Veteran Log 2026 Bodybuilding Log - 57 year old competing in Masters

Basically instead of using bar presses for chest and shoulders I have been doing plate loaded machines or smith. Wed, I only do chest so incline and bench pressing.

This the second week where I am using plate loaded machines in place of incline press, shoulder press, bench press. My shoulders do feel better.
This is week 3 of the HGH, I am definitely retaining water as I seem to move up on weight without any change to diet.

No androgen rage. I have been going thru the motions. Workouts are good, but not great. Consistent. Just lacking intensity. It will come.

My right glute hip has been sensitive. I wonder if I did something yesterday. One wonders if it is a tweak or if I was just jittery injecting my right glute yesterday.

@PrinceDaddy I love how you update the little details, like about the androgen rage and about how your shoulders feel. That's crucial. If you don't have good shoulders, you're in big trouble with upper body lifting.

My usual Monday workout. I feel pretty good and strong with the back movements. I still have the shoulder and glute issue, but its more a sensitivity issue as it does not affect my workout. Annoying thing today is the plate loaded row machine had under repair sign on it. I looked all around, pulled the handles, nothing felt broken to me. I sat in there and ran thru my motions with no plates. Everything felt fine. I found the maintenance guy to ask him what was wrong with the machine. Turns out both arms had cracks in the metal. OK. Guess I will have to use the pin machine until it is fixed.

Today was cold, it was around low 30s this morning. This past Saturday it was 80, This Friday it is supposed to be 90. Texas weather swing is just crazy. I am affected. I'm cheap so I don't have the heat turned on. I don't mind being cold. Hate being hot. Likely I will have to turn on the A/C on Thursday this week.

I brought the sauna vest a while back, but did not like how I looked in it. I decided to wear it under the hoodie in the house to stay warm. I think I am going to do this for a few days. I do think it suppresses a little hunger as you feel tighter and fuller. In April I do plan on starting to use the waist trainer and fasting.

I feel like my biggest issue is the abdominal distention and I am trying to focus on that this year.

I'm thinking of taking the HGH arounf 12pm and blood work will be around 2:30 to see the HGH effects on bloods. Will be fasted.

Was wondering why my workout was dragging today. I take some pre workout pills. I left the caffeine pill on the plate. 200mg. That would do it.
I am still doing plate loaded presses for the chest and it seems to be working well.

Another interesting observation. I go up 2 lbs from Tues to Wed consistently, 1 more pound into Thursday, and another pound into Friday. I am running the HGH M-F, this seems like a consistent patter over the last 4 weeks. Next week will be the last week.

Hopinh for some androgen rage to kick in. Not quite there yet.

I have been looking for a burn in the abdominals, I do some non weighted twisting and do feel my obliques. My core is strong, and a few weeks back I did feel them. Now I am much stronger but just don't feel it as much. I am chasing the feel, slowing down the motion.

Another day in the books.

Nice strong workout today at least until I got to the leg press. Squats were very strong. I have been slowing down the movement and trying to feel the burn. With just 2 plates each side I had a great set, as I exited the press I tweaked something in my lower back right spine. It's not terrible, but just annoying.

Nice strong workout today at least until I got to the leg press. Squats were very strong. I have been slowing down the movement and trying to feel the burn. With just 2 plates each side I had a great set, as I exited the press I tweaked something in my lower back right spine. It's not terrible, but just annoying.

@PrinceDaddy yeah dude, it's tough with cats. Sometimes they're just not going to get along. Maybe slowly introduce them. The one I got, he already knew the other one. He used to come over all the time and visit him and they became really good friends so it was really easy when I adopted him.

You seem to not hold fluid on Deca. I am the same. Looking really good already bother with great back width vascularity in the legs already. With several weeks to go you have things nicely on track legend 🩵

Have you run ss31 and nad+ before with some success? I've seen a lot of mixed reviews on nad+

Another good workout in the books. My focus is to get a good workout. I want to feel something. Blood work, just waiting on Estradiol now.
Weight seems to be moving in the right direction. Tomorrow will be fasting day. Not along fast. Just 4AM to 4PM. I want to start putting in the habit.

Ordered peptides, I should be able to start the NAD+ and/or SS-31 on April 13th. This will get me thru May, will likely need to order again
depending on efficacy for me. I have no experience with SS-31, NAD+, and PT-141 so just want to see how and what I feel.

nice thats a big peptide order but you really shouldn't introduce all of them at once before the show so close only a few months out. Intro 1 at a time and see how you do :D @PrinceDaddy

Bros, damn, five-pound fluctuation from when you wake up to post-workout. It just shows how much our weight moves around throughout the day. I bet I move a lot of weight as well. @PrinceDaddy
