No twisting today. Back feels great. That was most definitely the culprit. At this point, at the gym I go thru the motions. I try to get my sets, if my reps drop off I don't push it. 7 is ok if I can't do 10; Anything I do at this point is something I normally would do 10 reps. Felt good energy at the gym today.
Clen seems to cause finger/hand cramps. So they come and go. I see the detail coming in. I like how it looks. I wonder how it will look in another 4 weeks. Just keep grinding. Today was non fasting so I did have blended protein shake and dry Fiber One cereal during the day. Nice to see 175 on the scale, but re-hydrating so I'm sure I will be back to the low 180s by bed time.

Was surprised to see my weight get so close to 170. Makes me think, maybe I am fatter than I think Conditioning is coming in. Legs are peeled. Serratus are coming in. Lower ab is coming in, still a layer of fat. I'm holding in the glutes, lower back fat/handles/ and belly. I am thinking I just keep grinding forward and hopefully it looks very good on peak week.
Biggest thing is not trying to make a weight class. At this point, I should have no issue meeting CP requirement (under 177). MW BB under 176.
If I end up being WW BB (under 165.25) so be it. I just don't want to starve or do anything crazy on peak. That is where I am messing up.
I'll try to do some check in pictures this weekend.

Disappointed I am not in Ketosis today. Did do 12 hour fast. My leg workouts fairly easy since I don't push heavy weight for the rest of the way.
Just a lot of volume. I know the liver releases glycogen first. Then the muscles. Finally the fat. I suppose I did not extinguish enough glycogen from the first two sources.
Back feels good, no issues bending over and lifting today. Staying away from the torso twist machine. I like my progress. I'm in the range I wanted 3 weeks ahead of the show. At this point, I just want to get as shredded and as lean as possible and try not to care about where my weight is.

Weight goes up and down. Trending the right way, but mine likes to go up. Tomorrow is another fasting day. It is longer. Sat/Sun are generally 12 hour fasts. Fri/Mon are 14-15 hour fasts. Happy to be in low ketosis. M-F are my walking days as well so I will get 30K plus steps. I like my progress just need to keep grinding down.
I did feel a little weaker today. On my presses I usually hit 10, but would do 8 or 9 today. Not sure why. I see the conditioning coming. Everyone at the gym is asking when is the show. You look good. I try not let it get to my head. I know what my version of perfection looks like. If I achieve that even if I don't place I win. For me this is better conditioning in the lower abs/ lower back fat / glutes.

I am having good workouts at the gym. I feel like I get there around 4:30AM. Warm up and clear the bowels by 5AM. Hit my body parts. Start feeling winded around 7AM, but finish out with machines for about an hour. Then 35 min of stair mill and head home. I do two walks of about 15K or so one when I get back home and then another later in the afternoon. (2 hours each)
I feel like my lower back fat is pulling up and in a little. Still always feels like I am shaped like a Hershey's kiss around the mid-section. I try to do my best to keep the mid section tight. I like my progress, but obviously I want to see it in the physique and the scale.

