Our newest addition. I've been bugging my wife for another dog to keep Lucy company ever since we lost Sasha. The wife has been shutti g me down, 3 weeks ago my wife started volunteering at the SPCA one time per week and last thursday she came home and said she found the one for Lucy! I was quite surprised but excited.
Last friday we brought home Shay. She is a 9yo(same as Lucy) 35 pound Australian Cattle dog and she is so sweet!!! Her and Lucy have a little work to do but it's been great having her here.

Australian cattle dog? Super smart. I’m a little surprised you didn’t choose a puppy or young dog. I always thought that was a good dynamic when getting a second dog. To get a young one so the original dog didn’t feel threatened. Maybe Lucy is too sweet for all that
companion
This was all my wife. She couldn't let that sweet girl stay at the SPCA. Of course a younger dog would have been great but this was a rescue so we didn't really have a choice. We don't have the time for a puppy right now.
It took a couple days but Shay and Lucy are doing good. Shay is still a little nervous in some situations but they are figuring it out. No bloodshed so we are in a good place.
