Approved Log Back injury Recovery with TRT Log

After some nudging by fellow members Ive decided to start a log and become apart of the evo family. I don't have alot to offer but I hope to learn and grow with you guys.

A little back ground story

I'm a 37 year old dad of two teenage girls. I've been a tradie my whole life across a couple of industries. I'm currently 65kg and 171cm tall. Bf not really sure id say 20%

I started on testosterone 6 months ago. After battling an ongoing back issue. And a fellow employee convincing me this is what I need. I started to study and I seen countless documentations of high testosterone levels been beneficial to sustaining further degeneration of discs the added bonus of stimulating collagen synthesis increasing skeletal muscle. Everything sounded great so I jumped on the train. A couple of months in I'd made major improvements and was getting stronger by the week. I felt great and should of stayed here but I decided to add some Deca. For the appetite stimulation and joint relief. I'd made my mind up I wanted to put some size on. been all skin and bones can't be helping my situation. Well 5 weeks in all hell broke loose and I started experiencing horrible side effects. Anxiety , panick attacks , sinus issues and insomnia like no other I think the first week I slept maby 2 hours. I stopped the Deca straight away and for the last 5 weeks have been dealing with the consequences. So here we are now.

Where I'm at now

The current plan is trying to focus on diet and learning to add more work outs I really have no idea here and I don't know anybody to get with so going to a gym is just daunting. I have a highly physical job that involves heavy lifting on the daily. And a decent truck unload twice a week. I mainly focus on mobility exercises. And lots of stretching. My appetite has only just started to come back so my choice of food is sometimes more calorie chosen then it is quality. Ive been lucky to eat a 1000 calories a day the last month

At the moment trying to find a correct trt dosage I've decided to run 100mg test E per week split into two injections to limit aromatisation and adjust as per bloods (this is open to debate as e2 is elevated )

Previous cycle

Test 400 8 weeks followed by test 500 and Deca 200 for 5 weeks titrated test down after

Yeah this is definitely an area I can improve. I'm a picky eater at the best of times unfortunately. Appetite is not my strong point that's for sure.



Woke up feeling a little wired this morning but overall feeling good. Out to breakfast with the misses this morning which was great nice and calming environment

I find this part a little intimidating considering there is so many great physics on here. There's not a lot going on that's for sure I've lost a bit of weight this last month and obviously withered away quite a bit between 2024 and 2025 when I was inactive. But I've never been big just alot more toned then I am now.

Struggled to eat today. Just not feeling the food. Feel pretty low on energy after about 1pm. I'm assuming my body just adapting to the new levels. Sleep last night wasn't great either trying to hold back on the sleeping pills. Other then that body's feeling good. And mind set and mood has been great.

Chicken rice and broccoli bake for dinner , still got some calories to go. Probably won't make them today.

Im getting more and more confident I can move with out injury. And I'm getting super keen to try get to a gym and start pushing some weights. But it's only been a few months so slow and steady


For any one that understands it or has been down this road and has advice. . This may shed some light. There will be follow up scans in the following months. To track any development. I'm expecting some improvement just by how I feel

Some people really seem to unable to tolerate 19 Nors, on NPP I do get some sleep effects and night sweats, and seems towards the end of the cycle mood and mental sides.
Thats okay though, there is plenty of different compounds you can use

I'll definitely look into this. Wow lots of protein. Okay I'll try to step it up a bit in the food department. I was hitting 200 protein back when my appetite was prime its been off since stopping the Deca (last injection 28/12/25)

I had a little anxiety last night. I think from been up so late. Again trying to with hold from the sleeping pills. Trying methods like grounding and breathing but not to any luck. Gave in at 1.30am and took the pills. Resulted in a hung over feeling this morning and feeling a little angry this settled out after some food and mood for the rest of the day was pretty good. Still got the 1pm crash tho. This lasts about an hour and I start to feel alright again. Crept the intake up a little. Still struggling to eat but hopefully this improves day by day. My back was quite stiff today. I think from the crappy sleep. So lots of stretching and a small routine today.

Welcome to the EVO family brother! This is a very interesting log and I think you look great. I can tell you do heavy lifting from outside your insertions and I think you look strong bro. I'm pumped to follow this log and help you out with the mental aspect you're struggling with. We have a member on here too @toddthelineman who reacted poorly to Deca as well so you're not alone bro.

@wannabe jacked Can you post your cycle/dosages you're running every once in a while in your log updates so we know where you're at since you're currently experimenting with dosages and TRT?

Have you ever tried to just force feed yourself? I do this. I try to remove how I feel or emotion out of eating. Then, having a really good probiotic, digestive enzymes, psyllium, and apple cider vinegar (with the mother/raw) can get your digestion in check to deal with the food you need to put in.

