Feeling good. This year I am changing some of my leg training up. I am not going to bench or box squat. I am also thinking of not wearing a belt on the squats. Right now I seem to be progressing well. I do like doing the reverse band so banded down I like rising against the band as I come up. I got up to 425 banded, and did 2 partial squats. I did not reach parallel. I'm hoping to build on this and get to 5-10 reps near the parallel.
That's the goal. It's a work in progress now!
@PrinceDaddy can't wait to get you on the podcast man. the man, myth and legend right here. gonna be epic!

Yesterday it was 80 unseasonably warm, today raining and 60. As an older guy, I feel it in my bones. This morning definitely seemed to be dragging. They say this is the case as you age. Well seems likely to me. I still got thru my work out this morning.

Lately have been focused on my side project. It seems to be moving along. I'm almost ready to present to the client. I'm hoping this side hustle becomes my new career. We shall see.

Anyone try NAD patch. I brought these:

An NAD patch is designed to deliver NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) through the skin to help support cellular energy, metabolism, and DNA repair. By providing a boost to the body's NAD+ levels, it aims to increase energy, improve mental clarity, support longevity, and enhance recovery.

How an NAD patch works
Transdermal delivery: The patch uses a method like iontophoresis, which uses a gentle electrical charge to help propel NAD+ through the skin and into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system.
Bypassing digestion: This delivery method is an alternative to oral supplements, which can be broken down by stomach acid, and IVs, which require needles.

What it aims to do
Support cellular energy: NAD+ is vital for mitochondrial function, which is the process of converting food into energy for the body's cells.
Improve metabolic health: It can help with glucose and lipid metabolism and may enhance insulin sensitivity.
Boost cognitive function: NAD+ plays a role in protecting neurons and can support mental clarity and focus.
Promote longevity: It helps with DNA repair and reduces inflammation, which are key factors in the aging process.
Enhance physical recovery: It can help with muscle function and recovery after physical activity.
Potential benefits reported by users
Increased energy and alertness
Improved focus and mental clarity
Better sleep quality
Quicker recovery from stress or exercise
Enhanced skin tone over time
Reduced inflammation

Will try soon...

You pushed through the session even feeling that weather drop :D @PrinceDaddy
chest and shoulders at 197 to 191 is a clean push
NAD patches are fine to try but they hit light compared to real NAD+ injections so run them but don’t expect the same energy kick imo

Recorded a forum member podcast with @stevesmi and @Mobster. I really enjoyed the opportunity. The EVO community and support has been tremendous. Thanks all.

I have not been curling much for biceps lately. Been doing more supinated pull ups. While I am in off season, I want my body strength movements to get stronger especially while I am heavier. I have a left/right shoulder imbalance at the moment. I don't pull evenly with both sides when using an overhand grip. Working to even this out.

Leg day tomorrow. Let's go!

Good leg work out today. My progression is bar, 135, 225, 245, 275, 295, 315, 335, 365, 385, 405, 425, 225, 135. Once I get to 315 my rep count starts dropping under 10. At the topmost, only doing 2 reps in partial ROM and only single sets. At this point, I'm not building to anything just trying to keep some strength. More reps hopefully to come. Drug free at this point other than TRT dosing.

I saw some some social media post on a sissy squat. Tom Platz with this Chinese woman with enormous thighs.

I would like to try this after squatting next week. How much should your ass come over your heels. Some look more exaggerated than others. Maybe due to femur length?

Add an inch here, add an inch there... Looks like fun?

Another session in the books. I actually did try some no weight hack sissy squats. Actually talked to a guy doing legs about trying to see if we could get it. Felt very awkward to me. My hack kind of feels heavy for an unstable movement or at least unlearned motion.

Here's another thought, Should you split shoulders and chest workouts. Make them two different days. I have been doing both empasizing the delts. This is the time of year I like to try new things and see how I want to set up in January.

Thanks all. Appreciate all of you!

@LevButlerov
This time of year I don't intentionally rep to to failure. I do rep out to feel the pump or a little burn. My intention is to feel something in the intended muscle. I like pushing limits when on the sauce. I do like volume for me vs heavier weight especially as an older lifter.

Thanks.

Worked my legs today. My Tuesday is shorter quicker version of the Saturday leg workout. On the machines I'm a little lighter and just pumping.
I have started working on the hack sissy squat. I think I'm finding the foot placement and movement pattern. Going to keep working on it.

At this point, just making room for Turkey time. Gym is open that morning. My traps and triceps day. Will likely do my walk as well.
Consistency beats intensity. Have both and the KING!

