I work like that for less than a week, every couple months or less.

Thanks man. I’m trying to do the best I can for me. I’m old and beat up. But I’dstill like to do a cycle and not suffer consequences that I can’t handle, so I’m just trying to get everything as good as reasonably can be before I add anything to my trt

I did that. I was VERY BAD DRINKER. I’d fight the whole bar, fight the cops, get my face caved in, spend $1000 a weekend, wake up with a fat chick or a sea hag. Gah! I hate alcohol. I’ll have like two weak drinks if I’m on a date and it’s going the right direction, that’s it. Alcohol didn’t dull any pain for me, it made everything worse and I could drink absolutely deadly amounts of liquor. Kratom completely took my thirst for alcohol away. Miracle. But I don’t think I need it anymore

Blood work is something you want to stay on top of over time. I wouldn't be so alarmed in the short term but long-term you don't want to keep your numbers elevated. Might want to take a break from steroids for a little while.

It’s tough. There’s guys doing all that acrobatic (and totally illegal) stuff for like $25 an hour. There’s union guys who climb one pole a day and bill 10 hours at $50/hr. But the real ones get paid production and the prices go up and down with the economy of the industry, and then your a contractor and if you can cut out as many middlemen as possible the money starts getting good. A lot of the first cable lineman building the whole country in the eighties made millions and millions, just starting out with a pick up truck and some climbing gear and their sons, and building it up. A lot of people go broke. There was like 15 years of almost everyone trying to use meth to make more money and running their lives. Wild bunch

I’m thinking about going down to like 80mg a week and seeing what that does. My numbers have almost certainly been that bad or worse for years now. I thought they would be worse honestly. Idk if I’ll feel crappy with less than half my usual testosterone.

I have done it in one sitting many times, but usually I just have it made the night before, shred it with two forks, and bring it to work where it sits on my dashboard and I eat it through out the day so I never get lethargic
 
Seen the pics. My buddies are doing the high pylon work. £700-1000 a week. One does weeks away in Europe for even more. Like the 125-250kv stuff. Sometimes 90m/270ft up
I have the utmost respect for those guys. They would be making that daily here, potentially. It’s just such a shitty life. I traveled for 25 years, and when my opportunity to go on the high lines came up, I had to pass. You’re just… gone.. forever. I’m too old for my mom to be collecting my mail and stuff.

@toddthelineman with full respect, dont ever try to predict anything in bloods. It's really impossible to do, I've seen estrogen e2 reading 280 with no sides. I suggest you do another blood test with full hormone panel.

You should donate blood before anything else here for hematocrit.

For sure! I’m just waiting on the results. You can see at the bottom of the second screen shot, a few pending tests. Testosterones, HS estrogens, IGF1, PSA. Should be coming soon!

All I did today was wake up, eat,put food in the oven, go back to sleep, wake up, eat a whole corned beef brisket, go back to sleep, get up and lift, go to the store, meal prep, eat, and going back to sleep. It was glorious

80-90mgs is a good number if you want to keep things mild

Thank you, bro. It’s a relief to have gotten done after so long. I just let it get away from me I guess, and told myself it’s fine, but I know I’ve been walking a tight rope for too long. Tbh I haven’t had liver values in range since 2022. And back then my hematocrit was much worse as well as my blood pressure. I’m making it a priority to get the liver values and hematocrit and estrogen well within range before I go any further, and I’m going to try to keep everything good through a mild cycle. If I can’t do it I’m pulling back. I’m not super worried about my cholesterol, I want to see some heart imaging before I pull any levers for that. I think the high ldl/super low triglyceride thing is common in my family. My mom and sister have it for sure. We are all pretty healthy.

PSA blood test is in at .72, range being <4.0

HS CRP is 1.3 with <1.0 being optimal and 1.0-3.0 being average risk.
-I’d like to know why it’s higher and how to get it down. I still have a nagging tendonitis in my left bicep. I wonder if that’s related?

Have you ever come off of it? The stories with Kratom are so polarized one way or the other. It's hard to know what to believe. Some people say it's a miracle and saved their lives, others say it ruined their lives. It would be nice to hear some real info from someone who knows in tune with their body and knows their pharmacology.

I think you would reeeeaaaally like a little hgh. The initial sleepiness is tough, but you’re already so lean I think it would show on you really quickly. It would completely cure any sleep issue you have hahaha. If it wasn’t so expensive and the legit pens can be hot or miss sourcing, I would have never stopped running it ever.