You didn't mention what you thought this could be. Are you supplementing with taurine?

This is a good log post. You can make yourself a sort of template, maybe in your notes app, to make the daily updates easier and faster when you’re busy with work. While I was logging I took pictures of every thing I put in my mouth, and I also entered it all into MyFitnessPal so I was tracking accurately. It’s a job at first but once it’s in your routine you become very efficient. The more detail the better.

Welcome to the EVO family brother! This is a very interesting log and I think you look great. I can tell you do heavy lifting from outside your insertions and I think you look strong bro. Have you ever tried to just force feed yourself? I do this. I try to remove how I feel or emotion out of eating. Then, having a really good probiotic, digestive enzymes, psyllium, and apple cider vinegar (with the mother/raw) can get your digestion in check to deal with the food you need to put in.

I think the stiffness was from poor sleep and probably tossing and turning. Apparently I've been pretty active in my sleep.

After some nudging by fellow members Ive decided to start a log and become apart of the evo family. I don't have alot to offer but I hope to learn and grow with you guys.

A little back ground story

I'm a 37 year old dad of two teenage girls. I've been a tradie my whole life across a couple of industries. I'm currently 65kg and 171cm tall. Bf not really sure id say 20%

I started on testosterone 6 months ago. After battling an ongoing back issue. And a fellow employee convincing me this is what I need. I started to study and I seen countless documentations of high testosterone levels been beneficial to sustaining further degeneration of discs the added bonus of stimulating collagen synthesis increasing skeletal muscle. Everything sounded great so I jumped on the train. A couple of months in I'd made major improvements and was getting stronger by the week. I felt great and should of stayed here but I decided to add some Deca. For the appetite stimulation and joint relief. I'd made my mind up I wanted to put some size on. been all skin and bones can't be helping my situation. Well 5 weeks in all hell broke loose and I started experiencing horrible side effects. Anxiety , panick attacks , sinus issues and insomnia like no other I think the first week I slept maby 2 hours. I stopped the Deca straight away and for the last 5 weeks have been dealing with the consequences. So here we are now.

Where I'm at now

The current plan is trying to focus on diet and learning to add more work outs I really have no idea here and I don't know anybody to get with so going to a gym is just daunting. I have a highly physical job that involves heavy lifting on the daily. And a decent truck unload twice a week. I mainly focus on mobility exercises. And lots of stretching. My appetite has only just started to come back so my choice of food is sometimes more calorie chosen then it is quality. Ive been lucky to eat a 1000 calories a day the last month

Current cycle.

At the moment trying to find a correct trt dosage I've decided to run 100mg test E per week split into two injections to limit aromatisation and adjust as per bloods (this is open to debate as e2 is elevated )

Test 400 8 weeks followed by test 500 and Deca 200 for 5 weeks titrated test down after

I track alot in apps although I haven't been for the last month ironically while I was having issues. I just didn't have the head space. But we are back on track here. Today's lunch meal was not ideal. Chosen as I was out and about. It's definitely not a common thing and made me feel awful afterwards.

Energy levels today where pretty low mood is alright. And symptoms wise with anxiety and sinus next to none. Libido it's there but morning woods been absent

How long have you been back on 100mg/week test. Just wondering if your levels are still affected from the higher doses. 100 should be fine for most people.

I don't mind all the mobility work your doing. I have to do it daily otherwise my back will be stuffed from tight hips etc.

Are you comfortable with introducing weights? How many days a week could you do that? Putting together a program is straight forward and there are so many videos showing form etc. No one at the gym cares what other people are doing anyway. Let us know if you need some help a program.
I find this part a little intimidating considering there is so many great physics on here. There's not a lot going on that's for sure I've lost a bit of weight this last month and obviously withered away quite a bit between 2024 and 2025 when I was inactive. Struggled to eat today. Just not feeling the food. Feel pretty low on energy after about 1pm. I'm assuming my body just adapting to the new levels. 200 is pretty easy if you think about it like this: three meals at around 40-50g protein each then shakes to get to 200. Breakfast looks the best meal you could add protein to. I would just use vanilla protein powder with or instead of milk and add some yopro yoghurt. Or a few eggs on the side.
I'll try to keep on the daily updates but back to work tomorrow. So we will see how it goes

I had a little anxiety last night. I think from been up so late. Again trying to with hold from the sleeping pills. Trying methods like grounding and breathing but not to any luck. Gave in at 1.30am and took the pills. Resulted in a hung over feeling this morning and feeling a little angry this settled out after some food and mood for the rest of the day was pretty good. Still got the 1pm crash tho. This lasts about an hour and I start to feel alright again. Crept the intake up a little. Still struggling to eat but hopefully this improves day by day. Thanks man. Yeah so I haven't ran 100 as such yet. I've been titrating down weekly last week was 200. This is the start of holding 100 and seeing where I rebound too

My goals are definitely to bulk up. But sensibly I don't think carrying huge amounts of weight is going to work well for me. But I dunno I'm keen to see where that goes.

