no joke

I tend not think about it. The GF was saying how good some of my pics (local nature stuff) were and I said (applying the same to training) 'I'm always looking to get better'.

If I thought I was all that I wouldn't keep plugging away. I do, of course, still have the odd 'yeah big arms you mofo' from myself lol

Yep - 616lbs. My best is 320kg / 704lbs for reps and 340kg for one. Still not 'on' so as if and when I do that will be surpassed

I should make it clear. The Iso Lever Leg Press weight is PER LEG. I train them one at a time.

I upped the weight cos I'm getting strong on this. I'm seeing 2 x 20kg plates a side in the future (89kg)

I'm working to max my machine out. I have one which is the self same model as my local gym. I've done 700kg for 8 on that and 850kg for 3 (had a BIG buddy sit on it). But I use mine with a 4+ inch thick pad on it to increase the range of movement (ie: deeper reps). I push off of the safeties. If I win the lotto I'd buy one where you can preset the depth (they use a pin). Stops you getting crushed and I train at home on my own so...

How many WU set are you doing prior to these top sets? Nice workout!!

I write them in from time to to time but not always cos... boring to repeat lol. Lever Squat, for example:

Frame x 8 reps, +50kg/110lbs x 8, 120kg/264lbs x 8, 200kg/440lbs x 8 and the top set of 285kg/627lbs x 4 reps

A sense of perspective
In a pre-show of a podcast yesterday I briefly talked to Stevesmi about how I can be pissed off, if only a little, about the progress of a lift or two without allowing for the fact that my 'bad day' is really a good day.

By way of example is my recent Two Hand Pinch. Because I have my eye on a really big number I'm impatient to get going with more weight being added but yesterdays 106.7-kilos - just for one rep (or someone elses 1RM) puts me in (I think) the top 15 EVER. In other words, to quote the late Rich Piana, I'm a '5%'.

Equally, as I've touched upon in podcasts and elsewhere, if I wasn't hungry I'd have never got ANY world records. So maybe my not having that sense of perspective is what I need to be successful. A quandary lol
 
To keep striving for better even with holding world records, I think you really have that "killer instinct" that keeps you pushing.

A non-stop hunger for sure

Ribs aching from Power Squat Machine work (the pressure of it pressing down and you bracing makes lats and ribs work). But... I got my head on.

Not as such. But a half ton or more pressing down on my shoulders means my core, inc my rib cage, is under pressure when I'm repping. It's only when I coughed that i noticed they were sore lol

Took ages getting my ass in gear etc then... That's gonna leave a bruise: 260kg Hatfield Squats (6 reps) not reracked properly so, at some point, I end up with my right hand under the right hand side pinned between the barbell and the cross bar / safety. I squat it off and then the weights went everywhere. Hand is sore to the touch but no bones broken. The joys of training solo.

Last weeks session I more or less threw up the 2nd single. It was easy. So I decided today was hit the big one day
Broomstick x 30 reps, bar x 10-12 reps, 60-kilos x 8 reps, 80-kilos x 6 reps, 120-kilos x 1 rep. Sleeves on as per. 157.5-kilos x 1 rep (easy), 160-kilos x 1 rep (easy), 165-kilos x 1 rep (ok). Took my sweet time then hit my annual 170-kilos/374lbs x 1 rep (video'd) at age 58. 3rd year on the trot. I'd say it's taking me a little longer every year but boom just the same lol

Lat Pulldowns (wide mag grip)
to 18p x 15 reps (wanted the stack x 15 but someone else got on the machine so...)

Dumbbell Wrist Curls
to 40-kilos x 8L and 10R (had to reset left)

Bwt: 321lbs
