Here we go again!

Work is slowing down, days are getting longer, and I’m getting antsy. I haven’t barely lifted at all since November , if I recall, when I stopped my cycle because I couldn’t manage my workload and take advantage of a cycle at the same time.
On top of that, I had tendinitis in my left arm that just wouldn’t quit for I don’t even know how long. Peptides, all my attempts to rehab it, nothing was working while I just kept hammering it with work, weights, and water skiing 6-7 days a week, often twice a day.

My strength and size is down and I’m much softer. But I feel great! Hahaha

I’ve been running 150-210mg test e since December, which has kept me feeling good, strong at work, and side effect free. I’m way overdue for bloodwork, so that’s coming soon.

Not sure what I’ll run just yet, but I’m well stocked already. Probably test e 250-300/week, GH 2-4 iu a day, KLOW, maybe EQ, and I’m interested in a tiny Reta dose for the awesome bloodwork. I’m open to ideas.

Most importantly I want to get back into the routine of lifting and logging. It’s going to be a slow start. My diet never really changed I just didn’t eat as much or track specifically.

I recently found a bunch of old pics in an old computer and I’ll probably sprinkle some of those in from time to time. Some cool work pics, and some really old physique pics both from when I was natty and some early enhanced pics.

I’m going to keep training as simple as possible. I have no specific goals, any type of improvement is good and useful to me. Strength, mobility, endurance. All of it. But I cannot burn myself out. I really enjoy PRs, I get a rush from maximum effort lifts. But if I can barely function at work or I can’t waterski then I just can’t do it. I can be sore, no problem. But I can’t push myself to the max.

Well it is about time brother. You are all over Evo every single day with anecdotes, support, wisdom and stories for days. Now the new log. Love it 🩵

Sunday side quest: I didn’t pull my dock out of the river on time last fall, and it got taken by the ice. I found it about a half mile down river and my friend helped me pull it back up and set it in place for the season. We tied it to a bracket first, but it was sideways and the boat couldn’t steer properly against the massive drag from the fast current and then we snapped the rope. So I got a ridiculous grip workout and we lost so much ground every time I needed a break that I had to pinch my fingers between the handle and my knees and that worked hahaha. Had to get a pic though.

Can’t do river work without getting on the water. Yes it was cold. I don’t make the rules 🤣

Current physique. Taken this morning. No idea what I weigh. Need a new scale

@toddthelineman We'll have to bring you back on the podcast soon to talk about some of the changes you've made. You definitely made some big strides.

Hahaha I’ll come back on. And I’ll drink coffee first so I don’t say “um, you know?” So much. But I feel much more that I have gone backwards and not made any strides at all. I have not lifted weights in months! Almost four months! And I was struggling to be consistent before that. I have had some really strong days at work, but not consecutive and not as brutal as the old days, so my body feels unstressed and I may have healed more🤞🤞🤞.
With any luck I can get a good push forward without any nagging injuries resurfacing

Take advantage of the longer days and definitely slip in some extra workouts. @toddthelineman you'll feel fantastic.

Yes bro back at it again. I thought work would be picking up right now. Skiing season is right around the corner so you picked a good time to get back on the grind again.

Was the tendonitis from pulling cable at work?

I found it about a half mile down river and my friend helped me pull it back up and set it in place for the season. You couldn't tie a line to the dock bro?!?! Cost yourself a ski rope with that hilly billy move lol

You couldn't tie a line to the dock bro?!?! Cost yourself a ski rope with that hilly billy move lol
Oh no, we already broke a regular rope on the only bracket to tie to, which caused the dock to pull at an angle. I built it with pink foam boards around three sides, under the carpet, so that you can pull right up and tie off and the boat is always safe. The ski rope worked and I could let it go if there was a problem.