I like my progress. Weight is moving in the right direction. My intent is to wake up under 176 and go into the show with very little or no manipulation to make a weight. Of course, I do want to be dry and full, but do not want to do anything crazy to make a weight by already being at the required weight.
I entered my divisions today. Yes, I am going all out. It's not the best time to spend this much money, but this is something I enjoy doing.
And as I said Pro or bust. I am done for this year after this show.
Men's Bodybuilding - Masters 50+ Middleweight (7 weight classes)
Men's Physique - Masters 55+ A (2 height classes)
Men's Physique - Masters 50+ A (4 height classes)
Men's Classic Physique - Masters 55+ A (2 height classes)
Men's Classic Physique - Masters 45+ A (4 height classes)
So, the question is why so many classes. My favorite is bodybuilding, My physique better fits there, but I can compete in the other classes
Bodybuilding is straight forward, all the weight classes are there, you just compete in your weight class, If you win your class you go against all the other weight classes. Top 3 of the weight class winners get pro cards.
For Classic Physique, you can see 55+ only has 2 height classes and 45+ has 4 height classes. The more height classes break out the class. This is a promoter option for the show. So, you end competing with much taller and bigger individuals. i am 5 foot 5.5 inches. I'm a short guy. I am on the low end of the spectrum. There are fewer shorter 50+ guys. You only need to win your class to get a pro card in this class. You compete for the overall, but you already have the pro card just winning your division.
So for 55+, since there are 2 divisions
DIVISION “A” (UP TO AND INCLUDING 5’ 9”)
But for 45+, there are 4 divisions
DIVISION “A” (UP TO AND INCLUDING 5’ 7”)
For Mens Physique, you can see 55+ only has 2 height classes and 45+ has 4 height classes. This is the same story as the classic physique, but I have to drop down to 50+ where the class breaks out more. You only need to win your class to get a pro card in this class. You compete for the overall, but you already have the pro card just winning your division. This is where I have come in 2nd twice (2020/2021)
So for 55+, since there are 2 divisions
Class A Up to 5’8”
But for 50+, there are 4 divisions
Class A: Up to 5’6″
I am excited to compete. Ultimately, just hoping to bring my best conditioning, If I do that I will be happy. Maybe I get lucky and squeeze by for a pro card. It really is a matter of who shows up. This show has an open class with the masters classes. It tends to be lighter on the masters competitors.

I am liking this version of my back work out. Does not feel risky. I seem to get a little gassed at the end, but I get it done. I don't put my back at risk being hunched over. Today is the end of my 4 day fasting flow. I do feel low energy with the fasting. I did hit Ketosis today. It was very hot in Texas so I did drop quite a bit of water. I did rehydrate between my AM and PM walks, but you just sweat it out.
I need to do some hair grooming as it will help me see some more detailed conditioning. I do have several friends at the gym saying conditioning looks good. Of course, my mind just plays tricks with me. I would like to have used a posing coach, but with the job search that had to give.
Just hoping to get as lean and conditioned as possible without sacrificing muscle size. I want my weigh range to be below 176

I had the same experience with semaglutide. Just didn't feel it. Currently using tirzepatide and it's a whole different story. Most days i'm fighting to get 2000cals in. Down 25lbs since june 1 and it doesn't even feel like i'm trying. Retaturide is supposed to be even better. Next generation i guess. I may try next time.I would like to try trizepatide.

It is hot in Texas. Feeling low energy. Woke up this morning and really just wanted to stay in bed. But, I l know my show is in 2 weeks and I am going to do my best to bring my best package to stage. So, I get up and go. Noticing, I do feel winded towards the end of the work out. Also, the outdoor walking is brutal this time of year. Less of a weight drop today as I am not fasting Tues-Thurs
As stated, I am hoping my weight range currently 173-179 drops to 170-176. That's all I am looking for. I want to come into the show and do nothing weird. As I run out of compounds, I will just stop them. I do have a dose of Semaglutide left. Honestly, it has not been effective for me.
I felt a little satiation but not enough. Next year, I would like to try trizepatide. My weight loss is more an effect of my step count then the peptide. I struggle to lose weight. Last year and this year for the first show, I used lasix, walking, and starving to drop my weight to make the weight cutoff. I was closer last year on the second show, but still did the same. This year I will be the weight so my carbs and food should just be normal. I should look normal like I'm going to the gym but just drier. Carbing up for me is challenging as I get a watery mid-section. I also bloat with distention in front poses. It's best for me to wake up empty and just sip water or chew on a few ice cubes to stage.
I need to do some hair grooming. Hope to do it tomorrow. I'll post pics during the weekend.

Same steps and light pump workout. Same food. Evening dinner something easy on the stomach.
Tuesday
AM Shaving, protein shakes am, normal water as I would do today. Just plan on weighing in 4-6. Eat dinner at hotel. Chicken and sweet potato.

Dry cereal, less water after 6 pm. Thinking I may still take a half lasix on Tues-Wed evening.