Ya I think next cycle I'll be running just test hgh and maybe mast. Dr. Todd Lee says there's literally no reason to do anything else, so I'm down to give it a go. Nordic fusion has a hygetropin 100iu kits. Might try that. Need to research a bit more tho.

Kratom: I had two herniated discs in my neck as well as pretty advanced degenerative disc disease, my arms, but especially my left arm were pins and needles for almost a year. They said it was permanent nerve damage. I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t lift five pounds for like a year, because anything you do with your arms levers on your neck. The pain made me literally insane, a crazy person. I went from being a cool happy drinker, but primarily a workaholic, to a raging alcoholic. I still functioned at work, leading crews and making money but self destructing badly. A buddy of mine gave me some kratom, said it wasn’t the boogey man they said it was, and it was how he turned his life around, he had been addicted to pain killers and lost his job, but had gotten it all back and was doing really well, so I took the kratom, went to work, and an hour later I was running up and down poles like I was 25. So I looked into it, found some sources, talked to a lot of people. Within… less than a week? I would keep stopping at the liquor store, but I just couldn’t get it down. It tasted like when someone lets you try booze when you’re a little kid. Foul!

So that is literally the pivotal point when my brain and body started healing. EVERYTHING in my life started a steep upward trajectory from there.

It’s a partial opiate receptor agonist. It can’t cause respiratory repression, but it stimulates dopamine and can cause constipation. It is also an opiate antagonist, so you cannot keep taking more to try to get high because you’ll get sick AF! There’s a bunch of different kinds, like weed. Some will be like, seriously, the most amazing pre workout ever, and some can be quite sedating. Some kinds are very powerful pain relievers, like right up there with Percocet. But it’s a little more subtle, because you might feel a little high sort of, or you might get really chatty, but not like taking a Percocet or a Vicodin where you are totally high, you’re pupils are pin pricks etc. as long as you don’t take so much you get nauseous, you’re 100% functional on kratom, and it’s a strong anti depressant. Give some to a chick who gets bad pms, it’s like magical!

Anything that stimulates dopamine is habit forming. I have absolutely been an addict. I was a highly functioning poly drug abuser with a “dealer’s habit”. I could get as much of anything I wanted and I did it all the time. I stopped all that stuff because I had to, and I guess it was easier for me than a lot of people, but I’ve come completely off kratom twice before my surgeries and honestly, it was easy! But on the day to day I’m pretty dependent on it. I can make any excuses in the world but that’s the truth. And I don’t know what it’s doing to me long term.

I’ve helped a couple people out by sharing it with them. I’ve never seen anyone else cure am addiction with it in person, but there are times of stories like mine. It’s replacing an addiction, but anyone who’s seen my life turn around would tell you whatever it was worth it. I had a buddy who had sciatica so bad he didn’t walk for six weeks. He was begging for all the hydrocodnes I had that I never took from my surgeries. Well I told him “the first bottle didn’t work, why do you want the second one?” I went to his house with a jar of the best kratom I ever had, mixed some in a glass of water, gave him that and the pills and told him “one of these is going to work, and one isn’t, but you can’t take both”. I left. He texted me an hour later. “This shits working”.
He went to work the very next day! I continued taking it for a couple months and then stopped. End of story

Mast made me feel awesome, but gave me deep cystic acne on my chest. That stuff will make you so horny it’s unbelievable! I think he must be a pervert he likes that stuff so much! I mean, that’s cool but like, I have stuff to do, also lmao

As far as I can tell, the people who have a very hard time with kratom are:

a) lying, and they are primarily real opiate users and hiding behind kratom. This is a very real phenomenon that I’ve seen in person. Including my dead brother in law. Had the whole family enabling him and his “kratom habit” and I’m the bad guy for ruining the cookout by screaming “he’s a junky and he’s going to die!”

B) previous opiate addicts, who are no where near ready to come off. It takes years to get past post acute withdrawal symptoms for a sincere addict of that kind. It’s possible that the partial agonist maintains their addiction, in some people at least

C) they may be using an adultered product or extremely potent extracts of kratom. Sort of like how coca leaves are not the same as cocaine hydrochloride. I’ve had coca leaf tea. It was awesome. Felt healthy and clean. Didn’t make me Jones or anything. But extracts of cocaine are kind of a subtle insidious thing that isn’t like what you’d expect and before you know it you’ve didn’t ask your money every weekend and your life is shit.

