Veteran Log RoidRage69 Training Log Sponsored by Purity Source Labs

Oh I know I'm going for surgery as soon as the injury happened and the MRI shows it. Dr said he is going to refer me to a surgeon. It's the fastest way to get better. Rehab is a waste of time and money IMO.
Go with surgery, you're right forget rehab. update us after @RoidRage69

Pretty sure I will have surgery. It's extremely painful 8 days later and seems worse than yesterday. I expected to need surgery on this as did with my other shoulder 6 years ago. Good thing is deadlifts cause zero pain. Will do SSB squats and deadlifts 1-2 times per week until I can press again.
I hope that it doesn't cost you too much money. Hopefully you have good insurance.

We have good insurance since the wife works at hospital. Still sucks paying 20-30% though. We used to pay nothing.
that's not bad at least you got the insurance there :D

i'm sure she knows a doctor who will give you a deal
Things don’t work that way lol. I wish. No Hes got appt with a well known shoulder surgeon on west coast. He did his right shoulder 2019. He does sports med as well. Im looking forward to hearing his thoughts on this.

Did a couple warmup sets with SSB. Decided to stop early as felt like passing out. Can't sleep because of the pain. There is no drug or anything other than surgery that will change that.

Called and have a meeting with my surgeon who did my right arm in 2019. He is supposed to be the best Shoulder surgeon on the west coast. Can't wait to get this repaired so I can be normal again.

@RoidRage69 Did he say you'll ever be able to lift heavy again? How long would the recovery phase be after the surgery?

Bros. Nice job on the leg training. It's looking good if you ask me. Even with the surgery you can still work your legs. @RoidRage69

Hate to hear it man but knowing you you’ll make the best of it. Prayers big guy

Doesn't work that way. Insurance requires in network doctors and you can't change pricing.

i would pay 100K for property surgery vs. going to a cheap doctor. as long as its fixed its worth every $$$$

@RoidRage69 What kind of recovery time do you think you'll have? Is it going to be something where you're out for a few months, or is it something where you think you'll be back within a few weeks?
I'm still able to train squat and deadlift so I'm not out of the gym. I would expect to stay away from benching for two weeks most likely.

Just make sure you get one of those tampon things when you're doing squats. This way you're not putting too much pressure on the injury. But I like the warrior mentality. @RoidRage69

really? that is shockingly short
No it's not. Most injuries don't sideline you from working out. You train the body parts that don't hurt. Hence why I'm deadlifting 3 times per week and squatting 2 times per week. Last time I had my right shoulder done I was back to lifting upper body 7-10 days after surgery. My doc wanted me
To avoid frozen shoulder. I never said I was going to train upper body hard. Will just go through motions.

No pain at all. The worst pain is getting in and out of bed. There simple things hurt. I also tried doing the bar on bench and could barely touch the chest. Just wanting to see how bad it is. Champions never stop lifting. They just lift around the injury and only do what doesn't hurt.

how come QB's in the NFL have shoulder surgery and are out an entire year?

The SSB bar has padding on it.
Yeah, I don't really believe in the padding stuff, but in your situation with your injury, I'll allow it. @RoidRage69 it's sort of beta to use one of those things in my mind. And you know me, I'm a big alpha.

All of the safety squat bars I’ve seen are set up with pads. You cannot use the pads in comp. So makes no sense to use them in the gym. Your back gets used to the knurling scraping though the shirt. Just try no to wear a tank top. Ouch Thats harsh on the skin sometimes.

Different kind of training and sport completely QB had to to throw a ball with massive force a lot diff activation. Prob way more complicated! Or a pitcher. Diff rehab for that.

Also still using 150-200mg EQ. Will lower doses again next week to 250mg Sustanon, 150mg Deca, and 150mg EQ for remainder of the year. No reason to be on a big cycle now that I am going to be lifting much lighter than I normally do. Not going to gain anything from it. Ok everyone have a good week and get Strong AF!!!

Strong work, 485lbs across sumo and conventional deads are pure control even on lower gear. :D @RoidRage69

Plan and goals are to get shoulder fixed so I can be on my way to benching 425 by end of next year. Also want to squat 650 and deadlift 750 by end of 2026.
Oh bugger good luck with that. Im going for an ultrasound today on the right shoulder, we might have the same goals next year, just ill be benching and squatting half that 😆

Huge lifts with a injury man, really impressive

Damn getting the family combo pack with everything.
Bpc tb hgh anavar, would love to see the docs face when you go back for the check up fully healed 😆
He told me on my last shoulder surgery he looked back on notes and said I had full rang of motion 3 weeks after taking sling off. I want to at least equal that.