I'm definitely keen to start training some weight. Upper body is okay shoulders a little funny sometimes. This is a repetitive strain injury. From slinging roof sheets for 10 years

A program that suits is definitely something I should look at. I kind of have no idea where to start. And core is definitely a focus

My back. Well it's hard to say I wait for the day it just goes again But it's been holding strong. This is definitely something I need to be careful with when it comes to loading my spine.

Foods just hard for me in general. No appetite I absolutely loved that Deca stimulated this. Food felt much easier but I'm just gonna keep jamming it in , gotta get use to it eventually

Diet will definitely be the area where you can make some big improvements. The easiest thing would be to find some foods that you like and meet your macros and just stick with those same meals. Makes it much easier to be consistent initially.

Yeah I started with ashwaganda and valerian root plus magnesium. Didn't see any change. Introduced melatonin. It would make me feel like I wanted to go to sleep but I couldn't fall asleep. I then was using over the counter sleep pills. Doxylamine they worked for a very short time. Then the doctor prescribed the temazapam which works but is only a short term thing.

The anxiety is probably the hardest to deal with. It's not something I've had often in my life only a couple of instances and they where triggered by life events. This feels like anxiety but I'm not convinced it's exactly the same. I'm glad it's settled and is more manageable. Finally getting some Sleep has definitely helped here. At one point when it first started I did 7 nights awake. Maby an hour a night sleep and it was always like 5am it would stop.

Nah I'm pretty good with most of it. Maby the bent leg twists are a bit hard. I'm limited in rotation or scared one of the two. I was swinging some 50kg panels around this morning that normally would of dropped me 6 months ago probably going to feel that tonight.

Update for the last couple days

Didn't make the update yesterday. Was feeling pretty washed from the week. Yesterday was just one of those days didn't have myself organised and headed to work with literally nothing. So the day relied on the servo to kick it off. I've noticed myself been able to get the food in a little easier this last 2 days. So hopefully now I can start to stomach more better food. I'm drinking way too much dairy. I got some psyllium husk today. So that will become a new daily addition also.

I've had some tenderness this last week here and there in the lower back but it seems to settle overnight. Definitely aggravated from awkward lifts at work. I've noticed some tightness in the hamstrings the last day which seems to play a role as well.

Update for the last couple days

Didn't make the update yesterday. Was feeling pretty washed from the week. Yesterday was just one of those days didn't have myself organised and headed to work with literally nothing. So the day relied on the servo to kick it off. I've noticed myself been able to get the food in a little easier this last 2 days. So hopefully now I can start to stomach more better food. I'm drinking way too much dairy. I got some psyllium husk today. So that will become a new daily addition also.

@wannabe jacked a lot of times we feel wrecked at the end of the week. I know I do especially if you work a high-stress job. It's good to get in a workout.

These seems to both be PRN for you (ie: take as needed). Have you tried finding a dose that you can take each night that will work for you? How often do you fall asleep fine without anything?

I would look into GH for sleep and you'll get more bang for your buck with GH for both sleep and gains.

I think the strategy of waiting til the early morning hours til you need it isn't working and is causing daytime fatigue. I take mine earlier in the evening around 8pm so by the time 11pm comes I'm already relaxed enough to then try and settle. I've done your method before trying to fall asleep naturally then get frustrated and take it at midnight or later and all it does is make me a quasi zombie until dinner.

Let's figure out your meds and the timing. Based on your day if you're feeling you'll need it that night I'd start trying it earlier on and let us know.

As much as I want to do more I made the decision it's best to organise a consultation at the gym and have a plan sorted rather then just jump in with no real idea. So while that's been sorted I've mostly been focusing on food at the moment just trying to get that right. Appetite has been okay so focussing on bettering foods and keeping calories in check as I was starting to over eat and it's showing in the mid section. Planning the day ahead seems to be the key here and I'm going to start doing that. And probably won't stray much in food if I can

Appetite has been okay so focussing on bettering foods and keeping calories in check as I was starting to over eat and it's showing in the mid section. Over due update


Sorry I've been a bit absent this week. I've been lurking but the logs been on hold. I'm off for Sydney next week so this week's just been crazy at work. It's resulted in some missed meals through the day and a bit of a struggle to make food. But I think I done semi okay. I'm looking forward to getting re focused. It seems everytime I start getting on. Track life comes and bitch slaps me 😂. Oh well, moving forward.

Not something I normally touch base on but yeah I've been a stress head lately. I know it's not good for anyone so I'm looking forward to a little decant in Sydney. Still working as such but will be pretty chill.


