Approved Log My First Cycle Log - Testosterone Only

Hi all,

So grateful to have just been accepted to this community of veterans, i'm brand new to the forum and anabolics, and genuinely happy to be here. I’ve been reading a lot of threads for a while and there’s a serious amount of knowledge on here, so I figured I’d introduce myself properly and share my current cycle plan before I go ahead with anything.

Stats:
  • Age 22,
  • 182 cm (naturally ectomorph - skinny)
  • currently sitting at ~82kg and around 18% body fat.
    • For context, I was bulking for about a year and got up to ~90kg but ended up around ~27% body fat which was definitely too high, so I’ve since cut back down to a moderate bf
  • 5-6 years of consistent training (optimally for hypertrophy i promise)
  • about 3 years of tracking macros
I know 22 is young and I fully respect that opinion. I didn’t rush this decision, I’ve been sitting on it for a while, doing research and making sure I’m approaching it as responsibly as I can with my doctor. I’ve always done yearly bloodwork including hormone/HPTA markers, and natural test from age 16-21 sat at around 28 nmol/L (807), but on my last 2 bloods i'm now sitting at 21 nmol/L. Still reasonably high, but definitely out of my teen test ranges.

The goal with this cycle is to put on muscle, not too fussed about leaning out. But more than anything its about seeing how my body responds, and doing it as safe as possible (with all of your guidance).

Current plan:

12-15 weeks (not sure which), Testosterone Enanthate, 250mg p/w until first bloods (4-6 weeks), then up to 300 depending on results.

Bloodwork:
  • Pre-cycle bloods (waiting on results, will share once received)
  • 4–6 weeks into cycle
  • End of cycle (around weeks 12–15)
  • 4–6 weeks after starting PCT
Cycle:
Test E (250mg)
  • 250mg/week for the first 4–6 weeks
    • 0.5ml twice weekly
  • Potential increase to 300mg/week after bloods/response if everything looks good
    • 0.6ml twice weekly
  • not sure whether to stop at 12, or go to 15 weeks
Injection timing:
  • Tues/Sat
    • keep timing similar
Injection sites:
  • Glutes
  • Ventroglutes
  • Quads
  • Delts (want to avoid if i can to be discreet)
AI:
Arimidex on hand but not planning to use unless bloodwork or symptoms actually justify it (will get your opinion on this boys), if needed:
  • 0.25mg twice weekly to start
  • 0.5mg twice weekly only if symptoms persist
PCT:
Nolvadex
  • 40mg/day weeks 1–2
  • 20mg/day weeks 3–4
  • Start ~16–18 days after last pin
Other compounds:
  • Minoxidil (1mg/day)
  • Finasteride (1mg/day) - i really don't fucking want to lose hair, but ik may be inevitable (advice?)
  • Prescribed Adapalene (retinol) on face - face acne control, dont have any currently

Diet:
My maintenance is around ~2850 calories ish (have tested this, weigh myself every day)

Current approach:
  • Calories: if cutting i stagger down to 2300 NET (calories in - expenditure) at lowest, and stagger up to 3400 NET on bulk
  • Protein: 1g per lb bodyweight (usually 180–200g/day)
  • Fats: under 75g/day
  • Carbs: fill the rest
Supplements:
  • Creatine
  • Men’s multivitamin
  • Pre-workout
At the moment I’m trying to figure out the cleanest way to structure nutrition for this phase. Goal is to build as much muscle mass as possible, don't care too much around fat gain, but obviously don't want to be a fatty and aromatise.

Really open to advice from people who’ve been through this before, especially around:
  • Best way to set calories/macros for this cycle. I have no idea how much different my macros/cals need to be on an anabolic cycle.
  • Anything I might be overlooking in terms of nutrition or the structure and duration of the cycle (12 vs 15 weeks)
  • Thoughts on my compounds and anything else
Appreciate any input and looking forward to learning from this community. I’ll keep everyone posted with bloods, progress pics and PR's - even if no one replies or cares. Will wait until my bloods come back to start first pin.