Late opening for the gym. Still got it done. Felt good. Ordered some Reta and Tirz. I have a single vial of Reta 20, I will start the Reta again on Monday. AS I type this I just realized, I forgot to do my TRT injection. So, I will go get that done.

I'm planning on bloodwork for maybe Dec 12. I have a test/deca blend I may start using after the bloodwork. No blasting yet. Just 1ml TRT type of dose. See if it helps my joints.

Banded Squats today. Getting up to 405 and 425, but these are 1 or 2 reps and partial range. Also working on the hack sissy.

Bloodwork scheduled for Dec 12th. Weekly TRT dose of 200mg and some Reta since August 30. Diet has been mixed. Getting better each day.

So, my typical Sun/Wed routine has been chest/shoulders. I think I am going to focus on just shoulders tomorrow and Wed focus on chest.

Wake up @ 196
Post Workout @ 192

Late opening for the gym. Still got it done. Felt good. Ordered some Reta and Tirz. I have a single vial of Reta 20, I will start the Reta again on Monday. AS I type this I just realized, I forgot to do my TRT injection. So, I will go get that done.

I'm planning on bloodwork for maybe Dec 12. I have a test/deca blend I may start using after the bloodwork. No blasting yet. Just 1ml TRT type of dose. See if it helps my joints.
Good day logged :D
17k steps and the weight drop from 196 to 192 looks clean.
Reta and tirzepatide restart Monday is fine lets see how you feel.

Post Workout @ 190

Banded Squats today. Getting up to 405 and 425, but these are 1 or 2 reps and partial range. Also working on the hack sissy.

Bloodwork scheduled for Dec 12th. Weekly TRT dose of 200mg and some Reta since August 30. Diet has been mixed. Getting better each day.

So, my typical Sun/Wed routine has been chest/shoulders. I think I am going to focus on just shoulders tomorrow and Wed focus on chest.

Sunday Abs/ Shoulders
Wake up @ 196
Post Workout @ 192
Steps : 4K

As I wrote my Friday post, I forgot to do my TRT injection. I ended up doing it Saturday AM before heading off to the gym. This seems to be an offseason predicament amongst competitors.

I have decided to split off my shoulder and chest workouts. I will do shoulder on Sundays and Chest on Wednesdays. I have an imbalance between my left and right side. I'm strong enough to push thru but my left side just feels off and a little tender. I can tell I am using my right side to handle more of the load. I'm going to end up doing light weight volume just to get back to a balanced range of motion.

I have been growing my beard out since Sept. Not sure how long I will let it go. Back in 2024, I had it down to my belly. I have so much white hair now. Not even grey, just white. I guess it gets me ready for Santa season...

I have been meaning to ask... while some guys get gyno, I have seen other guys especially on the older side get deflated nips. Was wondering why?

The AI came back with...

The term "deflated" is a descriptive way to talk about the loss of nipple projection or firmness that often comes with age. While we frequently hear about older men developing larger breasts (gynecomastia), the opposite phenomenon—where the nipple and areola appear flatter, softer, or "deflated"—is also a common part of the aging process.
This change is usually benign and stems from a combination of skin aging, fat loss, and hormonal shifts.
1. Loss of Structural Support (Collagen & Elastin)
The most direct cause is the breakdown of the skin's structural network.
Skin Elasticity: As men age, the body produces less collagen and elastin. These proteins are responsible for keeping skin firm, thick, and "perky." Without them, the skin around the nipple becomes thinner and lax.
Gravity: Over decades, gravity pulls on the chest tissue. As the skin loses its snap, the nipple-areola complex (NAC) can sag or flatten out against the chest wall rather than projecting outward.
2. Subcutaneous Fat Atrophy
While some men gain weight in the chest area, others experience a loss of subcutaneous fat (the fat layer just under the skin).
Thinning Cushion: In youth, a pad of fat often sits behind the nipple and areola, pushing them outward. As we age, this specific fat deposit can diminish or shift, causing the nipple to look "empty" or deflated because it has lost its underlying cushion.
3. Smooth Muscle Atrophy
The nipple is actually an erectile organ containing smooth muscle fibers.
Muscle Tone: In younger men, these muscles are tight and responsive, keeping the nipple somewhat erect or projected even when not stimulated.
The Aging Muscle: Just as skeletal muscles (sarcopenia) tend to weaken with age, the smooth muscle tissue within the nipple can lose tone and responsiveness. This results in a nipple that lies flat and soft rather than standing at attention.
4. Hormonal Changes (Testosterone Drop)
Hormones play a dual role in the male chest.
Gynecomastia vs. Atrophy: A drop in testosterone typically leads to gynecomastia (swollen breast tissue) in many older men. However, in men who do not develop this glandular swelling, the low testosterone contributes to general tissue wasting. Without the anabolic (building) signal of testosterone, the muscle and connective tissue in the chest wall can atrophy, leading to a flatter appearance.
When to Be Concerned
While a gradual flattening or "deflating" of the nipples is a normal part of aging, retraction is different. You should see a doctor if:
It happens suddenly: If a nipple that was previously projecting suddenly pulls inward or flattens over a few weeks or months.
It is unilateral: If only one nipple deflates or inverts while the other remains unchanged.
There are other symptoms: Look for discharge, crusting, a hard lump behind the nipple, or skin dimpling (like an orange peel).
The Bottom Line:
If the change has been gradual and affects both sides equally, it is likely just the natural result of your skin becoming thinner and less elastic, and the underlying tissue losing some of its volume.

