MY TRAINING PHILOSOPHY -

Rhythm & Explosion!

I no longer record the weight being lifted because weight itself isn't the goal—stimulating hypertrophy is.
I don't train to move weight—I train to create tension.
Hypertrophy isn't determined by how much weight is lifted—it's determined by how effectively the muscle is challenged.
The amount of weight I lift doesn't matter, the weight disappears during all of my sets.
I don't think about moving the weight.
Rather I feel the muscle control every millimetre of the eccentric.
Rather than simply lowering the weight, I flex my muscles actively against resisting the weight, all the way into the fully stretched position.
At the bottom of each rep, the muscle feels like a fully compressed spring, storing elastic tension

before exploding!

Powerfully into the concentric.
Every rep flows with rhythm, timing and intent, I creating continuous waves of tension where the muscle, not the weigh dictates the movement.
The objective isn't to move weight from A to B, The objective is to create maximum muscular tension, maintain complete control, and use the stretch-to-contraction transition to produce explosive, forceful contractions while keeping the target muscle under constant load.

INJURY STATUS & RECOVERY

Right Pectoral Tear — 9-18 months recovery — Permanent reduction in maximal pressing strength

Right Pectoral Tear (again

)— 9-18 months recovery — Ongoing reduction in chest power and stability.

Right Bicep Tear — 6-12 months recovery — Reduced pulling strength and curling power

Left Bicep Tear — 6-12 months recovery — Continued limitations during heavy rows and curls.

Right Tricep Tear — 6-12 months recovery — Reduced lockout strength during pressing.

Right Lat Tear — 6-12 months recovery — Reduced back width and pulling power.

Left Lat Tear — 6-12 months recovery — Continued impairment during heavy back training.

Right Patella Tendon Tear — 9-18 months recovery — Limits heavy leg loading and explosive movements.

Left Patella Tendon Tear — 9-18 months recovery — Ongoing reduction in knee extension strength.

Complete Left Rotator Cuff Tears — 12-24 months recovery — Permanent shoulder stability problems requiring smart exercise selection to get around this.

Complete Right Rotator Cuff Tears — 12-24 months recovery — Continued limitations in lifting arms above chest height.
From all of these multiple catastrophic muscle and tendon tears involving both shoulders, chest, arms, back and knees, I've accumulated approximately 12-15 years worth of rehabilitation and recovery.
Every new training session is an extra credit to my drive & determination in rebuilding my physique back up from almost scratch many times after injuries that would have ended many bodybuilding careers.

This makes me somewhat of an expert in exercise mechanics, form & rehabilitation from having to negotiate all of the limitations that these injuries have had upon me.
I've competed many times after some of these injuries. One of my pec tears happened 16 weeks out from a show in which I rehabilitated it & grew the muscle back while preparing for that show the 2010 IFBB Australasian Championships in which I placed 3rd in the over 100kgs class amongst a line up of well over 10 other contestants.

As Promised, some much fairer comparisons with before & after pics. The lighting is not great, but these are atleast full body pics.
The after pics were all taken today.
● Included in the last pic, is one of my back at my heaviest weight of 126kgs.
Weight difference is approx 96kg not Fasted to 107kgs Fasted.
Arm, Forearm & Wrist measurement from today cold measurement.
Wrist measure is included to illustrate a thin underlying bone structure which lends more towards a light to medium ectomorphic build. My goal is to get my previous best Arm measurement back which was 20" cold which was at a weight of 114kg & 10% bf.
My goal with this rebuild was to gain my confidence back after succumbing to disabling injuries to my rotator cuffs where I've lost all capacity to bring my arms up into a bicep pose & with very limited ability to lift my arms up overhead at all. Infact, without the use of any of the ligaments of the entire rotator cuff structure, plus torn Biceps from the shoulder insertions & a torn tricep, my overhead presses are limited to a plate loaded machine where I can lift 5kgs total for 12 reps to failure. This might give you an idea of how much of the weight that we lift is actually transferred to & supported by Tendon & ligament structures & the nerves, rather than the actual muscle.
Some of my injures were caused simply by wear & tear from 35 years of non-stop training & some were caused by breaking up fights in the pubs & clubs that I worked doing security for 26 years.
My Goal from this point on now is to gain back 5-8kgs of muscle, with the focus of that muscle now being directed towards -
● Thighs
● Calves
● Side Delts
● Triceps
● Lats
● Upper Pecs
● Deeper Abs.
Non of the focus of this physique comeback was on losing bodyfat, but still, quite a bit of bodyfat has been lost.
Once I reach my goal weight, my physique will be held onto with TRT 175mg wk with most likely 200mg of Primo Ongoing. Yes, not purely TRT & the Primo is in there to help maintain a certain Anabolic threshold without largely any negative side effects.
This base of Muscle mass has been gained without doing any cardio & very little daily steps or other activity & with roughly 3000-4000 odd calories coming in on the daily. All of the muscle that you see is being built & maintained with a foundation of extremely intense weight training.
From this foundation with calories maintained (staying the same) training remaining extremely intense (staying the same) but with a reduced Androgenic, Anabolic load, Cardio in the form of Incline treadmill 5-15 minutes before & after my weight training sessions in gradually added progression will take care of stripping off my bodfat. Also with simple strategies in place at that point, such as taking 2i:u HGH Fasted in the morning plus 10mg of Dapigloflozin & waiting a couple of hours before eating my first meal & going to bed on protein & omega fats only.
No carbs before bed.
Until next time Koba over & out
