After almost a decade battling auto-immune disorder, this little yogi is embarking on a three-month intensive program to become strong AF by a particular birthday that's creeping up (bringing me closer to 50 than 40, yikes).
I've never really done any weight training, but this week I sauntered my (flat) butt into a gym, signed up, and have just done my very first weights workout. It was daunting, especially given I had no idea what I was doing and no idea what weight to put on anything or how many reps to do or how the machines even worked, but you have to start somewhere, right (thanks YouTube for all the guidance).
Training suggestions are super dooper welcome BTW. Especially regarding how to build a booty worth watching as it exits the room.
It's been a huge journey of intense research and even more intense self-discipline to pull myself out of the monstrous fatigue and muscle weakness of autoimmune to reach this point -- so I see the next three months as a challenging gift!
Current weight is around 56kg. I'm not sure what is a realistic goal in terms of kilograms of muscle to be gained, but at this stage any gain is a good gain.
Low appetite is a huge issue still, but I've managed to hit 100g to 120g of quality protein every day across 4 - 5 meals (including by adding WPI), alongside at least 9g of creatine, for a little while now. Together, this has been life-changing already even without training.
Now excuse me for now, I gotta go demolish another round of protein.
