Ive always had trouble sleeping, I didn't feel like/remember waking up that many times but I certainly never feel rested after sleeping and I toss and turn a lot.

I do wake up a bit due to pain, then have to try and move/rotate and find a comfortable spot again

Sleep onset is great using 1mg melatonin and im not getting the annoying side effects of constantly dreaming that i would get from 5mg.

Hamstrings session, rest days, stress, gut health & whoop band!​

This hamstring day has been quite a struggle for me lately, ive had a go at trialling the SLDLs but I think ill be making some small changes to help with this day (especially now that I feel the hamstrings are up to speed and the effort could be better spent on some more quad work)

Training changes-
Ill be switching to a more well rounded session for my 2nd lower session of the week.

Reintroduce the v-squat, remove SLDLs and some tweaks to exercise order.

Rest, stress & diet
Gave myself a few days off training, life been really stressful and my sleep had been severely disturbed, im glad I took the time off instead trying to push through.

First day of really nailing my diet again getting in the 5000kcal was great, appetite is good.

Added 500mcg bpc-157 oral capsules, morning and night (total 1mg per day)
from @IRONCLAD LABS, already feels like its helping with GI health. Will really be able to tell more over the next month.

whoop -
also really happy with my whoop 5.0 arriving so quickly. Im really keen on tracking these sleep metrics and hoping it helps with actionable data to improve sleep quality, recovery and brain fog

First night, whoop data - poor sleep as expected.​

Pretty standard sleep for me, woke up easily this morning although very sluggish, brain fog as usual. Starting to feel better around ~10am

It was interesting to see the 29 wake events, I thought this had improved after my first corrective surgery on my turbinates and tonsils. (Booked in to see ENT next month to see if anymore corrective surgery will help with breathing). Next stage will be a sleep study, then if needed im open to CPAP

Weather has been overcast here for most of the week, keeping lots of pollen trapped and aggrevating my allergies.

Sleep supps/meds at the moment consists of 1mg melatonin, 50mg norflex (muscle relaxant), 180mg telfast (antihistamine).

Have pretty much completely weaned myself off the targin now, with no regular use after long term use.

My favorite part of the workout is definitely the way you balance things out. Hitting your hamstrings and then the front part of your legs is important. Balancing them out is crucial. @willipede
 
Can't wait to see what other shenanigans you have in store. @willipede you look fantastic though on all this. It's a great log update.

Yea I'm the same way bro. Not sheets on the floor but sometimes I'm wrapped up like a burrito and can't figure out how to get out until I actually wake up lol.

It's used to log a lot of my night movements as wake events but over time the wake events went way down.

Some nights it'll only log the times I get up to piss and maybe another time or two.

Damn bro you need one of those frequent customer cards at the doctor's office. Sorry to hear about the hip but the fact you can physio your way back to almost normalcy is great news. Hip problems are usually really bad and the surgery is major. Physio is great results. I'm sure with your level of commitment you'll get the max outta your physio

Hahaha I should, im just thankful for our healthcare system here. If you know how to use it you can get a fair bit of help.

Im always using the pain management plan 6 covered physio sessions per year. It definitely helps. Then I just private health the rest.

Ive got an amazing physio she's helped me out so much, I was turned off physios and chiros for a long time as majority of them just aren't up to my standards.

Hoping to reduce the need for any hip surgery later in life

It was a long session but was good quality, definitely happier pulling the weight back to 120kg, ill slowly start adding weight but not compromising on ROM, tempo or technique

Theyre 2 of my favourite exercises for legs

My favorite part of the workout is definitely the way you balance things out. Hitting your hamstrings and then the front part of your legs is important. Balancing them out is crucial. @willipede
Definitely got to keep balanced, I dont see any point in neglecting any part of the body.

Definitely starting to bias the quads a little more as im happy with the hamstrings for now

Slight change in GH dosing protocol - Going back IM injections early evening ~5pm - reasoning for this is they produce the same IGF-1 response with quicker onset. This allows me to get my dose mostly out of my system upon waking shifting the fluid retention window.

Tried this last night and had a much deeper more rested sleep, possibly coincidence but time will tell.

Bp 143/83 - (post coffee & 40mg vyvanse) bit higher than usual, will monitor throughout the week to make sure its back to normal.

Bodyweight trending back up this week, looks like those meal adjustments have really helped with adherance.

Training has been more consistent this week, i feel like im training more intuitively with my body rather than just pushing through like last week.

Ive learnt when I take rest days I actually need to wind down a little and relax, instead of me normally just having a day off training but find 1000 other things to do and still end up physically and mentally drained.

I still definitely see a lot of debate. For me I definitely get lessened negative effects upon waking when doing IM injections, be it tingling hands & water retention.

Lethargy seems to be similar either way on higher doses.

Interesting strategy on the HGH, keen to see how that works, I struggle with water and GH
Its definitely worked better for me in my anecdotal experience. I was also having water retention in the face upon waking, but elevating my pillow with a towel has helped alot as well.

@willpede I have an impingement in my left shoulder it kills me and I just keep pushing the surgery.

How's the sleep been going? I didn't realize you were taking Vyvance. We have another member who takes that stuff and really struggles with sleep. You both have similar heart rate graphs on the whoop when you sleep.

Sleep actually best its been for most of my life tbh, my consistency and sleep routine is on point. I no longer have trouble falling asleep and wake up a lot less

Im very concious of having good sleep hygiene.