I thought work would be picking up right now.
You would think so! I’m trying to stay away from stuff that’s not worth it, too far away, or just too big and convoluted. I almost did myself in again recently trying to get into one of the biggest projects there is. I’m almost done with my ring around two cities that I started in November. Just have to cross two interstates. No idea when that will be scheduled, but the deadline is May so we came in super early and have been essentially done for a month. I’ve broken away and done a handful of smaller projects all the through that one. Next is an entire city, the rings and the system that feeds through the neighborhoods. It’s actually the first city I ever built! Back to the very beginning! But it’s on hold. Could be summer, could be next year.
Was the tendonitis from pulling cable at work?
I think it was a huge combination of things, but all of my hardest team skiing acts are done with only my left arm. The different pyramids, you brace to the right, holding the next guys bicep basically, and hold the rope with your left. I wakeboard left foot forward and was doing a lot of wake to wake jumps and that’s definitely what started it. But then I couldn’t get it to stop without giving up for the season. I stopped wakeboarding last year because of it, stopped curling, pull-ups, anything that bothered it, except skiing and work of course. I’m not sure how much team skiing I’ll do this year. Where my main work is now, that’s where our sister team is. So I can probably practice with them or maybe even join. But the big job, the city build, they have a decent team too. And I’ll talk to them. Or I’ll get lucky and be able to build a crew or two to handle those jobs for the most part while I do intermittent work in Chicago and Milwaukee and I can ski at home. Or maybe I’ll just ski for fun on the weekends🤷‍♂️

Pretty much a rest day today. No hard work, just travel and standing and walking and light pulling. A friend sent me off with tamales and I traded two of them for some Mexican/Indian chicken noodle soup. Doubtful my macros are accurate. I’m feeling pretty full.

Tomorrow will be serious though. Lots of climbing and pulling.

I went to bed at 9:30pm yesterday, woke up wiiiiiide awake at 1:00am and laid there and tried to fake myself back to sleep, but gave up at 3am and started my day.

@toddthelineman water skiing is not easy at all. I tried it myself. You really have to know what you're doing.

When you work a hard labor job, it's really a matter of balancing your training alongside that. After I retired from engineering, I was able to use my mind more in the gym. I wasn't thinking so much. @toddthelineman

Maybe not 100% accurate. These are estimates. I didn’t cook breakfast. I’m sure I’m close

This is how I get so hungry lol. We put up a little over a mile today. Not a terrible day. Also got 60 pushups in while I was cooking dinner. One set. I could only guess, but I have always thought that pushups make my back feel better.

protein is good but lets start moving protein down a bit and add carbs, can you get to 600 carb level to start? :D @toddthelineman

I'm pretty sure you won't mind me say but glad your work slowed down to allow you to get back into it!

Meals look awesome.
Current physique. Taken this morning. No idea what I weigh. Need a new scale
Looking good still mate. Still lean as!

can you get to 600 carb level to start?
Oooooof! I can try. Might make me sleepy
push ups and squats and planks if you can
I can for sure do a lot more pushups, but I probably can’t do squats at all around days that I climb a lot. It’s much harder than I make it look. The belt with tools and loaded with materials in the bags is over 30 pounds. You can get shakey
Some protein packed meals there
I love it
I don't think I could climb a post like that - not a great fan of heights.
It’s definitely something you have to love and want to do. We are all crazy hahaha
glad your work slowed down to allow you to get back into it!
Me too, but it probably won’t last. Feast or famine around here!

I have a picture, a selfie, that I took from about 90’. My ground man is at the bottom and the perspective makes him look like an ant hahahaha. The pole was like 70-80 years old, covered in vines and unsecured wires. Really skinny with deep wide cracks running down it and it pounced around like a palm tree while I climbed it. I actually had to climb it twice. People couldn’t hear what I was yelling from the ground hahaha. You have to be really really confident in your skills to do something like that, and it was still a pretty big deal. You would want to die if you slipped on one like that. If you grab the pole it will skin you bad, pencil sized splinters from the climb up. The things we do for money, huh?

You board left forward and ski right forward? I'm the same way.

Have you ever tried a therabar for the tendonitis? When I actually used mine it actually fixed it up for a long time.

How long til the competition season starts? I bet with a little time off and some aggressive peptide protocols you could be good to go and ready to compete again.

