First time TRT - 200mg a week?

Hi everyone. I am planning to do some self-administered T Enanthate at 200mg a week split between two a week. I have been lifting for about 10 years. Just would like some general advice on this. I've never done it before. Is 200mg a week good for a lifelong plan of TRT? Also, I already ordered from osgear. Just waiting for them to confirm. I thought about doing 300mg a week, but I heard this is not good for a lifelong plan.

Thank you.

Edit: height is 5 foot 4. Gender male. Weight 173 pounds. Training for 10 years, currently on a three day bro split. I struggle a lot with recovery and lower back pain which is why I train minimal. Every time I push it to 4+, I end up having lower back pain that can last over 4 days.
Monday: Push (chest, tricep, delts)
Tuesday: Pull (back, bicep, rear delt)
Wednesday: Legs (barbell squat)
Rep range: 6-10 reps to failure

All the other days is stretching, walking and calisthenics with my daughter. Hoping the T can help with energy, recovery, and gains. Not looking to do a full blown cycle just yet. Perhaps in the future but no plans for it.

welcome to the EVO family :D @ReinaMishima You need blood work 1st before anyone can call 200mg per week a real TRT plan because we have 0 info on your e2, SHBG, LH, FSH or baseline test and without that you are guessing.
You also need to start a new thread with a proper log before you even pin because we know nothing about your food training or recovery and that matters more than the dose. 15min to start a log, dont wait to TRT.

HOW-TO LOG?

Why is a Log Journal important?

  • Doing a log will actually help you way more than just dropping random updates. When you lay it all out week by week you start to see patterns in your body that you won’t catch otherwise.
  • Other guys here run logs all the time and there’s no privacy issue, nobody is asking for your name or anything personal, it is just training, diet, and how the compound feels.
  • The feedback you get is also way better because people can follow along and spot things you might miss. It also helps the next guy who is thinking about running the same compound so you are giving back while you learn.
  • Even if you think you might not stick with it, just starting the log makes it easier to come back and add quick notes. That way you get more out of what you are running instead of keeping it all in your head.

To really guide you we need more info from you:
  • Please share your diet, training, cardio, sleep, supplements etc log with us in a NEW thread, full log journal so our guidance is based on facts you provide.
  • It will take 15-20 minutes max.
  • We have 100s of years of experience between us, so you need to post a LOG Journal with your stats (weight, height, age, years training, cycle history) diet, training, cardio, supplement, sleep details. If you don't log what you eat or train now, open NOTES on phone and start recording it there and paste here. Very easy.
  • Please post a Log Journal asap for us

Generally that much is not recommended long term it will thicken up your blood and will lead to blood clots and stroke. Something closer to 100 mg makes more sense.

bros I think 150 mg a week going to be a good dose 200 mg like running a cycle a little too high.

TRT is one of those things you should get blood work on, get blood work the first month and get blood work every 3 or 4 months after that.

Hey brother 200mg/ week is well beyond TRT doses. If you're not hypogonadal then this is basically just a cruise, which you could run perpetually if you look after your health.

I would ask why you're thinking about TRT, and how you came to 200mg/ week as the target dose? Do you have any recent bloodwork?

Actual age and what are your off TRT levels?

test E is not the best for long term trt. you are better off using cyp since it is a longer ester

I went with my weight in pounds to miligrams.

So a 175 pound guy, 175mg.

You want to get bloods before and after. You ideally want a test dose that doesnt need a AI and will get you to the top of the reference range. It might be 100mg, it might be 200mg. You need bloods after 4 weeks on a dose to know.

Read above on the how-to log posted by @LevButlerov. Format it in an easy to read layout and post a pic of your physique and we’ll get you approved for a log. We’ll take a look at everything about you and ideally get bloodwork and be able to dial in an appropriate testosterone dose for you.

Having said all that 200mg is too high for anyone to blindly start for TRT.