Pain

This has been a funny one. I've had a few moments where I've gone shit I've lifted too much. But it seems to rebound back quicker then it ever has. There's some slight inflammation by the end of the week and I'm feeling it in the lower back and upper legs. So I know I've had a decent week. But I feel I'm getting a stronger base happening where I'm not throwing it out and going down for days so win win here. There's definitely progress from this time last year.

Sorry I've been a bit absent this week. I've been lurking but the logs been on hold. I'm off for Sydney next week so this week's just been crazy at work. It's resulted in some missed meals through the day and a bit of a struggle to make food. But I think I done semi okay. I'm looking forward to getting re focused. It seems everytime I start getting on. Track life comes and bitch slaps me 😂. Oh well, moving forward.

Current cycle

100mg test E per week (r&d) split into 2 injections. Tues night sat morning

Prescription meds

Temazapam (sleep)
Thc+f CBD (anxiety , sleep, pain)

Additions

Centrum (multi vitamin)
Probiotic & Prebiotic (blackmoores)
Psyllium husk

Mood

Bit snappy but overall not too bad. I do have some shit going on in the personal life and works stressful.

Anxiety

Haven't had an episode now for a bit, hopefully this is past me now.

Libido

I feel this has taken a slow decline since lowering to trt. As has performance. Hoping it's just an adjusting period

Stress

Not something I normally touch base on but yeah I've been a stress head lately. I know it's not good for anyone so I'm looking forward to a little decant in Sydney. Still working as such but will be pretty chill.


Pain

This has been a funny one. I've had a few moments where I've gone shit I've lifted too much. But it seems to rebound back quicker then it ever has. There's some slight inflammation by the end of the week and I'm feeling it in the lower back and upper legs. So I know I've had a decent week. But I feel I'm getting a stronger base happening where I'm not throwing it out and going down for days so win win here. There's definitely progress from this time last year.

Thank you . I'm here to stay that's for sure there is too much motivation here to ignore it. And many people to relate to in some way.

Excercises yeah I don't know if I'm to be honest I'm always questioning little pains from prior experiences but i can tell there has been massive improvements. Im now lifting 40/50kg at work with little strain. Some movements whilst holding that weight arn't great but are definitely improving so I don't see why I can't start training up to those sort of weights.

Yeah CBD well I'm biased. It's got positives and it has negatives I've been on it a long time. It is something one day I hope to substitute out for something else how ever it is the most natural pain medication I've found to work for me. For myself I also get alot of positive mental aspects from it. But again there is some negatives.

Just a simple update life's busy at the moment. So just trying to make the best of time. We have pups due this week and scheduled to be away as well as organising kids for the week. It's been an exciting weekend.

I got some bloods back from the doctors. Just monitoring on doctor's orders. I'll post them up when I can. But everything's looking back in range except for test its still sitting at 50.

Foods been going good as has what excercise I can manage to fit in at the moment.

Purchased some new scales and done a weigh in. 65.3kg and apparently 18% body fat. (For reference I started at 58kg this time last year)

Look forward to touching base more frequently this week.​

Life's blasting along, I have so much admiration for the people in here been able to make the time they do. With many juggling family's and work life. It's definitely not an easy feat. I seen a log the other day with a reference to 5 kids and a busy life and damm I could relate.

Things have been going steady. Bloods are creeping back in line. Body is feeling good. Bloats going away and I'm feeling like I'm leaning again despite eating way more then usual. Hopefully I can up the intake some more soon. Still trying to make smart choices of food. Not so easy when you just have no drive to eat and are super fussy.

This isn't the most structured update but I'll dump some information. When I'm back I'll focus on getting the log back in order. Membership and consultation is booked for the gym when I'm back so that's under way too. Pains been good apart from waking up sore from the hotel bed.

Energy and moods not too bad. I've still been snappy. I think just so much going on of late but it's something I need to get under control.

Sleeps been good. Finally not taking the sleeping pills. Which is a win. Sleeps still a little broken. But it's always been like that some what.

Eating is taking a toll while away. Last night was a trip to the all you can eat buffet that was hard ahahah I definitely over ate. I'm not too fussed as long as protein stays up. But tracking isn't as accurate as normal.

Still majorly not happy with myself as most people probably aren't. But I can see some suttle changes in the last few weeks it's definitely motivational, still a bloody long way to go tho 😂

More comprehensive bloods with an updated iron study due in 3 weeks to see if iron is returning.

Bloods look good mate. How long since you've been on 100mg/week?

Macros looking pretty good. Good that you are generally hitting 200g protein.
Only like 3 weeks holding 100.

Foods definitely improved but appetite still isn't great tho. Hopefully keep creeping this up over the next couple weeks.