The joys of aging. Interesting...

I really dislike ai tbh :D @PrinceDaddy but if you asked me I would have told you #1 reason is collagen issue, more bone broth and more bpc157 would help a lot of older guys.

awesome log brother interesting reading your insights as you go along with training and life. And on the nad+ ive found not to over do it or not take it too often i found for myself it made me more lethargic if i took it to often and too much seem to burn me out. I take it like once a week now. See what works for you bro

Wake up @ 198
Post Workout @ 193

I seem to be dragging a bit. Feels like to me its the temperature change. I generally like the cooler temps, but my body seems to be adjusting.
I busted open some BPC 157 & TB500 (10mg ea) vials and injected into my left delt. As mentioned, I have some soreness on the left delt. Plan on injecting once weekly on Fridays for 10 weeks. 10 units. Hoping it helps.

I'm planing to switch my TRT to the Test/Deca blend next week after blood work. 400mg total. This should carry me into Feb where my contest cycle will begin. Hoping it helps with my joints.

So, I have this vial of Tren Enthanate. It is much darker than the typical tren color which is yellow. This is more like a coca cola color. I think I should toss it. What do you think?

I'm going to toss it. I think when I ordered it I had multiple vials and did use one, but it was not this dark. It was golden yellow. This one just got dark over time. Stored in cool dark conditions, but just turned a weird dark color.

@PrinceDaddy the reta DOES increase thirst. the main reason is the fat loss has to get excreted somewhere and a common way is urine. so just like with fasting you will be losing fluids faster then you can get them in

Here, as elsewhere when it's been discussed, ALL steroids (subject to proper storage) are GTG for up to 2 years passed the date.

As per ALL meds: cool, dark and dry place.

I have split out my shoulders and chest into separate days. I have a left shoulder issue. I'm able to press 235 for 5 reps but I want to build back to 4 sets of 10x225. Much easier to do when on cycle androgens. I have been trying multiple shoulder movements. I have started doing standing barbell shoulder press. I want to get stronger in this movement. I have always done seated presses.

Today on the standing press, I went thru the following
10xbar
10x55
10x65
10x75
10x85
10x95
10x105
10x115
10x125
10x135

At this point, I want to get used to the movement pattern and get stronger at it. My delts felt a good stretch.

Good call seperating the two if your goal is strength, solid

Steps : 19K

I left my Versa gripps at home this morning. So could not go as heavy as I normally do. My back strength exceeds my grip strength. So 110s instead of 130s. I have a new set coming. My old ones are peeling, so time for them to go.

Took my second dose of Reta 2mg today. Expect to be thirsty...

Out on my walk, they were putting up a sign. Snapped a picture.

Got the leg work out in, did not push anything extraordinary today. Just getting it done.
I have been wanting to get under 190 so I am eating better quality food.

With the reta, I think it is increasing thirst. Last year I felt the same, but thought it was due to the summer heat. It is cooler here and I feel a strong desire drink fluids. Can't seem to satiate despite going back and forth to empty out.

One day at time...
You will definitely get to that goal weight brother 💪 i didnt realize thirst was a side of reta thats interesting.

@PrinceDaddy its okay about the grips. probably works in your favorite anyway.

Not super heavy with rest between. I feel like I am opening up. I know i just feel better on the sauce, deca. Joints just feel looser.

I'm starting my blended after bloodwork this Friday. Hopefully I can get that movement strength back.
I'm glad to hear your shoulders are feeling better. Keep up the grind, man. But don't overdo it. Once you get older like us, you've got to be smarter when you train. @PrinceDaddy

@PrinceDaddy Nice going on this one. Prince. You're doing what you have to do. You're training smart. You're not training stupid. That's what I respect about you.