Not a fan of Kratom
Definitely don’t do it then. It’s been really good to me, but I’m cutting back and may stop completely. For chronic pain it’s hard to beat. And there aren’t really any viable options for people who have chronic pain, IMO. Mind over matter is a powerful thing, but everyone has limits.

Some people are especially adverse to kratom. It affects different people differently

A buddy of mine gave me some kratom, said it wasn’t the boogey man they said it was, and it was how he turned his life around, he had been addicted to pain killers and lost his job, but had gotten it all back and was doing really well, so I took the kratom, went to work, and an hour later I was running up and down poles like I was 25. So I looked into it, found some sources, talked to a lot of people. Within… less than a week? I would keep stopping at the liquor store, but I just couldn’t get it down. It tasted like when someone lets you try booze when you’re a little kid. Foul!

So that is literally the pivotal point when my brain and body started healing. EVERYTHING in my life started a steep upward trajectory from there.

It’s a partial opiate receptor agonist. It can’t cause respiratory repression, but it stimulates dopamine and can cause constipation. It is also an opiate antagonist, so you cannot keep taking more to try to get high because you’ll get sick AF! There’s a bunch of different kinds, like weed. Some will be like, seriously, the most amazing pre workout ever, and some can be quite sedating. Some kinds are very powerful pain relievers, like right up there with Percocet. But it’s a little more subtle, because you might feel a little high sort of, or you might get really chatty, but not like taking a Percocet or a Vicodin where you are totally high, you’re pupils are pin pricks etc. as long as you don’t take so much you get nauseous, you’re 100% functional on kratom, and it’s a strong anti depressant. Give some to a chick who gets bad pms, it’s like magical!

Anything that stimulates dopamine is habit forming. I have absolutely been an addict. I was a highly functioning poly drug abuser with a “dealer’s habit”. I could get as much of anything I wanted and I did it all the time. I stopped all that stuff because I had to, and I guess it was easier for me than a lot of people, but I’ve come completely off kratom twice before my surgeries and honestly, it was easy! But on the day to day I’m pretty dependent on it. I can make any excuses in the world but that’s the truth. And I don’t know what it’s doing to me long term.

I’ve helped a couple people out by sharing it with them. I’ve never seen anyone else cure am addiction with it in person, but there are times of stories like mine. It’s replacing an addiction, but anyone who’s seen my life turn around would tell you whatever it was worth it. I had a buddy who had sciatica so bad he didn’t walk for six weeks. He was begging for all the hydrocodnes I had that I never took from my surgeries. Well I told him “the first bottle didn’t work, why do you want the second one?” I went to his house with a jar of the best kratom I ever had, mixed some in a glass of water, gave him that and the pills and told him “one of these is going to work, and one isn’t, but you can’t take both”. I left. He texted me an hour later. “This shits working”.
He went to work the very next day! I continued taking it for a couple months and then stopped. End of story

It's funny we got so much in common. I'm an electrical contractor too. Not a lineman, mostly commercial/retail and some Resi. We're both here. I'm 5'11 AND A HALF too. I like how you mentioned it in your log, usually do also. Sound like we've both been through a party boy phase. I also had some surgeries and got stuck on oxy, but long before anyone knew the name. Luckily I had a good doctor who weened me off, but it was tough. A year or two later one of my best friend start getting foxies (fake oxies) from the west coast for 2 bucks a pill. Mind you this is almost 20 years ago. He tells me ya there's things are awesome, it's not oxy, has this shit called fentanyl in it LOL...again back then no one knew. Long story short in just under 2 years my life was in shambles and he passed away. Luckily for me I had a great girlfriend, wife now, and family who helped me through it. Ketamine helped a lot too lol. I went cold turkey and basically K holed myself got 3 weeks straight lol. The pros of Kratom always had me curious but I'm worried about it reviving something in my brain that I killed long ago. Thanks for all the info. Based on your description I know I need to stay away lol.

I do love raw cheese, but if I melt it it’s not raw anymore?! Hahaha. I usually just get chihuahua cheese. Right now, I’m going to up the meat and drop some or all of the dairy. I’m very prone to acne

I tell everyone, if you don’t need it, don’t take it. BUT if you were in a bad accident or something it would be a much better option than anything that hits all (4?) opiate receptors. It only hits one and doesn’t bind the same way. I really know at least a dozen lineman that use it, some chronically, others casually, and I don’t know anyone who’s had a bad time with it. The dependence is real. The habit is very much like caffeine. You can definitively quit, but you won’t want to
