Injuries and strength retention

I am a 40 year old with around 15 years of serious lifting. I eat very clean and follow IF as well as 5:2 fasting two to three times a month. I have recently injured my right shoulder and left elbow bench pressing. So I’ve stopped all upper body exercises and focused on lower body. Well now I’ve injured my knee as well. The doctor told me today that I’ve more than likely torn my meniscus, but I’m still have to wait for the mri to actually see. Not too sure of the right shoulder as of yet, still waiting on mri results to be read. Also, the elbow has a torn ligament that will require surgery to repair. I have a long history with anabolics, but I haven’t used any in the past year. However, I do take 2iu of hgh daily and also 25mg of ibutamoren. I also take 50mg of clomid 3x week for fertility reason (Dr prescribed). My Dr has advised me to not do any physical activity with my upper body (side note, I cannot anyway due to pain) now I can’t do any lower body exercises either. Also, he’s said no running, but walking is fine he said. My question is how do I hold on to as much strength and muscle while I’m having and recovering from all these surgeries I’m about to undergo? Also, would it be best to eat at maintenance for the time being? I don’t eat anything processed or unhealthy at all. Also, would something like tb 500 be beneficial at this point or would it be a waste until after the actual surgery?

Don’t know if this matters but I’m 6’4” 230lbs. IMG_4854.webp

i suggest taking a nice long break from weight training man. you simply pounded your body into the dirt

and long story short, you aren't gonna keep your strength nor should you want to if you are gonna heal up your body. now the good news is there is such thing as body and muscle memory. so one day when you are healthy you can make your comeback. for now focus on improving your mobility and flexibility, that is where you faultered. so look into yoga, what sort of yoga you can do is obviously dependent on your MRI. but at worst you can start with gentle yoga (old people yoga) then gradually work your way up to the more hardcore yoga that i do. this will improve your mobility and flexibility and prevent future issues

What would you suggest for nutrition? Should I just eat at maintenance during my down time? Should I still eat high protein? Also, would you suggest I walk a few miles a day to stay in some sort of shape or just completely go into healing mode. Would tb 500 be beneficial at this point or should I wait I till after the surgeries? Also, thanks a lot for the input.

the yoga will keep you in shape and it is low impact. you can also do swimming. walking on hard pavement or side walk wont do your body any favors

as far as nutrition. you sound like you are doing it right. fasting is great for healing up the body, the more you fast the more your body will spend time healing itself up.

you should also gradually look into peptides and sarms even. ones that heal. tb500 and bpc are the best peptides for healing. and ostarine would be my choice for you for sarms

I think you should post your LOG with your diet and we can help you set up your diet for a positive nitrogen balance so you can keep your mass and recover.

Tb500 and bpc157 with ostarine mk2866 is perfect for you.

If you want us to really guide you, and we have 100s of years of experience between us, you need to post a LOG Journal with your stats (weight, height, age, years training, cycle history) diet, training, cardio, supplement, sleep details. If you don't log what you eat or train now, open NOTES on phone and start recording it there and paste here. Very easy.

Please post a Log Journal asap for us