This is how I get so hungry lol. We put up a little over a mile today. Not a terrible day. Also got 60 pushups in while I was cooking dinner. One set. I could only guess, but I have always thought that pushups make my back feel better.
Damn bro you guys got a lot of faith in those spur thingies lol. Not a lot of pole climbing around here these days. I think this only allowed back in the bush. In your situation there the guys have to use bucket trucks or those hook ladders

Not too many people doing it here either. It’s like walking for me because I never stopped. I’m those videos, all I’m doing is carrying the cable up, and dressing the pole in front of my guy in the bucket who’s doing the heavier work. Cuts the time in half at least. Bucket trucks are, in my experience, much much more hazardous than a competent climber, at very least for what we do. The problem is nobody wants to do it unless they absolutely have to, and then when you have to you’re not in shape for it, not natural at it, etc.

Last Tuesday we got called out for an emergency outage. This huge company, one of the biggest cable companies in the world and the fastest growing one, couldn’t find anyone who could get that cable back up because the poles were inaccessible. Too high for a ladder, too far off the road, and the ground was steep. Had to be climbed. They called from Omaha to Chicago to Minneapolis to Bloomington Illinois. The job was in Des Moines Iowa. I sent two guys in an old clapped out Chevy and they got it up no problem. They said the techs there had never seen a person climb a pole ever. It was two poles. And it crossed a road. I paid the guys half and they made a modest week’s pay in a day, milking it the whole time. Could’ve been done in an hour. Soon there will be less and less people who can do it.

Well, I taught myself to ski right foot forward. Which wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be hahaha.

Yeah I sure did use a Thera bar. It may have helped, but I was just hammering that arm.

My arm is currently 100%, we will be starting practice 3x week in early May and 2 shows a week. First tournament early June. I’m starting Klow as soon as it arrives and I’ll run it the whole time I think.

No training to report today, just more climbing, pulling, and some digging and frustration. 7am-8:15pm. Cook, eat, sleep.

For the past week I have been waking up in the middle of the night completely wide awake and unable to go back to sleep. And not particularly tired early at night either. Frustrating.

Aaah @LevButlerov, I literally have rice already prepped I just… don’t even think of it. Figure I got some in breakfast and lunch. I will try to remember. But I’m very curious what the upside is to eating more carbs? Might help me sleep I suppose. Tbh, I eat intuitively and for convenience. I’m wanting to experiment and make adjustments but I can’t have any specific goals. Just want to perform well and I need a lot of energy.

You're lean already :D it will be very easy for you to grow and make gains even with just work. Add 100 push ups 100 squats 5min plank daily even when you dont train, it will be a win! @toddthelineman you clearly have good genetics for carbs I see it.

So I’ve been taking melatonin this whole time. My sleep hygiene is not the best right now, I can’t keep my phone on dnd or in another room because I get emergency callouts that pay well and I always want to be the customer’s first option.

But full dark, no sound, generally in bed around 9:30 and asleep by 10:30. I eat too close to bedtime but it’s pretty unavoidable due to my long work days. No tv in the room etc.

I do have trazadone but I only use it as a last resort because if I take it continuously it does some pretty alarming things to me mentally.

I suspect it’s the bright sunny days affecting me but idk. I have actually felt basically fine but today particularly I can feel that I need to catch up

I struggle also to be fair. Too much to fit into a 24 hour period and unfortunately my sleep is what is compromised.

Routine is what helps me, when I can adhere

Been that way this week. Trying to stay on track training wise and had work being done on my roof. Tomorrow I'd like to hit legs but also have a fella over to work on the gutters (one small section) and right around noon or so (ie RIGHT after both lol) we're recording a podcasts... yours is next week ha ha)

2026 TRT+ log

@toddthelineman glad to see you got another one up and going! Let’s get it.

Crazy big day there mate. With the sleep, could it be a build up of fatigue?

Nice looking steaks there!

You looked like a squirrel running up that pole lol. That's awesome that you and your guys can all do it the old school way still. I've seen a couple hydro guys here climb poles but it didn't look anything like you. They had this harness thing that wrapped around the pole and they would sorta shimmy up the pole with it. Nothing like you guys.