Rotator cuff repair, bicep tendon repair, and a couple other things. Dr said "it's going to suck for you".
Fuck he didnt sugar coat it at all did he lol.
Wishing all the best for surgery ya animal.. hopefully your back asap bending barbells and stealing all the the plates 😂👊🔥

It's the type that has the smallest incissions and fastest recovery. Arthroscopic I believe. He performes over 500 shoulder surgeries per year. Half of them are complete shoulder replacements. He is ranked #1 on west coast.
Sounds like you're in great hands. You're a west coast guy? Never woulda guessed. Duno why but I always got a Florida vibe from you two.

Good deadlift day even on light work, 375lbs for 5s still strong pulls. :D

Surgery scheduled for December 8th.
Best of luck with this. I have mt post MRI appt scheduled for next week. See what they have to say but i'm pressing on with the build for now.
I think a little downtime and hitting it hard with peptides once i'm not building is all i'm gonna need. Guess we will see.

Really considering going sub 220 by end of year. Cant train the way I want so might as well shred up so when I can train harder I will be able to make gains without so much added fat. Now is the time to make that 220 weight class a reality.

RDLs at 485lbs are big pulls and the bump in weight is impressive considering you had the injury. :D

485 for deadlifts is wild mate! Would love to see some of this training footage

I have video it’s not at a high quality resolution I cannot post short vid clips here anymore. says too large file 11 seconds of vid. 🤷‍♀️ I think they must have downgraded their site as to size files you can post unfortunatey! @LevButlerov can you prob solve this? Cannot post any vid lately! Tried multiple times to clip still u postable. Gotta be a site issue. Frustrating. I want to share but no matter what I do it won’t post.
Sorry cannot share. Not gonna do a bunch of huge extra steps just to post here. 💪🌸

I should have my wife film me today. Deadlift day again!!! Might work way up to an all time pr. I need to break 635.
635 better after your surgery.

Yeah Im going to wait until a few months after surgery to even try. I figure I will be doing legs and lower back stuff for 3 months until I can even think about any upper body stuff. No hurries. I will be back better than before. Going to do alot of reverse hypers, hip mobility stuff and good mornings. As well as leg extesions, curls, and leg press 3X week. Who knows maybe my squat will be 700 by mid 2027? There is always a silver lining when you get injured. It allows you to focus on other areas that you neglect.

Decided to go easy today. No reason to mess up the shoulder when I am already doing 2 deadlift sessions per week. I think I am not going to lift more than 500 on deadlift until many months after surgery. Its so close no reason to fuck it up. The wife hit 402 on deadlift today. Super proud of her. She is on track to hit a 450 deadlift at May's Nationals. The amazing thing is she she has tons of fatigue with the amount of volume each week. 402 while in heavy training means she could probably taper to as much as 440 if fully rested. Ok everyone have a good week ahead and get Strong AF!!!

Good deadlift day logged, pulling 485 both styles and the 375 rows is strong power especially while protecting the shoulder. :D @RoidRage69

not a bad day. sort of thin on the volume. @RoidRage69 but i know that was your plan

The plan is to take it easy for the next couple weeks going Into surgery. Then will stay out of gym until the sling comes off. I will then ease back into doing leg curls, ext, belt squats. Anything that doesn't involve any upper body. Going to be putting all effort into getting my wifes numbers way up hopefully hitting 5x5 on bench with her current contest best from July. Also want her to do triples with her previous best deadlift and squat. To me that would be a godlike end to the 16 week strength/muscle building cycle.

Nice job hitting the treadmill for 30 minutes. That's a great way to finish any workout even without the weight training. Just the treadmill work is good cardio for your heart. @RoidRage69

Just going through the motions. Just maintain is all I care about while dropping 1/2 lb bodyweight per day the last 6 weeks. Will do heavy RDL tomorrow for my 2ndary deadlift day. Most likely 485 for sets of 5. Will be spotting the wife doing bench with 198 for a 5x5. Cant wait to see it happen. Ive never seen a powerlifter in the course of a 4 month training cycle be able to do a 5x5 with their previous best 1RM in competiton. This is going to be epic. Basically a 20% gain in bench strength in 4 months. Ok everyone have a good weekend and get Strong AF!!!
