Knee surgery

Loadcoil78

Buff Brother
Having knee surgery in a week. Will be out if the gym for at least a week. Have been making good strides in the gym lately. Of course I don't want to loose any of my progress. My plan is to kill it all week up until the surgery. I'm on trt dose of test cyp @ 200 per wk. you guys think I should run a little extra test the next couple weeks to keep from loosing any progress while I'm immobile or am I just over thinking it?

What kind of surgery and how long will you be immobile? Obviously if you can't train the gear is wasted, also, AAS is not great post op, depending on the op.

My meniscus is torn in half. He'll be removing one half. I think I'll be able to hit upper body within two weeks. I am gonna lower my calories and carbs while layed up. Just don't want to loose any muscle. This was just kinda a brain fart thought. I'll probably just bust my ass when I get back to gym

I've had two surgeries, have done "upper body cycles" shortly after, but never had surgery during a cycle. Not sure how long you're going under but make sure you're heathy, BP, lipids etc.

Btw TB500 was great for recovery.

Good luck with your surgery. Heal up completely before hitting it back.

A meni repair is a 60 day recovery. 14-30 on cruches. You won't be going to the gym in a week I can guarantee you. Maybe in a month. Unless you don't want to listen to the doctors and go anyway. Be smart a month off won't hurt you if you do it right.

A meni repair is a 60 days recovery. You won't be going to the gym in a week. Sounds more like a meni replacement to me. Even if not its a min of 60 days you will be on crunches 14-30 days range at least. Be smart. Take the time off. You will b sorry of you don't. If you do it correctly you won't lose and progress and maybe even make some.

You're right krazy. My last surgery on the other knee was about 45 to 60 days to full recovery. I'll be careful. I was thinking about only upper body work once I'm good and stable. No legs until I'm 100%. They won't matter anyway. I haven't been able to squat at all or heavy dead lift since March. To be quite honest my squats have always been hit or miss because of my knees. Maybe after I'm fully recovered I can finally start getting my legs where they need to be. I'm looking forward to that! I'm at 222 now (body fats a little high) and can see easily putting 10 lbs on my legs. They look like I'm riding a rooster 😜 🐓. Hahaha

At least take the two week recovery time. And take it easy. Hard to curl while holding crunches lol. Did you figure your BMR. If you deficit eating while laid up u can actually drop some body fat while laid up. Just be smart and careful

I've been eating the same things day in day out at about the exact same portions. I think I'm just gonna drop my carbs way down. I'll go ahead and pre cook the first weeks food. Maybe I can trim down a little like you said.

Yes. Just figure out your BMR. Eat 500-700 cals under that while down. Mostly fruits veggies and protein. Low fat low carb eating. And then when ur released medically go back to lifting and eating big

Out of surgery. Now time to lay up. I think I'll use this down time to evaluate diet and routine.
So this ends my bulk for now. Put on 10 lbs over the last 3 months and added some strength. Got my bench up to 280 on 5 x 5 with good slow form. Probably not much to y'all but I'm stoked. While my fat is high, I was able to not put on any extra

listen to krazy on that one... in a weeks time you will have just begin the healing process on that type of injury and that's if your a strong healer... you don't just add more test in hopes of keeping gains and being immobile... that's now how it works... one thing i can definitely recommend is using mk-2866 to help with the healing process and to also prevent muscle wastage... it was created specifically for these purposes... run it 25 mg day for 12 weeks... it will go along very nicely with your trt... www.sarms1.com for mk-2866...

Thanks bud. I won't be adding more test. It was a brain fart. I made this post a few hours after I found out about the surgery. I was pretty bummed with a good deal if anxiety. I'll do some reading on the mk-2866. I'm just gonna tighten up the diet(been needing to anyway) and let it heal up right

I got ACL mcl and meniscus surgery back in 2011 my senior year of high school took me a very long time to do anything. My buddy got the same surgery as you and was squatting 5 weeks later. How are you feeling now?
