Approved Log 200kg bench press and beyond Journal with UGLOZ

EVO Logger
Hi all,

Welcome to my new log.

My last log was the sponsored by @UGL OZ and with the support of the team and access to their new incredibly high quality products I hit my goal of a 200kg bench press.

The partnership and the work continue, in the coming weeks I hope to post a video of a bench press north of 200kg and will continue to train with a predominantly strength based focus. Aesthetics and bodybuilding aren’t really my thing, I’m more about being as large and powerful as I can be.

For those that don’t know me, I am in my mid 40’s. I weigh 135-136kg currently, I am 192cm tall. I lift 4 days a week and train in an MMA format once or twice a week generally centred around hard sparring and rolling.

Maintenance calories appear to be pretty much exactly 5k at the moment, I established maintenance a little over a month ago just for my own curiosity. I’m not currently tracking but hit 300g protein everyday and eat as much fruit and vegetables as I can, my diet is pretty good, not perfect….but it suits me and fuels me well.

Current PEDs which are all exclusively @UGL OZ are as follows -
500 test e
200 EQ
3.3iu GH pm

I am also very partial to a @UGL OZ Sparta Anadrol or two on a heavy day 😁

PED protocol may change soon as I am getting due for a cruise period.

This new log will be updated with training over the coming days - it’s leg day tomorrow.

Picture below was taken in the last 2-3 weeks so is current.

I'm actually getting custom shirts made up for @Heavygripper - it's some I do for all of my top athletes.

For example, these are ones I made for @B3rnie recently:

(Sorry to hijack @Heavygripper)

@R M will be next on the list once he gets ready to hit the stage. I also keep one each for myself and have them framed so I have a wall of the top athletes that represent UGL OZ. They hang up in my office. I'm very proud of these boys because they put so much work in.

@Heavygripper's one is being designed now. I'll post it in here once it's been finalised and the shirts have been made :)

So I thought I would give an outline of where to from here, as I have hit my goal of a self unracked 200kg bench press.

I will now drop to a cruise dose -

All @UGL OZ product exclusively 💪

I am not tracking calories, but will ease off on calorie intake slightly, I expect my body weight may come down very slightly as a result.

This week I will do a PROPER deload, as it’s actually now 3 weeks overdue and in the last 3 weeks I have bench pressed at least 3 tonne in work sets each week on my heavy bench day alone 😅 while telling myself I was in a deload 😆

After deload I will dive into another 12-13 block. I will continue to progress my bench press and now that the peak is over I’m really looking forward to adding a lot more accessories back in and giving more attention to my overhead press, I may even push this into PR territory as overhead is possibly my favourite movement.

Really pumped for my next phase of training and my continued partnership with @UGL OZ.

That deload clearly did its job, hitting 180 kg for doubles right out the gate shows the base strength held strong. Dropping back to 140 kg for 8 keeps the volume in without overtaxing. Rows, pulldowns and the arm work all looked controlled with good rep ranges, solid way to ease back into heavier training. Sitting at 133.8 kg you’ve got plenty of size behind it, perfect timing to roll into your next block fresh. :D

100% brother.

I’m in a good place right now.

Following bro

Absolute monster lifts !! Unreal
How long you been lifting heavy for? 🔥
I always lift with a strength goal in mind.

Only recently started following programmed blocks which is something I highly recommend for people chasing numbers. ……I got back into lifting properly about 6 years ago after a big lifestyle change.

So good bro
I’ve sorta naturally been steering towards the powerlifting training, and enjoying it so considering getting stuck into it properly
Only small numbers compared to you haha

Squat 175

Do you create your own programming or have a coach/someone write it up?

It's a smart goal, you lift heavy always :D EVO family respect your way.

133kg bodyweight and still moving 180kg for triples on high bar shows your base strength is locked in. The 140kg back-off set for 10 was a strong way to finish that block. RDLs at tempo with 100kg and high rep curls/extensions stacked a ton of quality volume into the hammies and quads. Calves paused in the stretch at 60kg rounded the session out perfectly, that’s a full lower day done right. :D

Trending down slightly which is to be expected with me not pushing calories as hard now that my last block has finished, the reduction in bloat is also kinda nice 😆

132.6kg and trending down is solid, the leaner look always feels better with less bloat. Smart move easing back into vertical pressing after 8 weeks, 100kg for 3x5 on barbell is still strong considering the layoff. The 25kg DB presses for high reps will build that shoulder endurance back fast, and pairing it with pullovers plus heavy tricep work rounds the session out well. Nice balance of strength and volume without overdoing it first week back. :D

That 190kg single moving fast while on just 300mg test and a bit of GH is impressive, especially with bodyweight dropping. Back work is solid with rows over 100kg for sets of 15, and arms finishing with curls and extensions rounds it out well. The strength you’re holding in a cruise is a good sign for the next blast. :D

Good session, 180kg for paused squats at that bodyweight is strong work and smart to back off the loads now to set up volume for the next block. The 120kg RDLs for high reps will carry over well into pulling strength too, solid accessory choice.
Cruise phase is the right time to reset like this, especially with reliable gear backing you, you’ll be primed to climb again once the new block starts.

Strong arm session, those 22.5 kg hammer curls for 15s at your size will build serious thickness through the forearms and bis. Calves moving 120 kg for high reps shows good endurance, and the sled pulls are a perfect addition for conditioning while still hitting legs hard. At 132.4 kg bodyweight that mix of strength and work capacity will keep you progressing steady.

Strong work, that 192.5kg single moving easy while cutting shows strength is holding perfectly. The back and arm volume after bench kept balance in the session and should keep size steady as weight drops. Cruise setup clearly working well with that output. :D Strong video you moved the weight like butter!

After my recent training block coming to a successful end (200kg bench) and a few weeks of unstructured training I have decided on a plan for the next 6 months.

I will run another bench block to progress my bench further, however the main goal moving forward will be to bring up my leg development and my squat, goals will be 240kg squat, then 260kg, these are within reach as it is, but I want to really own it, with a heap of depth and a clean, fast squat.

This will require me to spend 4-6 weeks doing some unilateral leg work while squatting with some lighter weight and more volume and a focus on really dialling my form in, it will be a chance for my knees to recover a little as 2x12 week bench blocks with lots of volume and a solid bracing technique have left my knees a little angry.

Can’t speak highly enough of the @UGL OZ product and support, currently feeling incredible on a simple Test E and GH cruise, zero strength loss, realistically I’m actually getting stronger, which is a great thing.
I’ll stay on this protocol for approximately another 10 weeks.

That’s a solid reset and smart transition after a strong block, especially with that 200kg bench locked in. The approach to pull back, fix the knees, and dial in squat form with lighter volume before chasing 240 and 260 makes sense. Smart move from Team UGL OZ @UGL OZ
Cruise looks perfect too, the Test E and GH combo clearly keeping strength steady while letting recovery catch up.! @Heavygripper