Welcome to Evo brother. This is a really nice start to logging on Evo. I will personally say I think 22 is little young to be starting any type of cycle. That said we need a few pics with your face blurred out to get a baseline.

Why is a Log Journal important?
Accountability, self esteem, and consistency all which lead to RESULTS!

Authoring a log will actually help you way more than just dropping random updates. When you lay it all out week by week you start to see patterns in your body that you won’t catch otherwise.
Other guys here run logs all the time and there’s no privacy issue, nobody is asking for your name or anything personal, it is just training, diet, and how the compound feels.
The feedback you get is also way better because people can follow along and spot things you might miss. It also helps the next guy who is thinking about running the same compound so you are giving back while you learn.
Even if you think you might not stick with it, just starting the log makes it easier to come back and add quick notes. That way you get more out of what you are running instead of keeping it all in your head.

To really guide you we need more info from you:
Please share your diet, training, cardio, sleep, supplements etc log with us in a NEW thread using a full log journal so our guidance is based on facts you provide.
It will take 15-20 minutes max.
We have 100's of years of experience between us, so you need to post a LOG Journal with your stats (weight, height, age, years training, cycle history) diet, training, cardio, supplement, sleep details. If you don't log what you eat or train now, open NOTES on phone and start recording it there and paste here. Very easy.

Diet, please share foods and meals and when you eat them, macros would be good
Training, please share actual exercises reps sets and weights, as you go especially get stronger

At the moment I’m trying to figure out the cleanest way to structure nutrition for this phase. Goal is to build as much muscle mass as possible, don't care too much around fat gain, but obviously don't want to be a fatty and aromatise.

  • Best way to set calories/macros for this cycle. I have no idea how much different my macros/cals need to be on an anabolic cycle.

Hey brother, yeah i know its young, nothing i say will justify it really, I just feel I'm ready to hop on. Something I've been planning for years.

The whole purpose of this cycle is to see how my body responds, and see if gear is for me - well aware of potential sides. I'll get my bloods done every 4 weeks (ish) and work from there. If my body is responding badly i'll roll off with PCT - also aware that doesn't guarantee safe return to baseline. I'd like to think i'm not some twat 22 year old with 2 brain cells blasting tren - i'm doing this with my Dr and the knowledge of you veterans.

Would like to test something you said with the rest of the community though about just hoping on and never coming off, feel like that might not be the best strategy for a test/beginner cycle to see my body's response.

So grateful to have just been accepted to this community of veterans, i'm brand new to the forum and anabolics, and genuinely happy to be here. I’ve been reading a lot of threads for a while and there’s a serious amount of knowledge on here, so I figured I’d introduce myself properly and share my current cycle plan before I go ahead with anything.

Stats:
  • Age 22,
  • 182 cm (naturally ectomorph - skinny)
  • currently sitting at ~82kg and around 18% body fat.
    • For context, I was bulking for about a year and got up to ~90kg but ended up around ~27% body fat which was definitely too high, so I’ve since cut back down to a moderate bf
  • 5-6 years of consistent training (optimally for hypertrophy i promise)
  • about 3 years of tracking macros
I know 22 is young and I fully respect that opinion. I didn’t rush this decision, I’ve been sitting on it for a while, doing research and making sure I’m approaching it as responsibly as I can with my doctor. I’ve always done yearly bloodwork including hormone/HPTA markers, and natural test from age 16-21 sat at around 28 nmol/L (807), but on my last 2 bloods i'm now sitting at 21 nmol/L. Still reasonably high, but definitely out of my teen test ranges.

The goal with this cycle is to put on muscle, not too fussed about leaning out. But more than anything its about seeing how my body responds, and doing it as safe as possible (with all of your guidance).

Current plan:

12-15 weeks (not sure which), Testosterone Enanthate, 250mg p/w until first bloods (4-6 weeks), then up to 300 depending on results.