But my restfulness is still very inconsistent, most of the times I wake up feeling shit, but then every week or two I have a day where I wake up feeling great but I've tried everything to figure out whats different on those days.

I do think it has something to do with stress and overworking my body from day to day

Extra data is great tool for me for sure, ive made so many improvements because of the tracking I do. Just trying to squeeze out as many benefits as I can

BGL are good, I had been using metformix xr 500mg post that tracking. No longer worried about post prandial drops as far as im aware they are a non issue.

However I will be dropping the metformin as its overkill and cause some GI issues.

Going to trial mirabegron as it has some been seen to have a positive Impact with BGL, helps with frequent urination as well as beiging of adipose tissue. Ill grab another meter and do a comparison once life gets less hectic

Mirabergon is a new one I've never heard of. Sounds really interesting, especially with the ancillary benefits. I'd take it just if I could get through the night without have to get up for a leak lol

I'm running glycine pre bed and it's definitely helped. Currently 3000mg but I've tried as high as 6000mg just to see. I used to wake up 3 times most nights. Now I'm down to 2 on a bad night and most nights just once. Every now and again a miracle night where I sleep all the way thru lol

I found 5mg cialis daily really helped, my doctor actually mentioned it too me.

Im still up once or twice but much better than the 3+ at one stage.

I havent tried glycine on its own but I do consume ~10g of collagen protein daily being aboit 20-30% glycine

I'm using Cialis mainly for BP right now but I didn't really notice any change in my wake ups. Maybe it can only improve so much.

I'm gonna try dropping my glycine next week while I'm on the Cialis and see if there's any changes. You got me curious now haha

It definitely did help, I havent tested if the dose response and have only ever used 5mg for daily use.

Don't really want to go higher as I feel its unnecessary, plus start to get sides. Mild headaches and inappropriate boners 😂

Nutrition With life being so busy its been hard to get all my meals in resulting in them getting pushed back and last meal skipped.

I dont feel this has negatively impacted the physique though.

Yea the inappropriate boners is an issue lol. When I first tried Cialis I took a whole pill and it was like I was 14 again lol. Very inappropriate. Probably woulda preferred the headaches.

Thankfully it was winter and I was working in a jacket most of the day haha

Its actually been going really quite well, just have to use smart exercise selection.

I do have extensive stretching/activation routines done before every upper/lower session.

The carpal tunnel fairly easy one in comparison, even though mine was severe

The surgery for ulnar nerves were much worse

In saying that they take a long time to heal, my first one was over 6 months ago and still not 100%

In saying that they take a long time to heal, my first one was over 6 months ago and still not 100%

@willipede Yeah, man, for sure. That's something that is always scary dealing with a surgery. The ulnar nerves are something that we have to keep an eye on as bodybuilders. It could be an issue.

Off memory the actual incision initially heals up quite quickly. Stitches came back out early (id attribute that to the peptides)

Carpal tunnel symptoms improved rapidly, now the scar tissue in the hand will take a bit, it was about 4 weeks until I started rehabbing and doing exercises

Then youve pretty much just got to use it to soften up the scar tissue, make sure youve got a full rom pronation and supination.

You'll be okay brother, was the best thing I did for it tbh,

also if mine wasnt so severe and left for so long it would have healed up even quicker

Keen to see the results im thinking e2 should be around 180pmol . Keen to see if im right

I dont think ill up the test any more, switching to t400 has given a small increase in test ~35mg just because of dosing.

I will consider increasing the NPP to 140mg for 70mg once im back in a proper training routine

I will be writing myself a 3 day full body workout for the meantime whilst life is hectic (no reason I cant make good gains on that, its worked extremely well for me in the past)

Meals are back in action, everything propped this week and gotten some more carb powder to top up my smoothies

Started using some betaine hcl with a couple meals which has been helping this time, just have to use it sparingly

Pretty happy with where everything is, liver markers sitting where in there usual range, happy to see Lipid panel improved. Test & free test has increased considerably but e2 stay roughly the same. I think the npp gave me a nice boost in test numbers extremely happy with them

Currently on 10mg aromasin eod (35mg pw), just been trying to figure out best way to add small increase.

Possibly looking at doing 10mg 4x pw (40mg) pw. Although spacing won't be exactly even. But I dont think it will be an issue.

I wouldnt mind bringing e2 down to around 200-240pmol

Trialling a new shake before bed

30g Chocolate whey
(mainly for flavour)
600mg magnesium glycinate powder (sleep/recovery benefits)
10g bovine collagen (~3.3g glycine sleep benefits)
10g filmjolk fermented yoghurt (probiotics/gut health)
1g bovine colostrum (gut health)
250g milk

Figure this is an easy way to get them all in aswell a good way to get glycine before bed. Ill consider adding some nut butter in future, maybe something I can add for carbs

That was my thinking, instead of having it in my day shakes try and utilise it for the sleep benefits of the glycine.

Re the colostrum, surely what little in there has quite low oral bio availability? Much less than the already 500+mg test, maybe more of a concern for those with e2 sensitive disease or illness? What are your thoughts?

glycine is a big win for sleep :D go for it.

on the colostrum depends on the person if you absorb enough might be a bit of e2 depends how sensitive you are @willipede

Back looking awesome mate.

Would be interested to hear your thoughts on the full body once you've been using it for a while. Particularly regarding fitting in isolation exercises without the sessions becoming too long.