Bro you need to advertise your climbing skills and emergency services. There's a market niche there for you to exploit

I’ll take a good video when I’m fresh and not loaded down after my first squat session in three months. I absolutely LOVE climbing. The guys you saw are using a fall arrest device called a “buck squeeze”. I have one, and it’s hotly debated if they are actually required. They’re ridiculously expensive (mine is the “super squeeze”-$1400!) and cumbersome and tiring to use. Really messes with my old injuries. But climbing schools still teach free climbing and if you’re not capable of doing it you don’t pass. Those things aaaaaalmost guarantee you won’t fall, but not 100%, and employers buy them and just throw dumb ass dude up there with next to no training and it’s not ok at all. If the ground is energized and lights your squeeze on fire you’re super screwed. And that definitely happens.

As far as advertising… it’s such a strange thing for us. Lots of old burnouts and big companies claiming they are the real deal to get work. But the few thousand, maybe less, guys that really do what I do get all their work by word of mouth. I’ll just get a phone call from out of the blue from someone maybe really far away and they have something they need done like right now and they can’t find anyone who can do it.

The management team that’s getting me most of my work right now has flat out said they don’t want to share me with other markets but I’m about to lay down on them again if they don’t. If I can’t expand then I’m just going to have to keep doing all my own work and that’s not the plan at all.

Ya all that health and safety fall arrest stuff is bullshit. I'm supposed to use this thing called a first man up when I work on extension ladders. Basically a pole that hooks a lifeline to trusses in a facility. That pole and rope cost me $1200...I never use it.

Ya bro you need to push your own services and let it be known you guys can climb and get the job done cheaper and faster. Would lead to a lot of good sub work I bet. I'm sure you're guys will love it too with payouts like you gave them. Everyone wins.

You should add a slogan to your business cards and invoices. Something like "Fastest climbers in the business" or something like that.

@BeMe i used to do a lot of commercial fiber installs, and we’d bring the hook ladder in if we couldn’t use a lift of some kind. Or step ladders. I never heard of a rope like that. I probably would have made someone else use it hahaha. holy cow I used to do some dumb stuff! Stand on the top of a super tall step ladder and be in a drop ceiling all the way to my thighs lmao. I haaaate ladders. Outdoors they’re kinda ok because you can bite the soil with the feet. But warehouse floors are slippery. Ratchet strap to a fork lift or something lol. Those hook ladders cause the most deaths for us because when you set it on the line midway, it pulls the line around and if it slips through a clamp at the pole the next span sometimes will go into power and either shock or electrocute you, or burn the line and you fall. Gotta be careful. They’ll let anybody do it I swear.

Loving the details in your log mate. Those restless nights are just unavoidable sometimes 😅 I feel your pain brother 🤣

Lol yea I stand on top of step ladders all the time to work on light fixtures. Like if there's only a 10ft inside and I'd have to go to the truck to get my 12 I'll just stand on top and do my thing. Nothing around to balance on except the light fixture itself lol.

The only issue is when the lights sway it can make you a bit dizzy and throw of your balance a bit. I think board sports help a lot for that kinda thing though.

Ever see someone ski on a ladder? LOL

Yesterday’s basics. Long day ending in a meeting from 6:30-8:30 with two hours travel in between. Finally got some serious sleep last night though.
Got 30 pushups in before breakfast quick and then hand pulled a mile and got it all done, did some cleanup and it’s a wrap! Three guys and I built a whole small town’s new fiber optic cable system in six weeks. Was out by 3:00pm.

Now it’s just small jobs here and there commuting from the house and plenty of home office time that I’ll break up with jogs and visits to the squat rack. I feel really positive. And I haven’t for a while.

Sounds like you're in a good place. Let it ride bro!

Dunno what's more dangerous, that flimsy tree branch or that toothpick of a crooked old pole lol

Rough day in the office today. Got a nice little pump today though. I alternated between each movement instead of taking breaks between sets. Also a nap, even though I slept nine hours last night.

New bloodwork scheduled on Tuesday

No cats or geese were harmed in the production of this log.