Bloodwork:
  • Pre-cycle bloods (waiting on results, will share once received)
  • 4–6 weeks into cycle
  • End of cycle (around weeks 12–15)
  • 4–6 weeks after starting PCT
Cycle:
Test E (250mg)
  • 250mg/week for the first 4–6 weeks
    • 0.5ml twice weekly
  • Potential increase to 300mg/week after bloods/response if everything looks good

  • not sure whether to stop at 12, or go to 15 weeks

I'd like to see your typical day of eating including macros and some typical training days including weights.

After some feedback from the community, i'm going to pin Mon, Wed, Fri - rather than twice a week. Just trying to reduce risks of aromatisation where i can!

Here's a day of eating. What i eat every day is different, but im pretty consistent with Macros :)

For reference i've been cutting down (hence 2300 cals), but my goal on this cycle is to put on lean mass - not too fussed about staying lean.

Would love some advice on how many calories I should bump up to if i want to bulk with this cycle. I normally stagger up to about 3200 on a normal bulk, but not sure whether with anabolics i may have a higher threshold of surplus vs putting on fat, so can push cals higher...?

lets do 3x/week pins it should work!

on the macros protein way too low should be over 220 :D @Siden

Hey mate, It would be a really good idea to get your diet in check before you jump on cycle, the meals you have posted are pretty terrible to be honest. Very little nutritional value in them.

You need to be eating real food not quick fixes and easy eats, out of your carbs each day how much of that is from sugars ?

You will get so much more out of your cycle if you build up a decent understanding around nutrition first.

Breakfast: 2 x Up and Go protein shakes (ik these are processed, but its the only way i can stomach a decently nutritioned breakfast)

Lunch: High protein pasta with kangaroo mince and veggies (don't see the problem here?)

Dinner: Tuna and rice

Snacks: baked water crackers (straight carbs), protein shake after gym (whey isolate), protein bar

i thought this was a decent day of eating for a 2300 cal day? But am aware i need to up my protein to at least 200 now on cycle. Would love more feedback.

Lunch : that's look good, is this cooking your own food or a pre made meal ?

Dinner : try avoid those pre packaged rice things I'm sure they are full of micro plastics, rice is cheap and quick to make with a rice cooker, and double the tuna serving, buy big cans in bulk on special to save a bit of coin.

Snacks : no point in eating those water crackers, they really offer nothing of value, if this is your post gym meal have some quick digesting carbs, fruits are good and a double scoop of protein powder no need for the protein bar as well.

Protein should be 200grams so aim for that... Try avoid any processed foods or foods full of sugar *natural sugars are good imo, your bodyfat is quite high so good chance you'll aromatize easily so try keep to whole foods, clean food, homemade food. Hope that helps !

I dont mind this setup at all. I like the rest day after the 3 on. 6 days a week with that split is too much for me.

So question is, being week 1 of cycle, do i immediately jump up to like 2800 cals, then up to 3000, then 3200 over the next month? Or should i taper more slowly into maintenance and then go into surplus as the test starts to actually take effect. Could use some evo wisdom.

Hey brother, I would increase slowly. Push to 2900-3000 and see how this goes for a couple of weeks then increase if your weight, strength and physical look don't go up. Slow and steady is the best way these days, no sloppy huge weight jumps 🩵

I would go to 2800 and up 300 cal every week :D

Just to note, have always had slightly low Iron, and have always had high bilirubin due to Gilbert's syndrome (harmless).

  • Have bumped cals up to 2700, protein about 210, fat 74, carbs the rest (320 ish). Will slowly increase over next few weeks as you all recommended
  • Starting weight was 82-83kg, sitting around the 83.5kg mark today
  • No noticeable strength or recovery gain just yet
  • Feeling a bit fuller, glycogen and water stores filling back up
  • As of today, starting to feel like a fuckin superhero mentally. Happy, focused, energised... they say test is the nectar of life.
    • 1st pin in glute on Mon - hurt like a bastard for 3 days and work up in the middle of the night stressed as fuck for some reason, was pretty scared tbf, think i pinend into a blood vessel or smth
    • 2nd pin in right shoulder - hurt the day after, but aside from that completely fine
    • 3rd pin in left shoulder - smoothest pin yet, a bit of tightness next day
