Sorry for the late check in. It’s been a great week but not without challenges.
Background: been on TRT for 3+months at 125mg Test E, and this week kicked off with 300mg Test E this week + 6.25 aromasin. Aiming for a 8-12wk cycle.
From Monday to Saturday morning I felt amazing. Energy was high, mood was great all week and I probably had one of the better training weeks of my life. Surely somewhat due to placebo but every workout was 10/10. Felt stronger and fuller, focused on form and connection and just felt great all week… including hitting a deadlift PR - 200kg for sets of 4!
I’m training 5 days per week with Wednesday and Sunday as rest days. Below is my workout week. On top of this I’m hitting 10,000 steps daily on working days which includes a 20min treadmill walk at max incline. On rest days I’m focused on active recovery - 15,000 steps steady state walk.
Satruday post workout my wife and I went to a bath house and did an hour of Sauna and cold plunging.
Then from mid saturday afternoon to monday evening I really struggled. Pre TRT i had a resting heart rate of about 52, since commencing TRT i’m now up at 57ish but rfor the last 3 days I’ve been about 65. I’ve had insomnia, felt somewhat congested and struggled. I’ve checked my BP each day throughout this period and had no elevation but it’s knocked me around a little. I skipped my T does on Monday incase this was related.
I then woke up today (tuesday), back to 100%, RHR back to 59 and trained as normal.
Weight in: 77.7kg average for the week
Blood pressure: 112/67
In the below photos, I’m more or less looking the same as last week though I’m definitely feeling fuller, more 3Dish.
I have a few questions that I'd appreciate any feedback on:
- The Heart rate changes was concerning. Do you think this is dose related, and if so should i adjust. whilst i’m committed to this cycle, I also don’t want any unusual heart issues to bubble up. Is this elevation normal? Any changes to protocol you recommend?
- My current traiming block is strength focused. Approx 80 sets per week though i read that when enhanced, you can push the volume to 100+ sets. Would this be advised this early in a cycle?
- My weight has come down marginally and definitely lost some fat. I plan to keep my cals as they are for the next week then reassess. I really want to add some lean size through this cycle to I’m open to upping cals to achieve this though concious not to increase BF. Currently on 2800cals moderate day, 3200cals leg days, 2100 rest days