Good 2 days I see 225 on squat pushing it :D love it @toddthelineman noticed those are geese in pic?
clean meat I like meat pics and start pushing protein to 250 and carbs to 500 level you're so lean you can handle this easy! and you do a lot of output at work.

I think I got it today. I might do more protein than that just to feel full. High carb, medium protein is different for me and I suppose I’ll lower the fat too, which is easy enough to shop for but I’m not used to it and it’ll take some figuring out 🙂

Easing back into it. I probably could get it up. I was repping more than that when I was consistent

you can push the carbs up easy I think your work and your genetics allow for way higher carb uptake and on the low protein days bump in the protein bar :D

Oh yeah. I was doing yard work today. It’s a goose massacre out there. There’s a big mama fox I bet she’s bigger this year

Here we go again!
YES BRO!!! I'm psyched for this!

Also got 60 pushups in while I was cooking dinner.
No one would understand this but us... our spouses be lookin at us like WTF :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I’m wanting to experiment and make adjustments

I experimented for all of December in between logs and I figured out the best carbs for me. I was so like you and didn't understand carbs very much after a decade or more of a quasi carnivore and carb avoidance diet. I'd only get bloated all the time with what I thought were "all carbs". Turns out if I eat plain sweet potatoes and rice and keep the carbs to just whole foods and slow glycemic index (white rice still agree with me too as much as brown) I'm totally fine on carbs with no bloat. I've switched now where I'm very low fat, high carb and protein around 300g and I'm learning out like crazy. I'm excited to follow you trying all this out bro!

Imagine I’ll save a fortune on food. When I did do the protein king thing (which honestly I was eating that much and more often for years already but not super consistent like that) I felt really good recovery from lifting and you can see the crazy recomp in my first log. But there’s not a whooooole lot to recomp this time. I got my new scale today, 189 pounds. So same weight as when I joined evo but a bit leaner.

Just a bunch of yard work and moving equipment around and some maintenance today.

Biceps are sore in the best way. No tendinitis

Didn’t hit my carb goal and now it’s late and… I just don’t want rice hahaha. Or honey or fruit or anything like that. I’ll get it tomorrow I’m sure since I’ll be lifting.

I think I’ll move the weight extra up on some lifts and still keep the reps around 10-12.

Wow bro so you've hung on to your gains and recomp from EVO that is a testament right there. I loved getting Protein King I ate steak after steak and pounds of cheese melted on top it was amazing. One of my highest days in my 2025 log was almost 700g of protein LOL.

Rough day in the office today. Got a nice little pump today though. I alternated between each movement instead of taking breaks between sets. Also a nap, even though I slept nine hours last night.

New bloodwork scheduled on Tuesday

No cats or geese were harmed in the production of this log.
A nap and 9 hours sounds like a dream!

Hahaha well. I maybe shouldn’t have gotten the cheapest scale ever, because now it says 175 which makes a lot more sense 🤷‍♂️
Whatever scale it is you look great bro, and that's you not on cycle and not even really lifting until recently... I'd not want to run into you in a back alley on cycle we'd have to start calling you Reacher (you seen that show, he's on Test/Deca/Dbol :p)

I’ve never seen any shows hardly hahaha. I forget to watch tv if nobody is around to turn it on. But yeah the scale doesn’t matter, but I definitely lost strength so I’m way late to get back into it. Sure is nice not to have any little nags though. I haven’t felt this good in a long time.

Good updates bro! Food looking on point - this log got me with the Geese and Cats - my two favorite animals! I have a little flock that I feed at a lake near me.
I have never heard someone say they love geese hahaha. I don’t hate geese or anything but like, they poop on everything and if they have a nest they are hilariously aggressive

I take great pleasure in challenges - and befriending the most surly bird is a challange! :ROFLMAO:

@toddthelineman looks like some good eats right there, very simple meals but they do the job.

Sounds like you got a lot of calories burned with all the work that you did with the yard and moving equipment. Be careful with that bicep. You don't want to develop any issues going forward. @toddthelineman
